If i were to buy an sy-f 143 (or whatever) i would either get the pipe sent off and chromed(or teflon coated, yes really!!) or buy a new pipe, send that off and try sell the original, a rusty front pipe (fnnrr-fnnrr) would drive me mad!!

Birketts do a steel one, i got one after bending the stock ally one and it has been fine.

Depending on where you are in the world?, there were a couple of pipes made by Nigel Birkett to improve the performance and bring it up closer to that of the TYZ motor (same engine) which year (if not all) they fit or even if any of these pipes made it out of captivity is anyones guess!!

Problem is with a smaller company like Scorpa a project like that takes money,from other, realistic projects R&D. Wheras a company like the big 4 has a multi million dollar budget for prototypes that never even go out the front door. Though it looks as though Scorpa did not blow too much on the effeort. Its a Yamah engine,frame,swingarm and hubs. I think Scorpa should stick with the trials bikes...it seems they certainly have a winner there! Its a Scorpa frame swingarm,frame and hubs and why shouldnt they muck about with new ideas, with french flair instead of the japanese cold calculated way!! its what (as i have said before!) makes things fun and different i mean without crazy ideas we would of never had such beautys as the Lotus 340R or the Ariel Atom would we! And check out this weeks MCN (groan!) for a piccy of the new proposed Scorpa road bike!!!!!

HL's hubby? Having seen HL at the tc bash (about a million years ago) we all thought she was fine! (but we are from yorkshire!!)
