Dont think that is something Rossi has ever worried about!! Damn, that Kwacker looks well fine!!(prob crap results tho')
-
Thanks for the info. I have found that to make the scorpa go up anything remotly big, you have rev the tits off it in third, but then it will fly up - anything! Probably looking for the same feel as yourself, but if it starts losing traction performance then that would be a shame, coz its amasing for grip I probably need to get a lot more used to it, at the moment its complety standard uk bike.
As you said, its slightly slower on the pick up. I was just seeing what you thought about the conversion. The ideal situation would be to ride one i supose!!
Thanks again

As you have to actually skim weight off the flywheel on a Scorpa as oppose to just taking a weight off like a Beta et al, why dont you experiment with the timing first as that wont cost anything to change back if you dont like it.
cheers Brad.

I laughed outloud reading that line from you, like them guys are going to ride that? you nuts?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Taddy, Freixa and Kuroyama will all three be riding "that" this year. They are signed on with the Scorpa factory, to do so.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
HA take that duuudes!

yip, i know!!! thats what i got, 'cept mines manual!!

yep i concour, looks like the same wheel to me.
-
Greg, try the new Navara, after an L200 it will blow you away! really, handling performance and ride (few niggles notwithstanding)they really are that good!! and its quick enough to worry rep-mobiles! and thats without the P-BOX(see above) and Bri it makes that ford thingy look like a horse and cart!
-
You are a hard man to please R2 !!
p.s since when was an a k&n an open filter??maybe a bell-mouth type like on yer old stuff could be classed as open...hmm glad yer not building my street fighter!
-
Had mine for a year and got no problems to report, despite my hamfisted mechanical skills!! as Jools says the backfiring is due to people kicking it over like fannies and hold your finger on the kill switch until the engine has stopped fully also. oh yeah and the 05 is better colours than the 04 which has the frame in a non-descript blue.
-
Looks like a bit of CAD going on there, cannabis aided design!
-
Erm, broken cd player on delivery, took a month or more to get the bits.
knackered steering rack which took 2 months to replace which meant i nad to constantly top up the power steering fluid , not a problem in its self but you never knew when it was going to run low which meant the steering could tighten up mid corner, quite scary when you are going quick!!
Now when they fitted the new rack the anti-roll bar thingys have popped out which means mega sloppy handling (not so clever with 174bhp on tap) and yet another trip to the dealers!, although these guys have been very good its not them its the vehicle itself!
Besides all this, mine may be fairly isolated incidents and despite this i still luuurrve to drive it, as it is a million times nicer to drive than my L200 animal i had prior to this.
Oh yeah and it goes like fooook
-
Has anyone else got a new model navara?, if so have you had any grief with it yet? just that mine is begining to pee me off a wee bit
-
Me too, bring it on, trust a scotsman to be so quick to take yer dosh

Mark, you to***r i spend an age doing up my SY250, Anodized yokes, bars, clamps, swingarm, powder coated frame, 06 back mudguard the works or so i thought!! and you come up with a "Russ mitchell(exile choppers)esque look" paintwork and black virtually everything!! boo hoo its not fair i love flames!!

I think you will find this is exactly how 99.99% of trail bike riders have behaved in the past (i know myself and my mates did and all other TRF members act the same) and look where this has got trail riding, bunched in with nobs on mx bikes, paris dakar wanabee land rover drivers with 35" mud tyres, unfortunatly in this country it isnt the majority which matter its a few ramblers with mates in high places that get things done!! grrr rant over thanks.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's a fair point but I reckon as a trials riding community the vast majority of us, and that includes me, mumble about these problems on our insular self contained forums and never get off our backsides to collectively do anything really constructive about it in the same co-ordinated and coherant way that the Ramblers Association (or whoever they are) do.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Trouble is how many trials riding polititians do you know???Bet there are loads that go rambling and/or have houses near to byways/boats/rupps etc!!
-
Steady on Stu, I think that's a bit harsh. Not defending these guys or condoning their actions for one moment but I think the general public will always have the intelligence to recognise and understand that the minority often ruin things for the majority.
We have to make sure as responsible riders that we are always polite, courteous and careful when we mix with walkers and horse riders when we come across them in a trial - slow right down, even stop and maybe switch off the engine. I always try and get eye contact and smile, it doesn't do (us) any harm.

As Marky says practice makes perfect, if you have a bicycle of some sort learn on that first it is one of those things that transfers real easy....good luck!!

HAM, i have an 04 model and mine is very much like the cheese you refer to, nothing like chalk at all.
I dont know the exact differences but i suspect besides the obvious colour changes its the usual jetting, porting and suspension changes in a very beta-esque style i.e you would not notice unless you rode both bikes back to back or you are some kind of pro.
As i said i have an 04 SY250 and i find it a very reliable and easy to ride trialler (after a 250PRO gasser)i think whichever you go for you would not be dissapointed, hope this helps.
BRAD.
