  1. Just found this off the Beta UK website, the tip is off there prep sheet for the SSDT. "CARB MOD. I would advise having the carb mod done before the SSDT. The Mikuni carb is designed to let out the excess petrol, in small events this is not a big problem but in the SSDT sometimes you require every bit of fuel possible. If you want this doing we require at the start of a week so we can get it back to you for the weekend. It costs
  2. Hi Digger, just waiting for some a new float needle valve and seat to arrive, if it still leaks after that I'll get the drill out and give it a bash, if I make a balls of it I can rob the missues of her savings and buy a Delorto If there's any change left I'll get BillyT some asprin, the dude must have a hell of a headache with all that head banging
  3. It's friggin very hard mate....to get in in the first place don't know about the trial though
  4. I wonder why Beta spec the Delorto as an upgrade?? (better carb for a guess ) as a rule you can always bet on jap equipment being well sorted...not this time...... Like I said before, the carb is the only blemish on an otherwise great bike.
  5. Sorry Billy that you seem a little p****d, done the mods you mentioned still no difference mate Maybe you send your post to Beta direct......my mates 270 O5 model p****s fuel out too.......The other thread is getting interesting with an alternative carb....the Dellorto, sounds like a better fix .

    Rev3 Carb.

    Looks good, anyone translate?
  7. Spoke to BVM today, said 'they all do it mate' ! He did say the float needle valve and it's seat can wear so there sending some new ones....he did mention something about drilling the carb ?? whats that all about then? and can the budding home mechanic do it ?

    Rev3 Carb.

Can you even get a float bowl extention for an 02 > I seem to recall the carb bowls being quite different from the 01 models?

    Rev3 Carb.

Nice one Stu, I wonder why so many bikes have problems and as many bikes don't have an issue, kinda knocks the angle issue into a cocked hat! The only flaw on a very good bike My old 01 250 was spot on. no leaking at all, my 02 bike is being a right pain, I can park mine up, switch the engine off and watch the petrol flowing out of the floatbowl overflow tube, I'm now thinking the float needle valve must not be seating properly I'm going to have a session on it this Sunday to try and sort out my leaking floatbowl once and for all...
  10. Fuel is coming out of the float bowl overflow, the breathers on the side of the carb body are sound Don't forget the carb is upside down in the pic !, just picture the carb bowl filling up with fuel and the floats rising onto the brass fuel supply stops......just does not look right to me !
  11. my 2002 250 rev3 is nearly always leaking fuel out of the carb floatbowl (not the breathers as mentioned before on here) Checked out the past posts on this subject and found this Done what the mod says with my float 'tang' but it still leaks.......correct me if Im wrong but I think the drawing in the link is wrong ! if you want to restrict the fuel going into the bowl you want the tang going the other way than what Clark says....whats reckon?
  12. Might be worth checking out what oil was in if you can, First thing I did when I bought my SY125 4t was drain the oil and use Castrol GTX, change it every other trial for the first couple of months then went over to Semi Synth oil (Morris oil if i recall)...never had a bit of trouble with it. Bit of a long shot but worth a try
  13. WM, if all else fails the only other reason your motor is blowing oil out he breather is due to compression getting past the piston rings, what oil did you use when running in ? (fully syth or semi synth?) If it were Fully syth I'd bet your bore has glazed over and will need a re-hone, got this tip from a road race mechanic.
  14. That colour scheme is soooo nice, love that !!

    Cz Trials

When I was a mere 15 years old, my mate came home with a 'Solifer' trials bike (I think thats what it was called) 50cc, it looked like something from the SSDT of old.....I'm almost sure it had leading link forks...alloy tank in all. We couldn't get the thing to go, so he sold it to his brother, who I think still has it....I would imagine it was spanish.......anybody else heard of this make?
  16. My Heart bleeds for ya Glenn, I wouldn't be very happy at all with that, add that figure on top of the price you have paid in the first place and that equals one expensive trials bike. I had one of the first 125's when they came out and had nothing but good things to say about it......Just as well it never let me down judging by the game you've had. I know NB is the dogs B*****ks in the eyes of many, but I must admit when I've tried to buy stuff off him either by phone or web I've had no Joy in getting in contact....not a very good advert for a chap who's just taken over the importership of a brand.
  17. The bikes at Hawkstone were quite loud, I was walking back to the car park and I could hear Dougs bike when he was on his last lap (there was always a cheer after a big handfull ) Couldn't hear any other bike apart from the Mont

    Tricker

The tricker has been out for quite a while now, I think it only sells in Japan, and there is lots of different versions...I think there was a bit in MCN or TMX about it a while ago
  19. Did any of the riders ever make it big ?
  20. Must be one of the Southern clubs trials for a guess
  21. there going to be trick for sure, but at least it shows what can be done with the mont engine.
  22. The mont didn't seem to struggle in my eyes, the results show that!
