He's taking the pi$$. Go on tell us who are you really ?

Many ebay traders do not have the premises and overheads the big boys have so therefore should be able to give a better deal but clearly do not. I will shop around every time, if some one is charging more to stay afloat that's not my problem. If petrol was
-
He has been at it since I can remember. How many times has that tatty 200 Honda been on and then pulled off. Another trick is to up the price of parts through the week. See my other thread in Trials talk re other ebay dealers not playing ball.
-
Sorry. Hard times so charge more???????????????? Not good practice. A certain trader that is on the bay is taking the p*** big time, not the only one on there. End of the day it is a sport that is growing again slowly so why do they do it?? Rant over.
-
Not got a Beta myself but I think this is a common problem with them. It has been mentioned on here a few times recently. I don't think the seller would have known though. Time to bite the bullet and pay the 130 as I doubt you can repair them.
-
I see the one on ebay was pulled off with an error in the listing (apparently)

Whilst trawling the web to order some parts for the Majesty, cables a lever etc. Non genuine parts I noticed how the prices vary by pounds and not pence for simple stuff like cables etc. Is it me or has anyone else here noticed the same. I do when I can support the firms that advertise on TC but of the ones in question none advertise on here. At the end of the day J K Hirst got my business and they will get future business from me. I would like to name and shame the greedy one but I am sure I would get a slapped wrist from TC .
-
mollygreen well done they look like a similar mod being sold by BJ racing. I am pondering which way to go with the pegs on my TY Majesty. The Miller ones are too thin in the plate and bend, the Tytrials ones are not currently available and I am not sure what Hirsts are selling same as Miller or tytrials. Any body noticed there are some greedy firms out there (no names)

I remember reading about them years ago. Also when I was at college back in the day we did a project on his idea for the long swingarm etc. Good bit of film.
-
They reckon the stronger outer cases cause you to damage the crankcase if it gets a clout as they are that strong. Magical Mick mentioned it testing a Maj in Classic dirt bike mag. PS dont get drilling lightening holes in the flywheel you are bound to f**k the balance of the motor. I will be removing the weight off my Majesty soon
Rode Pitleys a while back and it was just right.
-
Yamaha will issue you with a dating letter for free if you write to them with the eng and frame numbers etc. You don't need a speedo for mot test, daft as it sounds it is a legal requirement if you go on the road.
Google Yamaha for the address.
PS Reflector required on the rear.
-
Well done Pitley, see you there, I will be going O 40 Aircooled??
-
Any idea what sort of price the one in the raw cost to have made over there. (the frame)
The other is a beauty, though not quite finished. Can't see a kickstart???
Oh look at those forks, what ever you do don't mention the forks, I did once but I think I got away with it.
-
I see that there are still issues with the 08 bikes on/off clutch same as the 125s were. Best thing is the adjustable clutch lever. Should be sorted at the factory now though.
-
"Madhouse" what madhouse
Buy the Mont, I haven't got one but it is a Honda so it should be good.
PS welcome to TC.
-
It was all getting a bit technical until Paioli's post then it came back down to earth. Nice one, no nonsense modifications. Grinder + brickwall
No doubt picking the brains of J B.

I saw a Gollner TLR mono conversion at Malvern, 200 or 250 not sure. Anyway what if you came across one of these and converted it to twinshock, who would you be upsetting then......... just a thought. Would you be going back to what it was or converting a A/C mono to twinshock.
PS do a search " todays classics" and you will find the Bliss t shock or a similar one in the photos on the subject by Motomerlin.
-
Anyone here know which front brake plate is used when converting the front brake on a TY250 mono to use an external arm as opposed to the enclosed one. I have one but it has been repaired and just need to sort a new plate. It is a Yamaha plate and has magnesium in raised letters on it. Thanks in advance.

"in the right hands" Yes Frenchie you hit the nail on the head there. If I was on the shiniest all singing and dancing Majesty or anything else the problem would be it would not be "in the right hands". But I can only try.....
-
Is the frame number at front of headstock in small numbers or is it to the right hand side as normal. Godden frames were at the front and smaller stamps than Yamaha. Just a thought ??
-
That has been tampered with, possibly a long time ago. I would try and get a set of crankcases and change the internals over. But if you do not intend to register the bike then leave it. Do the frame numbers start with the numbers Woody quoted ??
-
On the block where the engine number is stamped has it got the fine cast/machined lines going down through the numbers as all Yamahas had in those days? If not then the number may have been tampered with in the past, also is it registered for the road, this does not make much odds as if years ago you told DVLC your eng no was your date of birth say 01091963 then they would put it on the V5 as that. And back then if it was inspected to register they sometimes didn't know their ass from their elbow. depending who inspected it.
-
That explains why when I tried to look at the sale last night through watched items it would not let me see it. I did bid on your ignition but was out bid, I had to bid last night as I am not near a computer at the time it finished or through the day. Never mind. I think you are best to use ebay as a shop window and you don't get stuffed for the fees at the end. I put a Seeley on a couple of weeks ago, second caller next morning sent a deposit that day. Cheers.
PS. How much do you want for the tank.
PPS. I know it's not a twinshock but a Pinky in bits fetched
