give them enough run up and they would Probably clear the road and land in the golf club,
about time we sent something back over , every time i go there i find load's of balls. (GOLF) !!!
-
problem sorted, run the acu trials forum on line maybe over a 4 week period if andy could sort it
on trials central it would be the best trials forum the acu ever had, with only your real names used
some people would realy have to put some thought into what they want to say,and they would have
the time to do it.
just an simple idea from some one who would have liked to have attended, and would definitely
welcome a on line debate.
ps well said john you can now come down off the ceiling ( JOKE )
-
scorpa3 use some of them big banks over on the right hand side as you go into saintbury
seems over the last few years all the big banks and long climbs have vanished from trials
and bin replaced by tight turn's, sam cooper being one of the only nationals to put them in,
and allow you to get your bike off the pilot jet !
-
sam cooper, best sammy rd this year great ride round, great sections won't mention one section
in saintbury, tea break half way round, found out how much gaunty's arial worth, nearly passed out,
heard loads of old sea storys, and looking forward to next years trial, keep up the good work
-
how long before its 90% or 99% and the pre 65 scottish is just a two day trial for remanufactured
bikes with one old bit on so they just get in !
scorpa3 's way of setting out sections is what they use in belgium classic trials, you ride between your
colour gates, and the system works realy well, and they mark out single sections the size of double subs
over here, they seem to give themselves plenty of room to put in the four routes, sure it takes longer
but having put on trials in the past it's a great feeling when it all comes togeather, and you know you've
put on a realy good event, and from a riders point of view i will always go back to a good one.
-
going to the rose bowl this sunday, got to follow white marking or red and blue if told ,
toys could be coming out of pram !!!
-
one more rant, so far this year we have had red, blue, white, yellow and green section marking
can't the acu state the sections be marked blue left, red right and white alternative route
for all the sammy and classic rounds
getting lost in a section does p**s me off !!!
-
the way that reply came out i think my computer has a death wish!
-
trick pre65 bikes should be put into a class of there own , and the pre65 scottish should have
a special class, and one award which they all compete for, leaving the main awards for all the
more oridgnal bikes . they also need to ease the sections for these bikes, it seems
to me that the more trick these bikes have got, the harder the sections have got.
the sammy series use to run this way before they let the twinshocks into the special class,
what they need to do is make a seperate twinshock class and get all the modified pre65's
back into the specials class, there by still keeping the oridgnal riders and hopefully bringing
back some of the riders who have had enough of compeating against trick bikes in the same
class.

SOD THE BROWNIE POINTS BUY THE BIKE
-
bin on the phone to pitley and he has some great venues and sections in mind for
what looks like a super twin shock national in september next year, just needs a
lot of support , to get the club to run it, so get your names down and if possible
see if you can find some observers who could put there names forward to the
club or pitley, for a date in sept 07.
so many pubs on route has to be a good sign
-
put some new reeds in, then go on to any carb ajustments, pointless trying to tune carb
if reeds are u/s, jk hirst sells ty reeds.
-
pilot jet (40) looks ok though you could try a larger main jet up to 150 , also check the reeds
are fully closed by looking through the reed block (when removed) you should not be able to
see any day light, some times one or two petals tend to lift up, if so get a new set.
the air mixture screw only controls slow running so 1 1/4 turns out should be ok.
-
gear box, repsol 10\30. clutch, put in another metal clutch plate or a washer in each of the
clutch springs, making sure they dont foul the inner or outer clutch basket, this will compress
the springs just enought to make the plates bite better.
carb, make sure the float level is 21mm with the float bowl gasket removed, try the bike out
if the same then try moving the clip up and down the needle by one slot ,assuming its
already on the center grouve , also i have found a b6es plug 0.7mm gap tends to burn the
50.1 petrol mix better because its a hotter plug
if still the same do another post and tell us what size pilot and main jets you have in your carb.
-
i run with a 36 pilot, 145 main, 21mm float height, air screw 1 1/4 turns out, needle clip
on the center grouve, b6es plug and 50 to 1 mix , any doubt over the fuel replace it ,
try the bike out after each step you take and if any step dosent work go back to standard,
also make sure the air filter is dry [ no oil ] and you blow the carb out with a air line first.
-
better be a good pub on route
-
try a extra 10 ml in each leg and make sure the bike is on a stand, the air tends to build up in
each fork leg so just depress the valve and let the excess air out .
-
not passing judgment, thats exactly what youve done and in print
modern bikes on the clubman route, they should all be taken out and shot !
thank god your opinion, doesn't mean jack s**t
cheating for your infomation is when someone does something against the rules
but then again its all too easy to call someone a cheat or immature from the safety
of your own computer .
-
EDDY LEJEUNE he even wore shades while riding sections, and that works 360 honda, awesum
-
make that a silver coloured band . looked at wrong flywheel !
-
remove the sump guard then take the four screws out of the round silver ignition cover, the flywheel
weight is the slightly gold coloured band around the flywheel, should be around 27mm wide from
standard, while youve got this off might be worth checking the timing marks on the stator plate
line up, you will have to borrow a flywheel holder and extractor, these marks should be level, sometimes
riders advance the ignition to gain a more quicker responce off the bottom, sounds like you just need to
spend time getting your bike right for you, these bikes you can put into different states of tune, it just
takes time to get it right .
-
check that some bugger hasnt taken the flywheel weight off, shorter inlet = quicker responce off
the bottom
-
BVM moto or J.K.HIRST for all your new bits and the guys at Ellastone Off-road for all your other bits,
eg wheels, exhausts, suspension bits, you shoud start there first as they are only down the road from yourself.
wes silencers are avalable from bvm, all phone numbers in tmx.
frount forks, 280cc of light fork oil then if i was you, i would take 1 inch at a time off your fork spacers until
your happy with them, if you can locate a wheel builder he should be able to make you one of these Z
spokes, or see ellaston for some s/h wheels, and a air box top off the R model, make sure you fit the air
filter dry, no oil. jets go down to a 38 pilot, make sure your floatlevel is 21mm, b6es plug 0.7mm,if you
can get hold repsol 10w 30 for the motor, it makes the gearbox and clutch work better than 10w 40,
with time and a lot of tlc you could turn your ty into a great little trials iron.
p.s best investment, get a owners service manual.
-
bo drinker it is not against the law to fit twin shocks on your 270, if you want to fit them FIT THEM,
and enjoy yourself riding it. I always thought the sprit in trials was in the pub afterwards,
that should upset the P.C brigade.
-
flywheel weight off, motor rips, frount end feels lighter, running with tickover, no problems with
stalling, also seams to rev cleaner, BIG SMILIES
see ya at the rosebowl
