  1. I use the Aspen 4: http://www.aspenfuel.co.uk/products/environmental-fuels/aspen-alkylate-petrol/aspen-4-alkylate-petrol/ Which is 95 RON. I've also tried Aspen R (Racing fuel) (102 RON), but I did not notice any improvement to the Aspen 4. I'm a low level (randonneur) rider so I don't use the full power of my Cota 4RT. A Beta rider who rides in a higher class than me, says he can feel the benefits from the high octane fuel. There's also Aspen + 98 RON, but I've got no experience with that. Aspen also sells pre-mixed 2-stroke fuel: Aspen 2 (95RON)
  2. That's some nice soil you've got there .
  3. To much ethanol in fuel, can be a problem because it absorbes water. And we don't want to much water in our (metal) gastank, carburettor or injection system. About the other chemical crap in fuel: This is the reason why I use Alkylate fuel in my trial bike. It's better for man and machine. It not cheap, that's why I don't use it in my other motorcycle. http://www.aspenfuel...lkylate-petrol/
  4. Just what we need, another crazy dude Welcome
  5. Welkom. I've been on a motorcycle-holiday in Greece in the 80's... Perfect for trials, lots of rocks and mountains there

    No Stop Rule

In Belgium it's the same , maybe even worse.
  7. Altough i'm from Belgium my French leaves much to be desired. So I asked the organisers from the 4-day trial for info in english and they responded in English. Worth a try isn't it? ;-)
  8. Works of art, those bikes! Very nice.
  9. Here's another one (Motul):
  10. If you've still got the original clutch lever, compaire the stroke the plunjer makes when you pull the lever, and the diameter of the plunjer.
  11. Maybe it doesn't displace enough fluid to make the clutch work properly. I would sort this out, before dismanteling the clutch. This is normal.
  12. So, apart from the price and availability (which is not a real problem for me), I don't see any major advantages ATF has over the Elf HTX740 oil. Or is there no drag at all with ATF oil? I have alway used the Elf oil in my 315R and also in my current 4RT and the only (small) problem I have is getting it in neutral. This is what the Italian Future Trial Racing team uses: Does anyone have any experiance with this gearbox oil?
  13. AHA! So you're the one that's been nicking all the stuff!

    Which 4T Oil?

+1 If Scorpa recommends fully sythetic motorcycle oil for wet clutches, I would stick to that, also make sure it's the right viscosity.
  15. http://www.ajpamerica.com/master-cylinders.html Here's a list of the different AJP clutch (and brake) master cilinders. It's comes from the Gas Gas importer Trials Parts USA, but Montesa (and most other trial brands) uses the same clutch and brake levers. When I had my 1998 315R, I also had clutch problems and ended up, after a rebuild, replacing the complete master cilinder and rebuilding (seals and piston) the slave cilinder.
  16. I think most riders already use this positioning of the levers. I do anyway for at least the last 10 years. On my mountainbike also.
  17. Tubes in a tubeless tyre without a tyre clamp don't last very long is my experiance. Here's how I fixed my rear tyre. It's still air tight. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/43968-cuts-in-rear-michelin-x-light-tyre-sealed-with-stans-notubes-tire-sealant/
  18. Change the oil (twice when necessary) and use the recommended Elf oil. (Elf HTX740 is a mono-grade 75w, not a multi-grade 75w90) If this doesn't help You can still change the plates.
  19. you'll be riding on public roads so your trials bike must be "road legal": The bike must be insured and registrated. Most participants stick a small color-copy of their registration plate on the rear mud-guard. You also need a (small) head- and taillight.
  20. Why does it have to be a 5 when you stop. A 1 is more than enough to keep us on the move.
  21. guys

    Really?

I don't know about the fender bolts (made some myself) but a front disc guard costs € 36 in one shop in Europe, thats about $47! So yes really...I think that these are normal amounts. Not cheap, but normal.
  22. Is there enough play between the lever and the plunger in the master cylinder? Does the plunger returns to it's resting position completely?
  23. No worry's guy's. Youtube is also for me the only way I can watch the world rounds. I don't have Motors TV on my cable network and if I try to watch it on my PC, I get more spam than I can ever eat
