Cheers Guys, tried soaking the thing in a bucket of bleach / water last night...nothing still the same I'll try some of that oven cleaner that James mentioned, failing that I'll have to try and get a tank cover (if they still make them!) Thanks once again

Just finished a rebuild on my Pinky, I've bought a metal tank off an older TY mono for now but I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to clean up the outside of a mono plastic tank?. I dont't want to spray it as I know it will bubble off, surely there must be some kind of a mild acid soap that can take off the horrible yellow colour these tanks seem to go....any thoughts?

How many would subscribe to TC if they had to ? 50 ? 100 ? or more to the point how many folks have subscribed to the Trials photos website ?.....subscription would be the death of the site in my eyes, I myself only come on here to read the forum, I don't bother with the front page or even the pics. I'm not bothered about world rounds or what DL or any other top boys are up to, Fair play to Andy for all his efforts etc and I know alot of the younger riders on here want to know about that kind of stuff......but how many would really cough up if they had to?

Shame, bought every copy except for the first one...I thought it was a good read....anything to do with trials is a good read in my book...be it TMX or otherwise.

Just about to do the footrest mod to my TY Mono before I send the frame away to be painted, I know you go 'down and back a bit' but how far ? is it just a case of grinding the old hangers off and taking the new hangers to the edge of the current frame work...or do you have to 'add' a bit more metal to the frame to get the right angle ? cheers

Thanks guys I did think about some wooden blanking plugs, I used to use Epoxy powder coatings in Birmingham (Tyburn road?) who are well versed in bike stuff, it's been a few years and I'm not sure if there still around. I had my SY250 frame done by a local company recently and it wasn't that good,as you say a good firm will probably sort that stuff out as a matter of course...anybody got any more ideas ?

Just stripped my TY mono down for a bit of work, I'm going to have the frame plastic coated and I was wondering what tips you guys might have for masking off the Headstock bearing area and also the swing arm bearing area. In the past I've not masked these areas off and have had a right nightmare getting the plastic coating back to metal to accept the bearing races Will a simple masking off of the area with masking tape do ? I've just got images of the blasting process ripping the tape apart...any tips ??

Had a discussion on here a while back on Tubed vs Tubeless when I was running an SY125 (tubed rear) I found the IRC tubed tyre great, but quite a few of the twin shock brigade seemed to using Tubeless tyres in tubed rims.....where do you draw the line with this Classic / twinshock thing ?. Seems funny that folks can slate non standard brakes but then run modern tyres on tubed rims and say thats ok I mean it's not as if you can't buy tubed tyres anymore is it!

I rode my SY125 also in the mono class in one event.....funny thing is, modern trials slag it off for having outdated suspension (mine was non racing model) and not enough power and airccoled mono guys think you've got an unfair advantage....

Did a few rounds last year in the aircooled mono class on a TY250, great trials, good sections, nothing over the top. Just bought another TY, and just started to strip in down ready for the 06 events. As for the non standard bikes...live and let live I say, at the end of the day it's only a bit of fun...so what if some bloke has hacked his bike around or is riding a SY125 Scorpa, gives you a better feeling if you beat him Now where's me hacksaw ?..... just need to shoehorn that 300 Gas Gas engine into the Yam frame, stick some fins on the block.....no bugger will know

Sort of response I expect from a Yorkshire mon it's as good as damm it the middle of the country ! central for most folks
