  1. I still wouldn't buy them without hearing from someone who has used them for a while. How do they grip in wet, dry? How do they last? and then how much do they cost? If the answer to question 3 is around a tenner then forget questions 1 & 2 and I'll try one myself.
  2. More importantly. Has anyone tried one to of these tyres and if so how is it?
  3. Just a reminder to Bon Accord MC riders. There is a trial this Sunday at Nigg Bay, Aberdeen 11am start. For those who have never been there it's an interesting venue running on the rocky shoreline below the Nigg Light House. It's not often that Scottish trials are held on such interesting and ever changing land. Let's hope the tide is out.

I got at great tip just before the Scottish this year. I think it was on this board somewhere. Cut a small piece of sponge and put it in the bottom of the airbox. Any water that does end up in there will gather in the sponge and drip out the bottom and not jump and slosh around getting in to the intake. Other than what others have said I'd agree as a multiple gas gas owner that people give them a bad name jsut for the hell of it. I've hardly had to touch any of mine. Before Boofont says anything I did sieze on the SSDT this year but that could have happened on any bike. I had put a very small cut in one of the water pipes during one of my many falls and the water just gradually ran out.
  5. For those who couldn't make it there was a demo area with some skips in it that Colley and Dabill did two half hour demos on. However all they did was a race over the skips agaist each other on time and then Steve did a very good display on a bike with no forks. Considering what these guys show off in videos and at indoor trials it wasn't really special. I've seen young gary MacDonald just mucking about at local trials and though we know he's not as good as the top boys he cound still put on a good show. My idea would allow people like him to show off to a crowd. The demo session I went to watch must have had many hundred people at it and it was right in the middle of the main area that was always busy so if something had been on all day who ever was on would get a crowd. The factorys could put up a bike a piece so the guys weren't using the bikes they needed to be in top shape for the next day.
  6. Since we are being critical (constructively) may I suggest that the demo area be inmproved and better utilised? I think there was prenty of young riders and guest riders who could and probably would have jumped at the chance to show off in front of such a crowd. If a few logs and rock have been added to the skips and any rider given access I'm sure it wouldn't be busy all day saturday but a good bit of the afternoon would have been filled with young guys showing off and promoting themselves. You never know people like raga who will now take on colley's crown as the showman probably couldn't resist it either. A few people also suggested a push bike trials area in the camp grounds. There were an awful lot of kids and adults on trials push bikes just looking for some where to entertain and muck about. Could be that TC should set up an area near their tent next year for jsut than. It would take the organisers to set up the area as we the TC users can't expect to take skips, rock and logs with us. (you should have seen my car with the TC tent and all our own stuff in it.)
  7. I was actually asking which rider we wait for before all letting loose so to speak.
  8. With the amount of beer likely to be consumed we could more than dampen all the sections I'm sure. Who do you suggest we wait for before starting?

IMHO You can't beat Mobil 1 2T. Recommended for use up to 100:1. I use about 80:1 and never find any build up of fouling. Mobil products are available at most good retailers.
  10. Well London have done it and won the Olympics. How about lobbying the London committee for a trial to be added to the competitions. If I understand the Olympics the organisering country can apply to have new sports added. With the UK being the home of trials and having a multiple world champion in it midst surely it would be concidered. This post ties in with the various other post looking for recognision of Mr Lampin at things like the BBC sport personality. If a UK rider were to win an Olympic medal (Doug may to out of the running by 2012) surely the sport would get the recognision it deserves. Does anyone have any contacts on the London bid committee?
  11. If you were to change the position of the wheel in the swinging arm you would also move the position of the disc in the caliper which wouldn't be a good idea. If the wheel is rubbing the tail pipe then just pull the tail pipe away slightly bending the mounting. This is a common problem and easily fixed. Adjust the chain so that you have a thumbs width between the top of the tensioner rubber and the swinging arm but make sure the tension is off the lower half of the chain before doing it.
  12. I agree with Dabber. If people were buying it he wouldn't be getting in any more. He used to have some good stuff in that van but it's going down hill fast. Maybe Andy should setup a stall next year selling TC stuff. A good money earner and great PR.
  13. It only gets oil to the top when you fall off. No probs for me then, should run for ever. Actually I don't know but would be interested in a sound explaination.
  14. Congrats Doug and Nicole. Alfie for champion in 2023, Who'd take bets against it?
  15. I had a similar problem on a 2001 TXT and never did manage to get it moving. The problem may have been different however as the whole thread spun on the shock body. When I tried to clamp it it just went out of shape as it wasn't strong enough to withstand the clamp. I didn't force it and just left it as it was.
  16. Where in Germany is it? I fancy a visit and have an office in Celle that I could maybe tie in a business trip with.
  17. Well it's not too late to get your entry in. The section are taking shape with a real challange for the top riders and a good fun B route. A poor entry (so far) will possibly see the closing date move back a bit but I'd suggest you call Janet Whittaker on 01569 762018 soon to guarantee a ride though. Look forward to seeing you there either on Sunday or maybe even Saturday evening for a few beers at the BBQ.
  18. Webmonkey I run or help to run the Bon Accord MC in Aberdeenshire. I've played about with various spreadsheets in the past but your one does look good. I'd be interested in a copy when ready or I'll help beta test it if you like.
  19. 10 seconds at WOT shouldn't have done any harm. If you have the head off for any other reason have a look at he barrel for signs of a nip up such as scoring or feelable (not a real word I'm sure) markings. I don't know why it stopped but you're luck it did after only 10 seconds. Your feverish work on the kill switch was useless BTW as you can't kill an engine on WOT with the kill switch it just doesn't work. If it were to happen again I'd shut off the fuel pull on the choke (this uses up the fuel quicker and richens the engine at the same time) and if possible try and stall it with a high gear and lots of rear brake.

    Hey Bigfoot!

It was uncensored for about a year before some one far more sensitive than I in the good old USA asked for it to be removed. I couldn't bring myself to remove it so edited it instead.

    Hey Bigfoot!

OK I came in to work on Friday morning to find a post card from the post office that said a package couldn't be delivered because the tight ar*e who sent it was 17p short on postage. The senders name was given as the Inverness Sheep Appreciation Society which cause a little laugh around the office reception. The post card said I had to go to the local sorting office and collect the item and pay the 17p plus a handling charge of
  24. I find the same with Sealskinz so much so I don't know if they leak or I just sweat too much.
