  1. Obviously! Mark Berg had wanted lower pricing, but he said EM couldn't be dissuaded. I think they decided that USA early adopters have deep pockets and they needed to exploit that.
  2. USA pricing for EM has been essentially EU price including VAT and then transport costs. I had long discussions with EM's Jean Pena and EM USA's Mark Berg about this. No other trials manufacturer does this for the USA. Their logic for this is the different requirements for 120v charging in the USA add cost. Maybe some, but not 20%. A big reason I didn't buy an EM....
  3. The hardest day is the first wet spring day you ride without studs.....
  4. It must be because I have newer Factory models and that I'm an old school rear brake dragging woods racer?
  5. I run the Jitsie Race rear lever on my ‘21 and stock lever with an aftermarket rear facing tip on the ‘23. I like the modified stock better.
  6. I'm a rear brake user.... we ride a lot of steep downhills in wet and dry. I also use my rear brake a lot in tight turns. I have a '21 Factory 200 which I did upgrade to an NG FIM rear disc and a '23 Factory 200 with the stock one. The rear brake works as good or better than my previous Gas Gas and Scorpas did. It seems very consistent to me. What do you feel?
  7. It could be better worded, but not as ambiguous as you think. Other than the previous season's class champion having the option to run number 1 on their plate, no rider numbers are assigned or required. The plate must have the correct colour background, and class designation. NATC/AMA supplementary rules for USA Nationals are similar, but also require rider name and State of residence. Yes calling it a number plate, when no number is required.... seems odd. Number plate or number board is the generally used name for this on a trials bike. Maybe class plate would be a better term in this case?
  8. OP is in the USA, so he needs to take it up with Tim Pilg of Beta USA. I'm sure his dealer will help him out.
  9. You can buy the part and add it.
  10. Starting MY '23 the Factory model no longer has the lower compression adjuster.

    EVO 200 MY 23 ?

Yes, it is stock 11/42 gearing.
  12. Feel on a Beta Evo clutch is all over the map, regardless of Braktec master on the Factory or Grimeca master on the Standard. The larger 30mm slave cylinder from Hippel Racing, has improved feel on my last two Factory models.

    EVO 200 MY 23 ?

    So what bike replaced it?

    EVO 200 MY 23 ?

A friend who is is presently riding a 2007 Scorpa SY250, is getting a 2024 Beta 250. He rode my 200 and a 250, and he felt that the 250 was smoother. I still find that the ground speed on the 250 is just a tick faster for me, so the next obstacle comes up faster.

    EVO 200 MY 23 ?

I had a '21 200 Factory, to which I added the Beta Heavy flywheel. I now have a '23 200 Factory with the standard flywheel, and like it better. It's a tad snappier and still has plenty of grunt. It raised my riding a level. It has near the power of a 250, but slightly lower ground speed with stock gearing. I ride in the Finger Lakes region of NY, and our conditions are quite muddy year round.
  16. I always rode enduro bikes in the winter on screws or studded tires, and a dirt track bike with full ice racing tires on the lake. It seemed natural to me when I started riding trials 6 years ago, to figure out some studded tires for winter. However... I ended up not doing it, but do ride all winter without studding up. I ride at the Tryals Shop with the owner Mike Komer. We shovel and snow blow a couple of sections all winter long. If it gets icy, we spread a little sand around. The lower traction really makes you work on being smooth, with momentum, timing, and body position, as going to the throttle is not a great option. You ride smaller obstacles, but you're still getting a work out, and improving your skills for the wet riding coming next season.
  17. If you haven't already, you should contact this club.... https://www.sactopits.org/
  18. I mean you take a tie down and run it from bars to fork bottom and compress the front end to lower it slightly, before you load the bike.
  19. That's my van above. The Husky TE150 is lowered 1" It's a long wheelbase Maxi.
  20. I have the USA version of the Fiat Doblo Maxi. I can fit a Beta X-Trainer in it. A typical MX or Enduro bike has to have the front end strapped down a bit, for the bars to clear the rear entry.
  21. With a duff right knee, I love my left kick Beta Evo, as it starts so easily. If I ever go back to a right kick bike (previous bike was a Scorpa), it's going to need to be an e start one. TRS is out for me, as my dealer doesn't sell them. I'm guessing Sherco/Scorpa will be the next e start bike, as they have a new engine design. I would imagine that they designed the ability to add e start to it. The new bike is quite a bit lighter, so adding it won't be a big weight disadvantage over the old bike. Vertigo has been having rumblings that e start is coming for over 2 years, but nothing yet. Gas Gas will probably have a new EFI engine with e start to go in their new frame in a year or so. I have a Beta X-Trainer, and the e start works better than any other 2T enduro bike I've owned. That said... I added the kick start kit, because of a bad experience with an e start only Sherco. Battery went flat, and I had to push it up a muddy hill to bump start it.
  22. No big issues. It's a 5 year old bike now, so just look at how it has been maintained. If it's been ridden a lot and no one has greased the swinging arm, linkage, and steering stem, you'll be spending time and money.
  23. Believe it or not.... Sammy Miller had advocated for many years for a narrower, harder compound spec tire for world trials.
