  1. So what we saying here is , if you own a MAJESTY you can fit mono wheels/yokes/forks/swing arm because its PERIOD/IN THE SPIRIT and the purest don't matter because these are the RULES in our opinion! well guys until any RULES are set in stone its time to wake up and smell the coffee, stop winging about it and campaign for some better RULES, but don't be disappointed if fitting mono parts gets outlawed, hope you kept hold of all your old majesty bits ! The COTSWOLD ridden by Chris Koch was manufactured as a twinshock, a one off with a air-cooled yamaha donor engine
  2. does that mean we can finally fit a disc conversion on the front like the early ty mono's !

    Best Twinshock?

Modern majesty or 25 year old fantic, no brainier, fantic every time for me, and with the couple of grand saved can put that towards frame/suspension mods, and can personalise to my own taste, buying a modern majesty seams to me like buying, well, just another new bike !
  4. The name LUCIFER and starting a thread on pre 65 fiddle forks DO ME A FAVOUR
  5. loads better than last year , only prob for the guys on the alt route was rembering which way to round the yellow/green markers , good start for the newly named traditional series .
  6. And what comes out of the oven MODERN BRITISH TWINSHOCK I'VE STUCK BSA ON MINE !
  7. generally the Doncaster cups is one of the easier classic rounds so in my opinion this should be just right for a twinshock TEAM trial, and not a hard but challenging classic champ round like the last weather affected pre65 team trial !
  8. won't be getting your entry returned then will you !
  9. ooooop's woody , it's the Big Black Book for you now and as for going to spain to do a two day trial in the warm spanish sun , cheap fuel , good hospitality, warm spanish sun ,no miges, warm spanish sun no crazy rules , warm spanish sun, cheap food and wine, cheap accomadation, warm spanish sun, and i hear the weathers good as well , HOW COULD YOU !!! PS see you there !
  10. i did not know you had such influence north of the border !
  11. so you have to use a tube in a rear tubeless tyre/rim what a complete waste of time ! if these guys need a tube tyre, they will find a tube tyre rather than not ride. why don't they just ban tubeless rims & tyres FULL STOP ! and as for the NO O RING thing i have not used one in a tubeless rear for the last 2 years, just cut a valve stem out of a tube and a thick layer of wickes silicon sealant around the rim. too many rules to bend, and would the organisers exclude one or two of the top names , IMHO NO !!!
  12. yep nothing worse in my opinion than doing a 3/400 mile round trip to ride a 2 mile closed circuit event , noticed the phil king moved back to febuary could be risky if the weathers bad , and no rounds around the center of the country ,where have they all gone ? any one with a pre75 or twinshock the sammy series looks favourable
  13. i think you will find the riders who were moaning the most were riding the classic bikes , tight turns and steep down hill drop offs are not much fun on a bike with drum brakes, twinshocks and weighing alot more than the bikes you are riding, and was'nt there one section that only one rider managed to three out ! it was far from just about right for the majority of 25 year old plus bikes which the trial should have been marked out for, after all it was a classic round !
  14. so big john don't like paioli forks on anything other than a sherco ! get a life big boy !
  15. have to agree with woody , the acu classic series is aimed at good riders on well developed pre75 and twinshocks if gaunty or thorpy were riding standard un modified bikes there scores would have been over the hundred mark, the orginisers did a great job running a good trial in such atrocious weather though if it had stayed dry that week most of the championship runners would have been in single figers. as for the sammy rounds i am sure that if someone turned up unexpectedly with a set of bike scales a tape mesure and a set of old factory weights and mesurements, the special class entry would double or even triple don't get me wrong these replica's and specials are great looking bikes and the time and money riders put into them can't be faulted, but they need to be ridden in the right class. ps woody have you told your mates about bootle yet ! warped does come to mind
  16. anyone seen the FANTIC TWINSHOCK TRIALS SPECIAL - 290093048529 on ebay 6 bids and up to
  17. pete there are no road based acu classic rounds in this area and i feel sure if the stratford club put one on based around the colmore / sam cooper area it would atract a lot of interest even if it was not a acu round , 70 mile lap does sound a bit bum numbing though , and you would need a good 7 hours to do the lap and at least 2 petrol stops and 40 sections, does sound a good idea if you can get it off the ground, maybe during the summer months , so hurry up !
  18. 15 to 20 miles, no bouncy sections , i'll be there , what date did you say it was !!!
  19. i would think it could spell the end of the world as we know it
  20. why the classic bikes should not run under modern rules ,because they were not made to hop and bounce through sections , 12 round classic series, 8 sammy rounds and counting, must be doing something right ! and all no stop ! and then there are all the classic clubs running club rounds around the country, this is not just a few old farts riding around a feild once a year !
  21. why so many rounds ? i am sure that if people did not ride the events, the clubs would not apply to run them as classics the following year, simple really ! fifteen rounds, three new rounds more central, sounds good to me !
  22. i hope you have kept records of all correspondence you have had with the acu because they might get caught with there pants down on this one , first rule make sure you cover your own ar5e, because concerns noted over a year ago sounds to me like noted and forgotten, carry on doing what you think is right there is no substitute for good common sense
  23. did you get any advice from the acu ? had a chat with Mike Rapley and Nick Shield at a classic round they seem to have done alot of h&s and r/a could be worth giving them a ring, they run the lancs county mc events . i also think we could draw up h&s and r/a on line ,and even in this forum ,identify problem areas pool ideas and make workable solutions , like the refueling problem ie what starts a fuel fire , naked flame, sparks , fuel over spilling onto hot engine , so we need a refueling area away from the main car park, proper fire extinguisher , no smoking , engine switched off, proper fuel cans and spouts and no machines started in refueling area or rule that every rider has a extinguisher and firstaid kit and ban smoking while refueling , seem to rember back in the late 70's and the old bulto plastic tanks causing a bit of a stink and nearly banned on fire safty grounds, 30 years on were thinking about fire safty again !!!
  24. RISK ASSESMENT , HEALTH & SAFTY words that strike fear , and send any god fearing person to drink, time consuming and a absolute pain in the neck ! been there, done it, absolute nightmare if anything goes wrong , generally ends up costing someone an awful lot of money and sleepless nights , and lots of people suddenly develop teflon shoulders and legal representatives (for a better name) smell a fortune. doom and gloom maybe ! but hide your heads in the sand, run to the hills or just don't bother and it's just likely to pop up and kick you squarley in the nuts one day! are there any guide lines ? does anyone know ? does anyone care ? is common sense enough ? most importantly what happens if something does go wrong ? no guess's please so if you don't know don't take the **** !!!
