Changed oil every 5 trials using nanotrans, no probs, worked perfect.

More information needed.
Is the lever spongy or firm?
If firm then bleeding not required.
Are you talking of lack of "bite" from the pads?, if so they may be contaminated along with the disc.

There was a gas gas Contact JTR 370 in 1996, these were blue in colour, google will show you. The "370" model didn't continue on after this, & im pretty sure they weren't actually 370cc either.
Yours looks like a 1998 TX, but the barrels weren't red on those, so could be an older barrel off a 320 from an earlier model.

There are plenty of used trials bikes to choose from, the ossa might be ok for parts currently but why would you risk buying one now when there are many other bikes available from established brands?
-
How does running out of time affect fuel management? No time to check level?
-
Yes that's what it looked like, costly mistake as it turned out.

Adam Raga's bike cuts out at the worst moment at the uk trialGP.
He had to push the bike back to the paddock.

Wow, there was a secret drawer full of rotax gear shafts! They appear to be the same between 350 & 240/280 motors. 13.6mm 31 spline. All the climbers I've owned & seen had a steel gear lever, I've never seen an alloy one, even on bosis & ahvala's bikes.

There are many many rotax parts "under the bench" at his house, i'll get him to have a look this afternoon.

Welcome to the forum & to trials!
Bike looks in remarkable condition for its age, not sure what the handling is like with that monstrous bar riser setup though!!, also chain tension seems a bit tight, all easily sorted.
Enjoy your bike

Post a picture & we'll tell you the year.

I would buy the one which suited my riding style the best after a test. To buy a trials bike using other criteria doesn’t make sense surely.

Montessori?
Guess you mean Montesa, welcome to the forum, its a great place, glad you found trials riding, as you say, it is the pinnacle of motor sports!
-
If other people can kick it no problem, that suggests its not the bike that needs adjusting.
-
I'd start with the carb, check float height & full clean.

Any off road motorcycle shop, or online.
-
That's your exhaust packing, you're supposed to change it when it gets clogged, its not there to stop things rattling, its to keep your bike quiet.
-
Tell the buyer you don't know the parts situation as you haven't needed any, its up to him to research parts availability for something that doesn't even need fixing.

Think BVM have started to do some on their vlog.

As above, virtually no difference between the maps on 2013 evo, I spent a bit of time riding the same section over & over using both settings, the only difference I could detect was at peak revs, which I never use anyway.

This era of sherco were very well known for stator failure, mine did it, some peoples had 2 or 3!
The bike would fire up when the system had cooled down, then cut out when warm, revs would also fluctuate.

The water heated crankcase caused the main bearings to spin in the case, this was the reason it was dropped v. quickly.
Ask me how I know!!
