  1. There's part numbers on here , you might also find some other visual info I thought one of the ptbs had a small usb type slot but could be wrong http://www.montesa4rt.nl http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/27885-throttle-body-identifying/
  2. Try the cheese counter at asda or morrisons That's what most gas gas bolts are made from
  3. Hi has anyone got a contact or know if camping is available at the venue
  4. They are pictured on a Spanish site and says , coming soon
  5. I see the new boots are coming out soon Anyone got anymore info
  6. Same here and if there's nowt round lay it on the floorThat's where it spends most of its time anyway One thing I would say is be careful running those peg hangers because of you ride rocky stuff or likley to be battering the foot pegs , there is more risk of you snapping the frame , there doesn't look like there's much give in those Unless you really need repositioned pegs , I'd be inclined to replace them with standard hangers Sorry just noticed the link , it is early
  7. Pack some sarnies Think you going bit ott with the oil change john

    Ptb Mapping

You only have to usually change a map out of choice and not necessarily as routine maintenance And the more experience in maps usually the better the job And one of the most experienced chaps was munch Sadly this experience has now gone I've spend hours messing with carbs , leaking petrol , running rich/lean Not any more due to Efi Some folk are not computer savvy the same as some don't know about pilot and main jet sizing , float level ect Don't worry I'm guessing you'll be getting electricity round your parts pretty soon
  9. Ive got a mitani titanuim I can't tell any difference at all other than its lighter and looks a nice blue colour
  10. Trials must be the cheapest form of motorsport even cycling entry fees cost more (and the bikes) When I started trials it probably cost me less for my bike and gear than it does just to enter half a dozen road races
  11. Have you tried mce or msm
  12. Don't know about an outfit but you can get two bikes sitting straight with the bars turned into a renault kangoo if you remove the spot welded in floor panel behind the front seats
  13. A big thanks and thumbs up to Jr sunt for sorting me out with the parts to get my showa shock serviced and repaired
  14. If your swapping because they look great and if you don't think the newer model will improve your results then save yourself a few grand and upgrade the one you've got I've got 14 plastics and flat tank and other bits and bobs on my 05 and to me it looks no different to any other year
  15. Don't understand what you mean about if we see a 300rr sold in the UK ? They are , I know someone who's been riding his for about a month now , purchased from a UK supplier And it's had a few mods already
  16. If you've no joy in finding a frame get the old one re welded by a proper welder and a few strengthening gussets while your at it
  17. If its about raising the profile of the sport the best thing is attract high profile people Most notable at the moment is guy martin , and foggy having a go The fan base of riders like these are more likely to have a look at what trials is about than your average joe watching sunday night tv
  18. I'm not sure if I'm even on the right track with this topic Is the issue not recognising rider achievement or not promoting a sport Unfortunately some sports and top participants in said sports don't get airtime , coverage, or promotion that some participants think it should get There's many sports in which we've had word champions in yet no one ever hears about it Or really cares You do your chosen sport for yourself and your own goals Yes recognition for your efforts is always a bonus but unfortunately it's not always there If it's about promotion of the sport I still stand by my comments you can put as much as you like on TV or in the press and it's still only gonna appeal to a limited amount Go through a list of top riders in the UK or world and look how many come from families or friends that participated in trials beforehand I think very few came into the sport through promotional means
  19. The promotion of trials has nothing to do with the acu It's it's almost exclusively down to the riders I think there's quite a few reasons it's hard to get people interested The bikes for starters They are not fun for much else other than trials , so folk won't buy them for a bit of fun and move on to what they are really designed for From a spectator point If you watch world indoor /outdoor it is more spectacular than the norm but not many people watching other than current riders will think " yeah ill have a crack at that" But watch an average club trial and I think most will think ,dare I say , boring Yes it is probably one of the cheapest forms of motorsport , but you can't just jump on a trials bike and do exciting stuff But people that can ride a bike can jump on a road bike , motocross , enduro and wizz round at thrilling speeds with little effort And not spend hour upon hour falling off and trying again Those of us the already participate know what it's about and the sense of achievement Historically it's usually family or close friends the are introduced into the sport because they get a better understanding what it's about To promote and get people involved outside the sport is an uphill struggle , tv or not The acu dont itroduce friends family to the sport , the riders do
  20. I think because the 4rt is a bit docile and lacks the instant punch of a 2 stroke you have to be a lot more aggressive and give it a proper handfull on the slippy stuff , also ive found ive subconsciously started to hang more off the back and find the front wheel spending a fair bit of time off the ground on quite a few occasions It will grip Pussy foot around on one and they're like a fat lumbering efalump But give it some and it's a totally different animal
  21. Go for the newer model supposed to be better than the early ones That said I ride an 05 and came from a 300 raga and still prefer my old dinosaur 4rt The biggest factor is the rider , what level are you , what are you looking to achieve I'm not a great rider so the bike doesn't make much odds to my results
  22. Like john said you'll probably hate a 4rt to start with , especially this time of year I thought I'd made a big mistake But once you've got to grips with it you'll be fine Doubt I'll go back to a 2 stroke now
  23. Been investigating the repair of the showa The service kit or to have it serviced is a reasonable price but my lower shock body is battered to death where the spherical bearing fits , it's worn /oval Banyeres do sell just the bottom at over 400 euros then factor in the service and it works out at the price of a new ohlins I'm not a very good rider and only want a non leaky /no play shock that I can adjust For the best price , I can't justify spending a fortune on a shock that will be wasted on me
  24. Yes your quite right about a nitrogen compartment, just reading the fox manual about maintenance, Do not pressure wash ( could apply to lots of things), keep the air sleeve lubed, service regular Not so set on the idea again now seems a little fragile Yes was speaking to mojo today , very helpful The shock is acut ally only 332 and 15 for the adapter to fit the 4rt
