  1. next years Arthur Bates trophy on the road next year , good move
  2. classic and sammy series run under TRADITIONAL NO STOP RULES not much to ask for is it ! we can quote chapter and verse from the rule book but it is NOT stopping this sort of riding taking root in the classic championships , and by printing in large BLACK letters NO STOP TRIAL on the regs, entry form, and final instructions at the start, must surely be the first step in keeping this modern form of riding out of the classic seen. sort this problem out now before the classic trials become a circus for the stop and hop entertainers and take the do i, don't i, give a clean, pressure off the observers and the do i, don't i, make the section tighter, pressure off the clerks of the course. I support the acu , i support the acu classic trials , i pay my way, i and many others want this SORTED!!! i will NOT go away and hide.
  3. john the NO STOP rule can be implemented and enforced in the classic series next year , you make it clear from the start of next year on the regs and entry form for the riders , at the start for the observers and late entrys and then any rider who enters and proceeds to stop in a section ,weather to ajust there balance or bounce the frount/rear end to get out of trouble or get a better line dose it knowing they are going to get a five, and if they proseed or any body with them argues with the observer then they are reported and excluded, as i said earlier its started to happen in the classic trials and this needs to stop NOW . make the classic series the exception THIS IS A NO STOP EVENT!! IF i want to ride a stop and bounce modern trial i will ride a stop and bounce modern trial, and i go to that trial and adapt to that riding, so if you ride stop and bounce modern trials but fancy doing a classic you do it knowing you have to leave your stop and bounce riding techniques at home, because you have entered a CLASSIC NO STOP event ,and if you stop you are given 5 and if you argue this with the observer you will be reported, that should be enough to protect the observers, and any rider who finds the need to aggressively aruge with an observer is a rider we don't need in the classic seen IF THE RIDER KNOWS ITS NO STOP HE HAS ONLY HIMSELF TO BLAME IF HE STOPS END OF STORY !!!
  4. john have you any thoughts on the observing issue , do you think we are correct in saying there seams to be a problem with the modern riding style creeping into the classic trials, and can the acu and clubs do any thing about it ,ie make it a no stop series.
  5. looks like the welsh trophy back to a classic round next year, same area and one round not to miss .
  6. riding most of the national classic events this year i have noticed riders stopping, ajusting there balance, bouncing frount/back wheels feet still planted on footrests, and been given a clean, i know this sort of riding/observing is still acceptable in modern trials but it has no place in classic trials ie once a rider ceases forward motion a five mark penalty is given, may be the time has come for the ACU/clubs to issue observers with final instructions relating to the classic trial they are observing ie THIS EVENT IS A NO STOP TRIAL ! and for the ACU/clubs to print on there regs THIS EVENT IS A NO STOP TRIAL! i still rember when this modern way of riding came in during the early 80s, sections made harder and tighter to accommodate, surely the majority of classic regulars do not want this, and i for one don't , and would rather see it sorted out by the powers that be, than have a confrontation at a section . i would like to make it clear i am not observer bashing and i do not argue any bad decisions given against me in sections, it's just clubs/observers/riders need to be singing from the same hym sheet in classic trials !
  7. ringo backdoor mountain thing ! wot you mean a cadburys fudge packer thing !!!
  8. 38 tonne,16 wheel,bad tempered,fag smokin,cider drinkin,hairy ass'd,bendy wendy driver !!!
  9. rode the dave rowland a few years back did the clubman route on a twin shock great day out ideal classic round , no welsh trophy or dk mansell this year two great classic rounds dropped , never really liked the,all on private ground [ no road work ] rounds, much rather have a good long ride round with a good assortment of sections, though the two laps of the hillsborough round worked really well. heard the merl morewood back next year great trial but time limit too thight always get caught up with the sidecars at the last group needs an extra 1/2 hour,or get the sidecars to do the last solo group first. i'm sure the championship could stand an extra two more central based rounds next year!
