  1. Banyeres sells a complete set, but you probably wouldn't like the price. Cheapest option is just the top, then the likes of either an S3, standard Mont one or the Repsol one, or a Mitani "Ogawa" one. Take your pick, but be sure it is suitable for your year of bike.
  2. Very sad to hear this, I can only echo the above views about the staff, excellent service, go above and beyond to help the customer. My brother and I have known and shopped with them over many years on and off, it will be a great shame, to not be able to deal with them anymore. I can only hope all the staff can find other work, or hope that someone might buy up the business and keep it going and maybe the staff will find jobs back at the old shop. To all the BVM staff, thank you for your friendly and excellent customer service in the past, good luck for the future. Many thanks, Paul & Andy.
  3. HRC Montesa contract, same sort of deal as Richardson had.
  4. Tomch, it has usual Allen bolts and normal bolts and nuts, so shouldn't be a problem for you.
  5. Repsol boys having fun. ;-)
  6. Honda UK should be able to supply a letter, with proof of year of manufacture.
  7. Nicely summed up Hughesy,, the 4RT will never suit everybody, but as others have said, you need to have a test ride yourself, only you can decide. :-) I also appreciate the build quality and it also puts a huge smile on my face when I ride. I was at a Trial the other day and while waiting for my turn, I heard a guy say to his mate, "that's the hardest bike to ride here", I chuckled to myself, little did he know, I guess lots of people have pre conceived ideas about the Mont. :-)
  8. Very nice Warby, if you want a carbon shark fin and front sprocket guard, buy some flat carbon sheet, trace round your plastic one and simply cut out, file and job done. Your probably have plenty of the carbon sheet left, to make some more, if the others get damaged and it cheaper than buying them off the net. Plus a bit of self satisfaction in making something for your bike. :-)
  9. Nigel, you are answering your own question here! Don't worry yourself, it's most likely never going to happen. Clubs are not going to weight old bikes, they don't have the resources, manpower or money to do this, but more importantly, their not going to turn away riders, just because they have old bikes that are under weight! If it ever did happen, I can't see it myself, then there would most like be a new class created, to cover the new regs. Has the ACU been in touch with you or anybody else, to say that the rules have been change and you can no longer ride with your under weight bike? Chill out dude, enjoy your underweight bike. Just think, the tables have been reversed, Adam Raga will now been looking at the likes of your bike with envy, instead of you looking at his. ;-)
  10. Update and edited today: Weighted all setups (friends Mitani setup, my standard setup and my Termignoni setup). The figures are not 100%, as I'm using a digital kitchen scale! but they all were weighted with the same scale! same location and one after the other. Shock horror, the Termignoni is actually the lightest, 1.486 kg, the Mitani is next at 1.612 kg and the standard Repsol setup 2.509 kg. That includes all fittings. So as you can see, the Termi is 1.023 kg lighter and the Mitani is 897 g lighter than a standard Repsol setup. (Standard bike (not Repsol) setup, with steel header, steel cover, silencer and plastic cover is 2.553 kg, so 1.067 kg heavier). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think I can help, as I own a 2014 Repsol and I have owned a Mitani system and now the Termignoni system (although just got the Termi, not ridden with it yet, roll on Sunday). The Mitani is one of the lightest setup and you can choose to run either the standard header, or one of many different size Mitani Titanium headers. It's a good system, sounds nice and depending on which size header and which carbon rear cover you buy (their is 2 options), your looking at about 897 grams weight saving on standard system. Pro's are it's cheaper than a Termi (but it's not much cheaper now the price has recently gone up), the rear carbon cover can be replaced if damaged and you can choose which header you want to use. Con's are it's not as nice looking, especially on the back of the silencer and this is more noticeable on the new 2014 bikes, with their narrower and higher rear mudguards. The Termignoni is the lightest if you have the Ti header, the complete system is very nice, more stylish (more thought gone into its design), looks like it could of been an original Montesa Honda part. Choice of either Ti header or stainless header, rear silencer has Ti internals and an all carbon outer. 1,023 grams lighter than the standard system if you get the Ti header. Pro's are it's really nice looking, well integrated, lighter than the Mitani and standard systems and sounds lovely, but not loud with the DBk fitted. Con's are it's more vulnerable to damage, as you don't get a separate carbon rear cover (although this can be bought from Mitani as an after market accessory, but adds further to cost and adds 135 g). More expensive than Mitani (but their are deals to be had, if you can buy in bulk, i.e group buy). Both should give a slight performance increase, although I wouldn't know exactly what. I do know that the bikes that the likes of Laia Sanz and Jonathan Richardson's factory supplied bikes, used the Termignoni, so it might give a worthwhile performance increase (definitely not needed by me ;-) Billy hope that answers your questions.
  11. I know it's a bit late in the day, can't see it in TMX, so does anybody know if the Breakheart quarry Trial is on tomorrow, Sunday 12th January and what time it might start? Cheer.
  12. Low cost NOT, but it's a nice engineering project by many Italian company's, who have put their expertise to the bike. Love looking at these type of machines, it's in the detail.

Billy, it is a bit of a pain to relocate the relay to its original place, but when I had my last Repsol, I minimised the electrics on the plate above the gearbox. I relocated the relay to where my finger points. I just used a cable tie, to hold it in place, it's far enough away from the exhaust and worked fine there.

Give the supplying dealer a call and ask for the correct manual and the small alloy brake bracket, which you should have had in the first place! Interesting, didn't know the states were getting them, guess there will be some happy chaps over there now then. One thing I would recommend you get (unfortunately not supplied by the manufacture), is a case saver. Although it may never happen, hopefully, if the chain was to break, a case saver may save you big bucks and only cost about £40. Other than that, enjoy your new Mont and do ask if you have any other questions, someone on here will be happy to help, if they can.

As Munch has said, the carbon fork brace is very strong, should be no problem. It seem that your supplying dealer hasn't done the best of jobs. Not to worry though, plenty of help on this forum. I'll take a photo of mine when I get home, so you get a better idea how it fits, if someone hasn't already done it. Edit: there you go, jj65 done it for me. ;-)

My guess, someone has moved the fan relay!
  17. If you want one, your most likely going to have to recreat it yourself, as far as I can make out, it's a one off. But perfectly achievable, if you are prepared to either do it yourself or pay someone to do the paintwork and make some decals for you. Look forward to seeing your creation in the future warby. ;-)

    300Cc 4Rt

Don't know if you already know, but 300 kits normally require crankcase modification, which is why most people go for a 280 kit. 280 is much quicker and easier to fit, less hassle.
  19. Here's a few photos to help with the install Andrew. You can either use a stainless jubilee clip or some use a very large zip tie, although I don't know how long one of those would last in fuel.
  20. I weighted my new 2014 Mont 4RT Repsol Replica last night, full tank and oils and water, using pretty accurate sea fishing scales. It came in at a nats whisker over 76kg's.
  21. Why would they, they've had two opportunities to ride it already, this is the punters day to try out the new 2014 bikes. ;-)
  22. Apart from, my personal conversations with Mark, he said he would quite like to see them there.
