  1. the time was far too tight.I think that the club actually did too good a job with the trial and each section had about 10 hazards in it!I think it was probably a bit hard as when Dan Thorpe only dropped 6 in the Travers the week before and dropped 59 it was a bit too tough!I cant remember the last time Dan dropped 59 in a trial!Sam Haslam deserves full credit because I dont know how he got the bugger round for 35!stunning ride! The practise lap was ok as it was and then a fair few sections were tightened up which I didnt think was necessary,I know its a champ round but it was too hard for the majority of riders on the expert route.
  2. Fantastic insight into the running of the best trial in the world. The route marking is the best I have ever seen! Those moors don't seem to get any easier though! What I have found is that the bogs that don't look that bad are bottomless!!!I learn't the hard way by doing an impression of an olympic diver a few times!!!!Cracking trial and keep up the good work as it is very much appreciated!
  3. Rumour has it that Amos and Harry Lampkin are Doug's minders for 06
  4. You can normally get a dvd of the event towards the end of January.Duke used to do it and I think they still do.
  5. you can park in the centertainment if you want to get clamped,up to you!The security guards are very strict. There are plenty of places that offer cheaper parking near the arena though. If you are coming in from junction 34 then you will go past a big Mercedes garage on your right and then past the retail park on your left. You will then come to northern power tools on the left and it is normally signed for cheap parking up the street at the side.Hope this helps you.
  6. it does fit but the bottom of the carb needs filing off so it doesn't hit the casing. But the 125 doesn't need a keihin as the 28mm carb is too big. This is info from Paxau the Sherco main technician.it is not me trying to put you off!Believe me that guy knows what he is talking about!
  7. the keihin carb is 28mm diameter and it is too big for the 125,Malcolm told me that and also Lee says that Paxau says the keihin is wrong on the 125.Lee's bike from what I understand is a Paxau bike and they are hand built and he just polishes the ports out etc,the bike isn't that much different to standard.
  8. Why do you need a keihin (not kehin) carb?Lee Sampson doesn't have one on his!The keihin makes the bike smoother, the standard dellorto is quicker off the bottom end.
  9. Dont the youths have to be on 125's from next year?I didn't think they were allowed 250's?could be wrong
  10. I have been every year and we normally get there around 6ish,park up and normally go to burger king or something to pass a bit of time up,the parking isn't as bad as you think.
  11. Cant see Doug moving in reality but it would be great to see him back on a Beta!
  12. 1.SSDT 2.Jack Wood trial 3.Manx 2 day 4.Dave Rowland 5.Bemrose
  13. I wear Gaerne boots and I wear a normal pair of socks and either sealskinz or a pair of thermal socks over the top depending if its wet or not.I know some riders that wear up to four pairs of socks!
  14. Well it doesn't surprise me that were going along with the FIM.My personal thoughts are that trials is going backwards going back to hopping rules. When I started riding 14 years ago, there weren't that many riders that could do all the trick riding and it did look really impressive but then obviously as bikes are lighter and technique has improved it is far easier to hop about. My personal view is that it is more skillfull to do the trick stuff while your still going forward.I just think its going back to the old 'tyre to the left, inch to the right' etc etc.I know the riders aren't going to have the time to have lunch and a cup of tea with their minders half way through the section but my point is that its more skillfull to ride no-stop or at least get a dab for stopping which is less harsh than a five.I had to adapt from the hopping rules to no-stop when it came in in the late 90's and I found it difficult as I was brought up with the hopping.I know many of the top riders agree with me and don't want the FIM rule.I see the point with the youths and with Dougie doing the championship but we wont go into that in this post! Can we have the thoughts of some more experienced riders who like myself have ridden four sets of rules in the last 15 years and see what they think!
  15. Very interesting!must be 15 years since Saunders was last Beta mounted!I wonder if there will be any Beta converts in Steve's youth team!
  16. I bought the 05 review the other day and I must say it is the worst one yet and I have got every review from 1992 onwards! The same goes for the indoors on eurosport though, the cameraman gets too close and you can't see a thing.Does anybody know what happened to Bennett video? They used to make brilliant reviews back in the 90's.
  17. So did the test day confirm to anybody in doubt that the sherco is the best bike on the market? I could't believe how many people were there, none stop testing for 7 hours has got to be a success!
