Does anyone know how to contact Mike Pearce? as the facebook group doesn't seem to accept new members (well, me anyway)
-
Robins jumbo has lost its spark, prototype electronic ignition may be tried out, if it works it's going on my TX370!
-
Yeah, we had a conversation about the TX, I was on the beta evo. Nice to have met you without realising!
Are you going to the upcoming 2 day classic trial? 26/26th June?
-
Cumberland club trial at Brownrigg fell at the beginning of April, were you there?
-
Haha! Nothing has happened yet, although theres a customers jumbo coming in for attention, then it should be at the front of the queue!
-
I'm seeing more 315s appearing at trials recently, prices seem to be increasing too.
-
Where do you get tyres for a 15" gas gas ??
-
What does it turn like with the forks raked-out like that?
-
What engine is that??? Did he tell you it had been converted?
-
Why not get a gas gas one? make life simple.
-
Aren't MV already in WSB?
-
B40rt, usually the wheel rotates forward, you would have to be very unlucky to get your fingers in there whilst travelling backwards!
-
What twinshocktosser said.
It's not a chain guide.
-
That's a great video, thanks for posting.
-
Stainless steel pretty unsuitable material for a bike frame no?
Why do you want to do this?
-
A trail bike such as a TS185 would be a nightmare to ride trials on!!
If you wanted light & nimble then a yam TY175 would be handy with one or two tweaks.
Are you specifically looking for an older twinshock, like early/mid '70s?
-
Looks big/heavy & has 4 stroke motor.
For that reason I'm out.
-
When I had an '05 sherco this used to be the same.
The clutch would "hang on" for a second after you pulled the lever in, causing the bike to keep pushing on or stall.
I tried various oils, cleaning up the plates, filing the basket smooth etc, None of this cured it though.
Sold it & bought a beta. That clutch dragged but can be mostly fixed by using nano-trans.
-
Just to clarify, you think the throttle isn't very responsive but it's too quick?
Can you expand a bit on this please?
-
Any new bike needs a bit of pre-emptive maintenance.
An hour or two with the tools & grease/copperslip/Loctite can prevent major headaches later.
-
Hose.
Hot soapy water.
Brush.
-
There was no 350. That was just a cast part number.
-
-
Unless you have your suspension way too hard and you have decent tyres at the correct pressures, then its all about technique I'm afraid.
Have you tried using different gears/revs/speeds on the same hill again & again to see what difference it makes?
-
change plug, check fuel flow, check tank cap vent, remove & clean carb & check float levels.
If no improvement you must check stator, these are very unreliable especially on older shercos (and I know) you would be looking at about £180-£200 to get an exchange one from splat shop.
