Busto & Gas Gas Part Company
Busto's social media has seemed to indicate he might be taking a year out. He also appears to have been injured (ankle) quite recently.

The reason better be either (a) Busto has a ride elsewhere, or (b) GG has run out of money and can't pay him. Anything else is nuts. I hope he announces a new deal shortly.- Rim tape removal

Heat gun and your finger. WD40 and some elbow grease works as well.- Started engine with no oil
I've seen 2t's go without oil for hours, then go for another 200 and counting afterwards. I wouldn't worry about it.- Lower frame protection (the bit that gets hammered)

I'm Italian American (I was born in the US but have two passports/citizenships). My family emigrated from Chiusano, Avellino. As you may guess I never got to practice Trial in Italy, although I go back to visit Italy whenever I can. One day though...- 2019 Vertigo 300 fuel consumption

I haven't had mine in a while ('17 Ice Hell) but the wet map on mine was ridiculously rich. Try the normal map and see how it goes. As I recall mine didn't use a ton of fuel, but I also thankfully never had an Ossa to compare it to.- Have I missed something ?

Don shows up now and again. I heard anecdotally he may turn up more this year.- Have I missed something ?
My point was that all the best indoor riders are GP level riders without exception. Mateo Grattarola is a now T2 rider, former GP rider, who's ridden indoors before. By most accounts he would be a good bit more advanced than Pat, and he's never made much of an impact indoors. Several ridiculously talented T2 riders have recently ridden indoor (Peace, Aniol Gelabert, Haga) and gotten smoked. Again, all respect to Pat, but I don't see it happening.- Have I missed something ?
Pat is good, but as he said himself, his level is in the Trial 2 ballpark.- Have I missed something ?
They should probably combine the current 'consolation final' and the actual final into a single round. Just decide the whole podium in one shot.- Have I missed something ?
Note the wording: "one (s) represented above", as in the one or ones above. The one above in Bincaz. Clearly they've applied it as such, he's a permanent rider. It's also all somewhat irrelevant because the promotor has a large say in who turns up, and as relates to the original question, no one is really interested in Dabill because his results haven't been worth noting indoors.- Have I missed something ?
He didn't perform well enough last season to get into this season as a permanent rider, and he hasn't been invited as an event rider. The rules for selection are rather convoluted, but: There will be nine (9) Riders at each Event who will be selected by the Promoter and approved by the FIM as follows: Permanent (championship) riders: For the Championship: 1. The FIM X-Trial World Champion of the previous year, (Bou) 2. One of the top 5 Riders of the FIM X-Trial or TrialGP World Championship of the previous year. (Raga) 3. A Rider from the FIM X-Trial or TrialGP World Championship of the previous year and of a nationality different from the one (s) above. (Bincaz) 4. A Rider from the FIM X-Trial or TrialGP World Championship of the previous year and of a nationality other than the one (s) represented above. (Gelabert) 5. A Rider of the FIM X-Trial or TrialGP World Championship of the previous year, under 25 years old. (Busto) With the exception of the World Champion, the FIM/Promoter reserve the right not to select a Rider who is entered for the entire Championship if the Rider is not among the six top placed Riders in the provisional standings of the current year. Event riders: For each Event: All the Riders will be selected at least one month before each Event. 6. For the first Event, a Rider not selected fort he entire Championship, then for each of the remaining Events, the best ranked Rider of the previous Event who is not one of those selected for the entire Championship. 7. 1 Rider of a different Nationality from those represented above. At the exception of Rider N°6 8. 1 Rider under 25 years old. 9. 1 Wild Card Rider If a Rider declines an offer to participate, is injured, is unable to participate or no longer meets the Selection criteria, a replacement Rider will be selected by the Promoter and approved by the FIM. Event riders who have made appearances have been Peace, Sondre Haga, Gabrielli Marcelli, etc. i.e. Dabill hasn't been invited under the Event Rider provisions aside form I think the first round, and he hasn't done well enough under provision 6. to keep coming back.- New value for money GasGas
To totally derail this thread: I love GG's, but I really don't like that they're putting Ohlins shocks on them now. I also really don't like that they're 500-1000 USD more than a Beta or Sherco, the latter of which I can get with a Reiger. Since they're all worth the same money after a year... The bigger issue for me now is unloading year old GG's at decent money. When they went under for a year, everyone here that was on GG (which was a lot of people) bought TRS's, and no one is inclined to switch back. Beta and Sherco both have strong followings as well, so unloading a used one is a lot less problematic.- New value for money GasGas
I think I see what you're getting at now and I totally get it as someone that typically buys a bike every year. Case in point, my local dealer recently offered me a new Sherco at factory support pricing. While the difference in absolute dollars is great, I'm more happy having received such a nice offer from the dealer, which is why I keep buying from him.- New value for money GasGas
GasGas typically offers a big discount on outgoing models around here if they're still around when the next model year gets released. This shouldn't be a big surprise for anyone, all vehicle manufacturers do it to move inventory.- New value for money GasGas

You wouldn't. And if enough people feel the same, guess what? Nobody buys GG's in your neck of the woods, and the market corrects the problem with an out of business importer.- New value for money GasGas
I'm always a bit confused by these arguments. If you walk into a dealer, he offers you what you consider a ridiculously low sum for your bike, you walk out, what's the problem? Capitalism is about voluntary exchanges of goods and services that benefit both parties. If you feel taking part in the transaction is net negative for you, you walk away. If enough people feel the same, the person trying to do business either needs to modify the terms such that people start to feel otherwise, or they go out of business, either because they can't monetarily work a deal that benefits everyone or because they're unwilling to do so. The market fixes all these problems itself based on demand and willingness of all parties to arrive at an agreement. - Busto & Gas Gas Part Company
