it looks as though they've fitted incorrectly, you should only have 1 edge battered by rocks, I cant tell you which way round off the top of my head, i'm finishing my bike off tonight for the brit champs, will have a look and let you know.
-
I've got them fitted, as soon as i fitted them, i tried my usual sections as testing, Within 3 mins i realised it maskes the head angle steeper, (after a couple of trips over the bars) so you have to drop the forks through, mine are almost flush with the top yoke, which compensates for lifting the rear.
-
excellent trial, with plenty of testing sections, some quite big uns, but mainly very technical. The deep soft sand made turning, hoping, walking, well everything very difficult.
It was easy to forget you were in the uk, with the scorching weather. There was a reasonable amount of spectators, too which made it feel like a euro championship.
Well done to Austy with a great ride, it was good to here the crowd getting behind all the riders. A great venue, but where were the steams?
-
It was a cunning ploy by the organisers to stop everyone crowding around the score board.
-
Did anyone think they were at the circus? Wasn't impressed. Nothing like abba blaring out at you when your trying to concentrate in the sections. Needs a change of venue for next year, too over used. Thats my winge!
-
i'll hopefully be testing one around the scott, should find any problems; if any.
-
Clutch drag cure:- Remove standard clutch plates, and place in bin. Purchase new clutch plates from Apico uk, friction and standard, they're not cheap tho, about

1st lap 10
2nd 15, even fived mums section!!!!
how about you, did you find the rain made it very slippery on L2?
-
I think it was lucy Gregg, Just quite a bad knock i think, didn't see any blood and gore. She seemed to be ok.
It did rain quite a bit, had just started my second lap got soaked, wasn't nice.
-
Brilliant trial. Was anyone there?
-
-
they are both good bikes, all the gasser needs is sending to honda and putting right!
No probs to report with the current mont

-
How about we take the front wheel and forks out of perce's bike and have a long wheelie competition, Furthest without feet down wins, points available for best crash and most damage.
-
Can get you any forks you want, showa, paioli's, maza's. All at a price tho.
-
At france the 1st section scared me ****less, 10ft steps in sand, followed by 10ft drop offs into sand with no stopping room. Pretty mega stuff alot harder than any stuff i've ever done in the uk, practising or in a trial. I need alot of practice before the hawkstone park round, but you need to be practising with a minder on stuff that you would never even look at. I've started already, it borders on dangerous when your on your own.
-
you'll have to hit something very hard to mash 4mm titanium, seems to be good enough for the repsol team.
-
Hmmm, r2wtrials, are you fluent in japanese? Do you know if they do titanium footrest brackets for the monts, sick of bending the steelies.
-
yep done the french round at maisse last year, it was bloody hard, alot harder than the british championship course. I,m going again this year, but only to do the "easy course" as the french appear to put on quite a hard trial. Hopefully will do the full championship course at hawkstone park.

warranty sounds like a long shot, the monts come with 6 months warranty from new, if the bikes done that much work you'll be laughed at when enquiring about warranty.
As for jumping out of gear, it sounds like a bent selector shaft, as for the oil leek, could be clutch cover gasket, centre crankcase gasket, output shaft oil seal, needs a thorough strip down to locate the probs.

I never even thought of the situation, generally looking through the results, the retired or excluded riders were generally clubman, some of whom were just there for the ride out in the beautiful weather and scenery, forget the sections they were too hard for them. yes they will hold some people up, but for most you could outride them get past them without to much bother.
I found everyone to be courteous. (is there a spell check on here?) People would move aside for you in queues. The top lads who were excluded but carried on, that shouldn't have been a problem, they can usually keep ahead of us. I saw a bit of james dabill after he was excluded, he certainly wasn't dawdling. he would let people through in queues, didn't matter who you were.
I think the problem is people doing the right thing once they're out, yes they should be allowed to carry on, but they need to give way to riders who are still competing. If that is not followed then kick em out.
With changing bikes, we only passed 1 control, i think tuesday or wednesday, why dont they check them at the end of each day. Problem solved. I bet there are a few people in the results that shouldn't have been there due to changing bikes.

Every day was pretty tight for time, sometimes you had to make up time inbetween the sections, just to allow yourself 2/3 minutes to look at the next section, that was not too bad for me, but if your not quick across the ground it must have been a nightmare.
I did not like the fact that you had to push it on the road, it does the trial no good, seeing 200+ riders hammering down the road, dodging in between cars, sometimes it was pretty scary. Perhaps clocking off at the end of the last group of sections seems an obvious 1 to me.
-
The Richmond trial is pretty chocca full, you could try sweet talking mother into back marking or something, we're still receiving entries for it. They've no chance.
Hope the fingers feelin better kinell. I'm still off work, need to be fit for the BTC this weekend. Hopefully better weather than the ssdt!

a couple of neurofen an hour, seemed to take all the other aches and pains away apart from the knee!
