footrests on the swingarm = broken ankles first big rock step, still think a turbo charged c90 in a
mountain bike frame will do the trick! excluding pedals of course
-
just seen the results he only won by 66 marks, not bad for an 0/40 on a four banger
-
saw steve saunders at yesterdays CHG trial on the rev4 can that thing GRIP or what !!! ,wet slippery
mudguard clogging going, all the two strokes using third and forth gears, steve using first and second
gears making it look easy and finishing the trial with a big smile on his face, i can only guess he
liked it, and the rest of the center experts must HOPE he doesn't get one for christmas
-
boring to the point of being embarrassing what a waste of time ! the only thing that made me
laugh was the little tubby jap on the scorpa 4stroke poor sod !
-
bit of truck wash , come up like new !
-
just the job for the pre65 scottish though he would have to repair the paint work on the frount mud guard !
can't be seen riding anything unfinnished or scratched you know
-
john are there any more topics you or the acu want to discuss before you pull the rest of your hair out,
cut up your old bulto, smash your computer to bits, and live as far away from the words acu forum as you
can get, i've read nearly all your posts and surely if i was in your position 3 months in asia at this time of
the year looks mighty inviting, maybe the editor knows something ?
-
ahh the world famous ASIA 3 MONTH TROPHY TRIAL any chance he can sort out my master card they
must run past that hut they call a callcenter
hang on did i read the words editor/paid/asia/not available/back next year, john your in the wrong job!!!
-
makes you wonder if alexz and sam would be better off drinking beer and playing darts !!!
-
john a few years ago the sammys dropped the trail bike championship class and the result saw a BIG
drop in entries for the series , twinshocks put in the special class and all the original specials got diluted
into the other classes , most of the sammy regulars relise this was a mistake for this series at the time,
the next big influx of entries is now comming from the twinshock class as the classic rounds are a tad to
hard for the majority , and having a twinshock (not special) class would end a lot of confusion, doupt and
arguments, so surely in 3 mounths the acu could get out a press release before the first event next year
and get things changed and hopefully get our house in order and entrys growing for a very enjoyable
series

-
just as a matter of intrest how many of those eligible riders have rode the acu expert championship
in the last few years !
-
why not move the pre unit class to run the same route as the rigid class and try to encourage some of
these big heavy bikes back by giving them a easier days sport then the modified lightweight (specials)
can ride the special class on the harder more suited to to that bike/rider route, and move the twinshocks
to a class of there own then only one extra class needed.
having rode the sammys for the last 8/9 years i have noticed that the sections have slowly become harder
for the riders on the more oridiginal pre unit bikes, rider getting older, bike getting made newer, sections
getting harder, series drifting away from traditional pre 65 motorcycle, another series left unchecked
and in need of a sort out ,the time has now come for some gentle class and rule changes before the new
season starts !
-
never mind your bound to get one right one day
-
"i'll never get that five back" life can be so hard at times no pots to day then
-
anybody out there know how the Vic Brittian is being marked out ie same as this year/last year or easier?
-
-
are you planning on modifying the harder sections to make them more clubman friendly or are you
going to set out new sections for next year, or maybe have one hard group just to sort out the top
five in the clubman class, still think that if the top clubman wins on under ten it would be a better
event for the majority of the clubman entry, hell i might even bring me old ty up and do the o/40 class.
hang on, i did say MIGHT !
-
Pete i would have though if you set out the whole trial to take 15 marks off a good non british expert
champoinship riding center expert say Mark Hicken, you would not be far out weather permitting, or
in other words set it out to good open to center standard, and give the premier trophy to the winning
clubman, they deserve it, its their trial, and not to the support class winner.
-
surely the british expert championship riders are the support riders for the novogar series and in trying
to look after the few your making it to hard for the majority, look after the clubman first then if need be
lay out a few sections with diffrent routes for these guys, take the pressure of the clerks of the course
so they can organize for the clubman who the series is for in the first place, and two or three sections
with devations for the support class.
just a though .
-
rules and regulatons after a while need bringing back to the riders attention ,big bold print, clear and in
your face. and the one thing we all have to look at and sign is the entry form, no excusses from the rider
other then he can't read or he's blind !!!
thanks to john for looking into this issue which if left alone could have slowly manifested into a much
larger problem for the classic series and other classic/pre65 events.
and finaly thanks to all the other riders who have supported this issue all positive feedback, no cheap
shots, just strengh in numbers getting a good result
-
john i print all my classic/sammy entry forms from the acu web site its easy to do and saves me time
and phone calls,no were on this form does it say THIS IS A NO STOP TRIAL/SERIES, this could be inserted
underneath the ACU CLASSIC TRIALS SERIES title in the top right of the entry form, this would stand out
and easily be visible to the person who is filling in the entry form. i also printed off the supplementary bit
at the begining of the year, just looked at it and yes it does say half way down no stop permitted in the
SMALL PRINT this could be put into attention grabbing LARGE PRINT on all classic forms.i do think this is
a rider problem and they need to be better educated in what they can and CANNOT do in sections! and
let the observers observe how they see fit to !
clubs and observers should be made aware that no stop observing is what the MAJORITY of RIDERS want
and would support, as riders we have become aware of other riders flounting the no stop rule to take
advantage of the good nature of which classic trials are observed. just a simple reminder that if a rider
comes to a stop to either regain balance or to move the frount or rear of their motorcycle is penalized
5 marks, in a nutshell no trick riding , but by allmeans still give the benefit of the doubt to a genuine
attempt which is still a widely accepted and welcomed by other riders.
i would also like to thank all the classic/sammy round organizers and observers for another great year and
look forward to seeing them all again next year keep up the good work
and finaly to all you stop and hop merchants comming into the classic's
