  1. I completely agree with Woody (the voice of reason!) Ban 'em quick and explicitly before all is lost!
  2. I had a 200 Beta and it was soooo easy to ride - perfect choice I would say. Roger
  3. Steve This is a miller swing-arm, so it came with a mounting lug. Tensioner is from Sammy Miller, but the spring location would need improving (bit crap as standard) Roger
  4. Try Pro-Bolt at www.tastynuts.com - lots of shiny bits! Roger
  5. I agree, and if people could start writing yokes instead of yolks it would make the whole experience far more pleasant!
  6. When you have solved the problem of battery life and water-proofing, how about developing a sound chip that reads throttle position and motor speed and generates an i.c engine sound you can listen to via ear-bud headphones? You could then switch between 4rt death-rattle, Arial chuff-chuff or Triumph Twin rasp! You could even synchronise the bangs with power-pulses!
  7. One is probably where the alternator wire normally exits the chaincase via a grommet, the other a drain plug? Can i suggest that you bung them up? An old bit of wood should do! Roger
  8. Thank you, Mr Helmet - I will give him a ring. Roger

    Oko Carb

Pay the man in Southampton for the info, or do the development yourself. It is not that much extra.
  10. Ta! Definitely want a bash-plate. I will email some pics soon, and details for your register. Roger
  11. Looks good, Jim. Are you paying to have it hosted out of your own pocket? Roger
  12. Thanks, Jim, but the credit should go to RSC who made these lovely bikes in the first place! Didn't get to try it at the weekend due to an outbreak of man-flu in the household. I am hoping to make to the Peak Classic trial this Sunday (fingers crossed!) Roger
  13. Hi Steve Did he not speak scouse then? I sold a TLR 250 to a Spanish bloke called Joan 3 years ago - cannot remember his surname but his email address was bultacojoan@teleline.es He turned up one evening with a van full of twinshocks and a wodge of cash. If you sell to him and he offers you Euros, check the exchange rate for buying strerling, cos it is not the same as buying Euros! Would you believe you sent me an email back then enquiring about the bike? Was living in Whalley, Lancs at the time! (Small world,eh?) Roger
  14. I agree, but at some point the Chinese will turn their attention to quality rather than quantity, and the economies of the UK and USA will be sunk. Japanese cars were laughed at in the 70s, so don't think the Chinese will not be able to do the same. But don't worry, we will still have our service industries and our Starbucks. Big John, glad you like it!
  15. Thanks.Should find out on Sunday! Some pics of HONDARS250's RS250 (with his permission). Wow! Want one of these now...
  16. Thanks, schweizmeister. It will be better than me (not hard!). Engine is stroked to 230cc (I think) and plonks nicely! Zarkoff, Forks are standard RS200 and similar (same?) as TL - they are not fantastic, but are on my list of things to sort for Phase 2. Seeley forks are Marzocchi, same as a 200 Fantic (and never look right on a Honda, IMHO). HondaPants, You are shameless! Exhaust sounds great, and the RSC stickers make all the difference, I think. Many thanks for your help. Seat pad was cut out of some thick foam with a modified jig-saw (ground the teeth off a blade - works a treat). I will see what I can do. OKO carb is on the phase 2 list, too. Roger
  17. Hi Graham Forks re-plated, kevlar klutch plates, new cam chain, OKO carb(?), better mudguards, alloy airbox, titanium spindles... Hi Gary Either the green route at ESTC or the Peak Classic trial the following weekend. Nor sure which yet - the rocks at the Yennards scare me and that petrol tank! Roger
  18. Just thought I would show off the fruits of my labour for the last couple of months. Now to get it dirty!
  19. Mike This was according to Ian at Ellastone Offroad. He had a Japanese mag from 82 that contained an article on the 'New' RS200T which had a reference to the previous model (ugly RS200TS). It's puzzling that they would make that between the TL200 and the (very similar) RS200T though, so I could be wrong. Jim, My tongue was in my cheek! Roger
  20. Hi Jim As I understand it we have: TL200 1980 (very similar to RS200T) RS200TS 1981 (ugly one, frame based on XL185) RS200T 1982, 1983 (beautiful one, early ones have steel swingarm, later ones alloy like yours) RS250T 1984? (like the one you want!) RS250TA 1985,1986 (Home market TLR250F, like yours) All built by RSC that became HRC in 1987 The above base on what other people have told me, so all of questionable reliability. Any corrections welcome. Well done for volunteering to set up a register! Mike The RS125 racer would be the first of the water-cooled models with a 4-stud head, I think. There used to be loads about from around 1984 onwards. Later models blew them into the weeds - I had a 1986 RS125 that did just that. In 1987 Honda introduced the alloy beam frame RS125s that then blew them into the weeds. Happy days! Roger
  21. Frame looks genuine - don't think a Whitlock frame has the tag for the clutch cable. Would want to know the engine number before parting with that much money. Anyone care to guess the reserve?
  22. Support Wrighty! He started it...
  23. You could always ask Gordon for a cash injection - tell him your piggy bank's broke (lent 10 times its contents to ne'er do wells...)