  10. pat have you got the site address , have tried a old 28mm mikuni and found better response off the bottom end but could not get it running well when it came onto the needle and main used the same size pilot/main jets as the tk but unsure of needle and slide also the mikuni was shorter and had to make a longer adapter to reach the air cleaner boot !
  11. rabie you only have to go on the acu web site to see JT endorsing a new acu backed roadrace series great PR for the acu and all credit to them for doing so, but it's a fact he started young, and he started in trials on a ty80, i also think david knight started in trials, two world champions different disciplines but with a trials background, what i am trying to say is the next enduro/roadrace champion could be that little lad or lass down in the isle of white on there ltttle 50cc bike, but without any training, guidence and encouragement get fed up and leave the sport, without thoesland and knighter we haven't got much to shout about !!! all our hopes seem to rest on alez wigg ,and i only hope he gets enough funds or sponsorship to become world champion, of that we have just got to agree on.
  12. fix damper rod first , long spring in top first then small spring then fork top.
  13. paioli

    Ty250 Forks

repsol 10/30 in gearbox , forks try inch longer spacers you can make these out of an old pair of renthals, 7 1/2 weight oil , try 280cc in each leg then if need be, top up by 10cc until your happy, try the spacers first .
  14. TRY P.R or didn't you know that ???
  15. any one out there know whats happening with the classic series ,has not been updated from early september !!! any problems , or just forgotten about !
  16. i think the bultaco bedstead rider has a point try starting with your own club/center ! think big start small PS make sure you avoid the red dwarfs, indians, peppers, deer, carpets, mullets, lights, wood and i nearly forgot meat and heads
  17. i am now calm , i will not react to cheap shots , i am now in a peacefull place , i am at peace well done john collins for bringing us down off the ceiling, as john points out, whose going to enforce all these new rules , do the clubs want more work my guess is no ! i still think a machine eligibility guide would help, firstly riders as to what they can build and what class they can ride, and secondly the clubs and acu to settle any protests arising from out of class machines, this guide would not appear overnight but could be researched and compiled for 2008. sammy series needs the twin shocks in a class of there own this may encorage riders back into the special class and make the other classes fairer. another point worth making its not the amount of classes thats going to bring people back its how the sections are layed out, ie no tight turnes no sharp drop off's and no large steps keep it simple these are big heavy bikes and if a rider thinks its too easy there is always the classic series! classic series this is the hard one, do you kick all the monos out and have a series for say 20 riders, put in a second easier route and and hope to pick up clubman t/s and pre70, my personal opinion is you would not get enough entrys and would not be worth running as the clubs would have to put on a third route for experts to swell the entry , lots more work , monos back in ! deviations for the pre70 class maybe all it needs. all the bikes this year have been eligible so no problems on that frount though i stand to be corrected by some anorak! sorry could not help that one
  18. prove it then because i have handbooks from the 90s and last year saying only twinshock manufacture unlike some people who have stated they have no need for a acu licence or handbook!!!
  19. CHEAT to gain unfair advantage by deception or breaking rules. up to the end of last year there were no rules in the twin shock class so putting two shocks on a 25 year old ty mono was NOT breaking any rules, the oridignal manufacter rule was only introduced this year! so proving any new rules can easly be introduced for next year! r2tightarse trials get your facts right before you start calling people names and commenting on things that you do not quite have the full facts about , now whose THICK IF you think your brave enough, say it to the faces of those concerned and stop hiding behind your keypad some how i don't think you have the BALLS !!!
  20. ACU forum not alot going on at the moment, seems to me alot of people going on about the acu fee's and the youth events , john collins explaining where your money goes and why , and then in another thread some people are asking the same questions again, so far agree with what john is saying so unable to comment , time to rap up some of these issues and get into the adult classic trials which i think alot of us have been waiting for, seems to me what we want is not going cost !!! head now on block, umbrella ready or is there a way to get a discussion started or do we have to wait ! any ideas!!!
  21. two routes sounds good but would not want to be the guy trying to find the easy route up avalanche up at the bootle trial scareeee or wot!!!!
  22. r2tightarse trials may be a better handle!!!
