Hey Malcra have you been on the sauce ?????
-
To John Collins. Re the Wye Valley twinshock event. I believe it was cancelled due to fears over the Foot and Mouth thing. Also the entries were slow coming in but they apparently flooded in at the last minute. I was going to observe on the day. Malcra will vouch for the reason for cancelling.
I think it will run again asap, Pitley and crew put a lot of work in to it so it will be a pity to waste it.
-
I have trawled about 13 pages to find info but no joy. Which is the best kit available to reposition TY 250 twin shock pegs. I know Millers do a bolt on kit, are there any better ones available, it seems good value but the kid on the phone was not too sure whether it lowered them by much.
PS its a Yam framed Majesty.

If there is nothing too daunting may get the Honda out, it is taxed n tested etc just need to persuade Pitley out,
Where and when are regs available? Cheers.
-
Sorry Woody I deleted the forks thing as I found it had been spoken about more than once before, and you were in on the subject as well. I have decided to fit a mono forks and wheel set as it seems the easiest option. I will be gathering the parts required as and when I find them and then sort the forks, shocks and peg position etc and take it from there.
The ironic thing is re the tail pipe the seller has a Majesty for sale with the wrong tail pipe now. Cheers
-
I found a Shirty tailpipe on ebay, again the seller did not know what it was for, a bit of luck as I looked in his other items and spotted it. The post cost more than the silencer.
-
I have not seen Amsoil in the UK, I may be wrong?? What did Shirtys silencer achieve? Also this bike must have been an early one, is it right there are no records for production etc. Cheers.
PS. There are air fork tops fitted, but I have been advised to find a mono set of forks and wheel if I can. The forks I have feel a bit c""p.
-
Andy T, I asked about all the obvious things to tell a Majesty apart from an original TY, various frame mods to raise motor which has been spoken about elsewhere on here in the past and all the boxes were ticked as well as laid down shocks etc etc, the seller thought he was selling a standard TY 250. Also the S O G thing probably applies
Woody the bike was sold in 1985 by Evesham Motorcycles to a London buyer for

Cheers Woody, it was ebay item no330163579334. Sorry dont know how to do the link thing. On reflection I dont think I will worry about the cosmetics etc just get it riding as I want etc. Otherwise if it ends up too pretty I wont want to ride it as it should be ridden. Pegs are a mile high and this one has no rear suspension at present. Did they make a tailpipe for the exhaust system to replace the Yamaha one like a fishtail affair.
Re registration, I found it in Worcester but it has been in London also.
-
I have just purchased a Yamaha TY 250 Majesty registered SOG ***S, First registered in Birmingham (any one here know the bike) Obviously it is a Yamaha framed bike. Needs cosmetics/ chassis sorting, it runs well though. Iwill have to mothball it for a while as I have just put the house up for sale so no bikes/ mess around until we move (yes dear) . It has a TY tank and not the coffin type and there is a well faded Mick Andrews sticker on the top of the fuel tank.
I have seen a few colour schemes on them on here but what colour were they supposed to be, also using Silkolene comp 2 what mixture do I want to be using? Thanks in advance
PS. The bloke who sold it to me had no idea what it was, he thought it was a std TY, I didn't tell him.
-
Yes I do say, as some are not aware of this........
-
A couple with plated frames have been on ebay recently. They were pre pinky R models with white fork bottoms and silver rims. They did not leave the factory with plated frames, someone has had that done.
-
-
How does it look for Sunday with the latest foot and mouth news etc.
-
I saw a Cotswold framed BSA at a trial on Sunday made by Jon Bliss in Cheltenham. If you go to the classic trials forum and look at todays classics you can find a picture of one there.
-
There is a kit available so as you do not have to cut or weld any thing, I think its supplied by Colin Leese a mate of Woodys on here. I saw it at Malvern show and its well made and easy to fit, If you send a PM to Woody he will give you details.
-
I helped clean out a couple of sections and they are cracking sections. The countryside in that area is stunning, well worth a look. I will be observing and look forward to it. See you there.
-
I saw a very trick 200 Majesty at a trial in Gloucester today with a similar footrest set up, looked like the pegs were a special design? TY mono forks YZ brake twin leading shoe and lots of trick bits. Nice
-
Hi, jc09e is a Honda CB 125J. Google it and translate the page and you will see.
-
I finally got to try the new lever today, not had chance to go out for a while. I can see a difference already, it is possible to use the clutch as normal. I would recomend this mod to all 125 owners. I got mine from the USA but noticed there is a firm on ebay UK doing them. Thanks to all for the info.
-
Don't you just hate it when they get the dubbing wrong, nothing worse than the sound of a Jap 4 being used for a single.
-
Hey Malcolm going off subject slightly still SWM though. Will we be seeing a new trials bike and sidecar crew soon, namely you and Gavin on your latest project . (watched on ebay)
-
If you PM me I may be able to sort you out with a contact who may be able to help you if you are talking twinshock TL 250. PM me, it may take a couple of days to sort out as I am rareley at a computer. Thanks
