I wonder would National Service be such a bad thing if brought back? Okay I never had to do it so it is easy for me to say, but look at the C**p that we see on the news every week. Kids shooting kids etc etc etc. There has been talk of education until 18 yrs of age, maybe it is another path to take. Or of course you could be a "hoodie" and pay a fine for not being educated up to 18 which would be paid by the tax payer, me and you as they collect the dole, benefits or what ever they call it nowadays. Thanks for the replies. Spoke to Mitsui Yamaha today, they confirmed it is a 1988 TY250 r and a Japanese home market bike. (Grey import. )

Mikuni carb with choke on opposite side, Eikoh sticker on shock reservoir red spring non adjustable res ?? On close inspection there has been white paint on the fork lowers. Cant see coil at present. The r chain guide is alloy as normally nylon/ plastic and the crankcase protector in front of the f sprocket is thicker alloy and silver ?? It was ebay item no 130167394644. Sorry I don't know how to do the link.

Has anyone here done the footpeg mod by moving the whole bracket down the frame tube?? I reckon the pegs want to be about an inch and half lower ?? Any other trick mods for the TY mono ??

J K Hirst do them.( IT Piston used) I had a 270 converted mono it was like a motocrosser. They say there are 270s and there are 270s. They need to be well sorted, not just a case of a rebore. Personally I would leave 250 if you can as it is an expensive gamble. Or talk to Birkett he knows his onions.

Didn't the S have a metal tank?. This one has a plastic tank same as the R. No steering lock. There is a cyl head bracket that bolts to the frame at the back of the head same as a pinky has. Also the fork bottoms look as though they have never been painted they are laquered alloy. Forks did not seem different to a pinky I once owned, not too soft.

I have just purchased a TY 250 mono, white frame silver wheels.Engine number 53Y but no numbers(common on Jap mkt bikes) Frame no begins 3BB 000*** It has a Mitani flywheel cover, Eikoh silencer tail pipe and a guard on the black silencer box next to your left leg. Also a well made fibreglass tank cover that bolts over original tank. The r mudguard is solid, no holes for a r light etc, sadly it is split.I am wondering if it is a Grey import, I bought it from Staffordshire. Any info appreciated, thanks in advance

Re the Honda engine one, there are a couple in this country with Honda or Jialing motors fitted in Gloucester area. I was going to do one and then I discovered the Scorpa 125 and bought one instead.

Finally managed to smash the speedo on my 125 Scorpa, so now after the horse has bolted so to speak I have removed it. Does any one know if there is a speedo drive eliminator/ spacer or WHY to fit the 125. Thanks in advance.

I have decided to get the Seeley out and it has still got the original tyres on so I need to change them. Just wondering what you Seeley riders are using and are happy with. I believe tubed tyres are getting harder to find in some makes and some t/ less dont work on tube rims. Thanks in advance.

Apparently they love Magical Mick over there and there is a small strong following of anything TY but especially Majesty. I have mine here ready to sort and Pitley has his sorted. I know of another Godden framed one that is sat doing nothing and needs rescuing. Go to youtube type in Mick Andrews and see him on his at Larchant trial and see other vids on right of page. All the French vids I think. Any of the French users on here ????

I have one of the last ones made here. Not trialled it properly yet only out occasionally due to improving my riding on the Scorpa. Not into the hopping around type trials so I need to go twinshock/ classic route asap, just found a Majesty 250 to sort but may be tempted to take the Seeley out. ( Still on original tyres) How many have you had now Scrumpy ???

The Miller kit is on the Majesty in Classic dirtbike from earlier in the year. There is a 320 just gone on ebay today.
