  1. Two nuns, Sister Catherine and Sister Helen, are traveling through Europe in their car. They get to Transylvania and are stopped at a traffic light. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a tiny little Dracula jumps onto the hood of the car and hisses through the windshield. "Quick, quick!" shouts Sister Catherine. "What shall we do?" "Turn the windshield wipers on. That! will get rid of the abomination," says Sister Helen. Sister Catherine switches them on, knocking Dracula about, but he clings on and continues hissing at the nuns. "What shall I do now?" she shouts. "Switch on the windshield washer. I filled it up with Holy Water at the Vatican ," says Sister Helen. Sister Catherine turns on the windshield washer. Dracula screams as the water burns his skin, but he clings on and continues hissing at the nuns. "Now what?" shouts Sister Catherine. "Show him your cross," says Sister Helen. "Now you're talking," says Sister Catherine. She opens the window and shouts, "Get the f..k off the car!"
  2. Hmm, a pic would help. Is it possible you have bought a Cota 349T? The "T" version was more of a trail bike based on the trials bike. Along the lines of the Alpina. If you were expecting the same size seat as the 348 you'd be wrong. The 349 seat ('80 model) was slightly longer. *edit* Seat should look like this:
  3. Ian, as far as I remember he was an ex Rolls guy who made pumps. He also had a thing for Scotts and updated the design and slotted it into a Seeley frame. At one point my dad was seriously thinking about buying a Silk. Anyway he took some of the IP he'd developed for the road bike and made a trials bike with a monocoque chassis and a dual range gearbox. The jingoistic UK motorcycle press made a big song and dance about him challenging the Spaniards and then he faded away. I have a test of the Silk road bike somewhere. *edit* The idea of the s/arm pivoting about the gearbox sprocket has been taken up by BMW who use it on their (now discontinued) enduro bike.
  4. I had an '80 and an '83 (first and last models). Both airboxes were the same as the 348.
  5. The 330 'box was different. Trust me. I owned two 349s and they were the same as the 348.
  6. Geoff was riding a BSA engined bitsa. Rappers?
  7. Were the same Dave.
  8. Shoo small children, women and anybody with a delicate constitution from the room before you watch this: Juha Salminen headcam
  9. Funny that Martin, I used to able to bunny hop over a 5 litre can standing on it's end. Can't do that on a modern bike. Maybe the suspension has changed. Maybe I'm just a plonker.
  10. There was a huge diffs on my 2006 Raga. If some wit (as some do..) changed the setting from rain to sun it would pop and fart very unhealthily. It was fine in the higher rev range but did not like the lower rev range. Answer, remove switch. The default setting is rain, so no probs.
  11. Send the book to me and I'll do it for you

Push 'em hard in a tight corner and they'll tuck under. Guaranteed.
  13. You're a twisted and evil man, but I like your sense of humour. Good one Donald.
  14. Ishys got one. PM him. And, yes, they are quite unusual.
  15. And Hondas and Montesas etc..
  16. Oh. I was aware that Sanifords had dumped the importedship and were continuing with the spares but I didn't know they were in liquidation. Is this just the Mont side or all of Sandifords (assuming they were different businesses) ? It would be a terrible shame if they were to disappear.
  17. Don't be so harsh. You're a bit of a noob and chewies been around for yonks. If you do a bit of searching on these forums you'll find rear mudguards are a common complaint on here, Gassers (who seem to have changed their recipe) being the most common source of irritation.
  18. The students bit is enough to make me run a mile.
  19. For my job see: TC Thread First I delivered comment on the surprise you expressed about trials in SA. There's quite a few saffies and ex-saffies on here. Myself included. The sport in SA goes back a fair way. Not as far as it does oop north but it's respectable. Mudboy should have figured I was a saffie from the second quote re: Brakpan.
  20. Hmm, not sure the residents of Brakpan will take to that statement kindly.
  21. Geena does Geneva? Louise does the LHC? I could go on
  22. Looks tolerable Donald. I've just spent a few months with our friends Maxwell & Hamilton
