  1. As far as I know, there's nothing else that will fit. Your only option is to get it fixed.
  2. Sorry to hear about your bike, did it have any distinctive bits/colours other than being a standard 4rt. Maybe you could post a pic, the frame and engine number.
  3. This maybe a bit controversial, but, if people didn't buy nicked bikes, then hardly any would get nicked. Is the person behind, or in front in the que on a nicked bike !!! Almost certainly not, but there must be some that are, as there's an awful lot getting nicked. Just cos someone has a nice bike (new or used) doesn't mean they're loaded, they've worked hard to get it and almost certainly couldn't afford to loose it, by some scumbag helping themselves. Unfortunately, the Law aren't interested in dealing with bike theft, so I think it's only fair, that the owner should be allowed to take measures to protect their property whilst in their possession and also in retrieving their property if some scumbag feels they have some god given right to nick it. If your offered something at a bargain price, it's probably been nicked, if you buy it, in my eyes, your as bad as the Bas£@€# that nicked it. It's time all frame and engine numbers were recorded at each trial, yes it may add a little more time at the start of a trial and require another volunteer to help out (I'll do it) but atleast it will have some effect on the number of bikes being stolen and the poor fellows pleading for the return of their pride and joy. (Steps off the soap box) :0)
  4. Do you have a suggestion to the question Frank, if so, please share, as obviously there hasn't been one yet. Get it repaired by Westcoast winding maybe the answer, if that's possible.
  5. Measure the length from calliper to master cylinder (will be about 900mm (approx) and get banjos and powerhose from Venhill, will cost about £36.
  6. I need to replace the ignition coil on a 88 RTL, the original part is no longer available from Honda, but there are plenty of other Honda ones with a part no. 30500-. Can someone help with any info on a suitable replacement please. I have been told that coils aren't necessarily model specific and if I can find one with the same mounting point and size, it will work depending on whether its 6v or 12v. I'm assuming an RTL is probably 6v, but any info would be most appreciated. Thanks

    2016 Cota Rr

I see no reason for the RR to be priced anymore than £8k in the UK. What does it have over the Repsol, 288cc, dual map TB, new hubs, new Braktec master cylinders and cheaper forks, the rest is as per the Repsol (minus the carbon silencer cover). If it's more, it's a rip off. Mind you, according to Honda UKs website, there aren't any 2016 bikes. My guess is, there seeing what the demand will be before posting a price. Current £ to € exchange rate is €1.41, so Honda UK is in a strong position to buy at a good price. You'll have to wait another 20 years for your Repsol to become collectable, even then they'll still be plenty about.

Back on track... I see our U.S. Cousins have a price and interestingly, no longer sell the Race Rep (Repsol) http://powersports.honda.com/trials.aspx So with vat in the UK, should be around £7699 to £7999 figure, which is what it's worth compared to a Repsol. Mind you, UK being what it is, we'll be paying more than most for it.
  9. Part number for a 2005 bike: 50600-NN4-000 50700-NN4-000 Part number for a 2014 bike: 50600-NN4-D00 50700-NN4-D00 The D in the last three digits donates a modification, I don't know what's different, could be colour or shape. Why don't they fit? If it's because the foot rest are tilting up (not flat) that's normal for S3.

    2016 Cota Rr

The 300RR engine is based on the customer factory bikes of Eddie Karlsson and Oriol Nuguera and possibly, so is the rear showa and tech fork. After reading the press release on Sunday, I would have thought that Eddie and Oriol would have been on new 300RR's (plus all the factory parts they have).

    2016 Cota Rr

Looks great and I wouldn't mind one myself, but the marketing people at Montesa should be shot. Standard model - no bling, fair enough Race Replica, Repsol, 260, decal kit, Showa, DID and carbon guards, ok And now, Race Ready - alloy tech forks, Showa rear, billet 7075 T6 alloy hubs, dual map TB, 288cc, carbon bits, DID rims etc Shouldn't the Race Rep (Repsol), as a replica of Bou's championship winning bike, have all that as well. And then there's the fact of no price available at launch and the fact of (probably the biggest trials website/forums) not being involved in the launch, so no photos and no details etc, etc. I don't want to negative, as atleast their still there making bikes, but their marketing is all a bit confusing and I think they have missed a great opputunity to combine Fuji's 20 years in WTC and the RR.
  12. hopefully they can peel off the Gas.

    Titanium Stand

They're strong and very light and do the job they are made for, that's why we buy them, but when the part is put under strain and weight it wasn't design to take, it will fail. The mitani ti stands are very light and are much better than the OEM part, but if you put the bike on its stand and then sat on it, feet up, it would probably bend. Ti is stronger than steel and 40% lighter, but it's not indestructible. ATEOTD, you pays your money and takes your chance. Most good riders don't bother with side stands, as they can catch on things, but it's very convenient to have a stand, as sometimes there's nowhere to lean your bike up against. If the stand was strong enough not to bend, it would be much heavier.
  15. I think you'll find the three factory works bikes of team Honda Repsol, are just as light as any of the the 2 strokes.
  16. Take a look at the pics Andy took of Fuji riding.
  17. The works riders have been wearing them for years, so it's not likely they'll go to production for the public, but we can live in hope.
  18. Has his bike got a new engine, clutch cover looks much bigger tha previous ones (although it's not got the carbon cover usually used. I know they've junked last years clutch, maybe this is what the RR will have !?

    2016 Cota Rr

Just thought I'd start a separate thread about the soon to be shown Cota RR. Is this going to be The New bike everyone has been waiting for? Or a special limited edition 4rt. Normally something with RR tagged to the name, is pretty trick, so maybe a very limited special bike for top riders to ride in national and world rounds.
  20. RR, sounds interesting, my crystal ball was working well
  21. It's not possible to change the seals in a Magura slave cylinder, so I'll have to change the seals in the master cylinder.
  22. I have a Magura slave cylinder for the clutch, be Magura say you can ONLY use mineral oil, Dot 4 will destroy the seals. I am using a Braktec clutch master cylinder, the plastic cap does not have any marking on it, unlike the front brake master cylinder, which has Dot 4 stamped on it. Will mineral oil cause any problems with the Braktec clutch master cylinder seals (I'm assuming it won't as it doesn't contain any acids, unlike Dot 4). I believe some new bikes use mineral oil, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. RS bike paints would probably have it, or can mix it for you.
  24. Absolutely agree, except youngsters like to look up to the their heroes and aspire to be like them. Factories want to show case their bikes with the best riders proving what there capable of doing, even if 99% of the public can't get anywhere near what the bikes are capable of. When joe blogs get his hands on one, we'll see how they fair, as many riders idea of maintenance, is far from what the designer and factory would like. Back to OP topic, if Adam can't get the money to continue, then something is really bad with the business of trials, he's an ex world champion, can win both indoor and outdoor wtc rounds and would no doubt win the SSDT if he choose to enter. He's sponsored by Redbull as well and even if vertigo don't need a win to sell bikes, that doesn't mean the owner doesn't want to win (I seem to remember when the vertigo was first announced, winning was one of their priorities along with quality and reliability, they wanted to build the BEST bike). If it was my decision, I sign him up today.
