I tried a few but nano-trans worked the best for me.

Don't be scared to ask for a five if you don't fancy having a go at a section. Pay close attention to the line you need to be on, its easy to go the wrong way when theres a load of flags in front of you. Don't rush round if you think you're getting behind, its better to just do 3 laps comfortably & learn stuff, rather than push too hard to finish the 4th & crash because your knackered.. Make sure your tyres are the correct pressure at the start, no more than 4psi rear, 6psi front. This venue can be slippy. Have fun, i'll probably see you there.

Don't take offence, but are you sure you used the correct oil and premix ratio? You did say you were new to trials. If so then the dealer would have to be very hard faced to wash his hands of this, considering they have had the engine apart recently.

Is it running weak? Fuel pump? Seems to be one or two people having fuel pump issues.

Not the best choice for a first trials bike, heavy, tall & unpopular. I would look elsewhere.

I have a '16 evo 300 and yes it is soft at the bottom, more so than the evo 250 I had before. I find this to be an advantage as it's grip finding qualities are even better!

Maybe, but if his bike won't rev more than half way, he's going to get pi$$ed off very quickly, if he doesn't get hurt attempting any climb first.

I've just swapped my 2013 250 for a 2016 300 so can offer a direct comparison. The 300 is easier to ride (for joe clubman like myself), it is slower off the bottom and smoother than the 250, therefore offering more grip finding ability. Also having more torque allows more gear choice in the sections, effectively giving you an extra gear to play with. The 250 was a great bike but was a bit quick off the bottom even with the flywheel weight fitted, this 300 is just that bit better.

What are you trying to improve?

Don't buy either until you've tried them both, these two have quite different characters & some people simply just don't gel with a particular bike. You have tried them haven't you? Then get the one you like best.

That's down to people not thinking it through!

Try a larger diameter breather pipe.

As the top riders may technically still be under contract, they obviously can't make an announcement to the world. Cat/bag though!
