I had a go on the new scorpa 125 and I think the 125/175 have magura master cylinders. A couple of people agreed with me that it felt too much like it was either in or out,had no feel. Then again everyone has their own opions on each bike and since the 175 is a 4stroke most people ride them on the throttle anyway and find grip really well on them.

I don't know about the flatside bit but the carb on the beta 125 is a dellorto. As for power I think in the TMX review Steve Saunders said that a smaller main jet would transform the bike at high revs. I got a new Beta this year and it has more go about it and is more 'flickable'than my old one I think your best bet is to contact John lampkin though for tuning advice. If he replies please could you tell me what he said.

What type of petrol are you using? I've found that my bike (new beta 125) goes better when I run it on shell optimax because it's a higher octane (I think). In december on a particulary cold day my bike seemed to run lumpy for a while until it warmed up running it on normal petrol. Don't know if octane boost works or not? Hope this has helped Rob

I use Carrs leather oil on my diadora 2stone's from feetup trialsport which seems to keep them from cracking, but it darkens them. Other peoples boots seem quite bright (same colour as new) so I don't know whether they're lazy buggers who don't oil their boots or whether they use something else

I don't think Doug would ever want to cruise the indoor series. He said last year something along the lines of 'we know we aren't competitive this year but then again we aren't here to look stupid'

A word of advise , if you want to record a trial on Eurosport set your video about an hour before and after the event. Eurosports time schedule is poor. Still, its the only channel to show trials so can't get too negative about it..

Do the beta uk team use these? Do they tighten the fork yolkes over them? I'm going for the beta UK look on my new Beta. Now I just need to ride like a Beta Uk team rider I maybee need to stop polishing and start riding now its run in To quote Martin Lampkin "You know, there comes a time when you need stop p**sing about and just get on the bike and ride it"
