  1. There are not really made of moose you know and I think the HLS ones will go with your handbag.
  2. This works for me, we could move on to the Milton to hook up with HL later on? Shall we comit to this now and set it as the time and place? Sounds good to me. I'll wear my TC shirt so strangers will know who to come and see. I think all TC shirt owners should do the same if for no other reason than to rub them in Donald nose.
  3. Mark I've loaned my one to Murray Whittaker but I think I remember seeing them at Highland Leasure in Invergordon only a month or so ago. Give Gary a call.
  4. I've been trying to stay away from the Alex after our experiances in 2005 but I'll keep an eye out for him. Is he riding?
  5. I was thinking maybe Wednesday evening. We could meet up for a pint in the West End Hotel (just across from Parc Ferme) 7:30 ish. I'm not the TC social sec but if people are in FW and want to know what's happening and where to meet up you can text me on 07920 210216 and I'll do my best to arrange something. PM me your phone numbers, names and TC handles and I'll contact you if something happens unplanned as is often the case.
  6. Come on guys (and girls). Only seven TC forum users riding this years event, I think not. I was looking forward to getting a lot more names than this to put on the entry list. I'll be out at some of the most remote sections again this year and want to focus on catching you all on camera. If I dont know who you are I also cant help with the odd snack or drink that I tend to carry to help the TC folk.
  7. In meteorology, virga is precipitation that falls from a cloud but evaporates before reaching the ground. At high altitudes the precipitation falls mainly as ice crystals before melting and finally evaporating; this is usually due to compressional heating because the air pressure increases closer to the ground. It is very common in the desert. Now I understand. Kinloch is indeed a well known desert area.
  8. Donald Wouldn't rain at 3000ft still arrive at ground level as some point soon afterwards?
  9. Dave I guess its something Andy could look in to. A riders list giving online names vs real names would be nice to have but everyone would have to agree and that's a fair bit of work emailing around for permision. If however all the riders were to just start here a reasonable list could come together. Rider No. Real Name Online Name. Go on guys give it a go.

    4rt Impressions

    Still fat and ugly though.
  11. I concidered making this a poll but all sorts click on the polls with no real interest in the subject. It looks like a fair few TC users are going to FW next month. How about a get together somewhere. For HLs sake it would have to be the Milton or we'd never here the end of it. Would you come, what night would be better & most importantly would you buy a round? Beware Andy never goes out in FW without his camera(s).
  12. And I've got an '06 Raga nah nah.. Yes but I can ride my one.
  13. We did. No one won but I've got a new bike.
  14. How much more? It is mint but I think he's a bit of a soft touch so I'll maybe try 2100 - 2200. I'd like some more feedback first. Some of you guys must have seen a bike like this around recently and know what it sold for.
  15. A mate is selling a hardly used 06 300 pro. I know the history and its all good. I'm prepared to pay him a good price but dont know what that is. Can anyone give me a rough idea of the open market value on this bike?
  16. The Bon Accord Motorcycle Club are running a round of the SACU youth, pre 65, twinshock and over 40s championships on the 1st of April 2007 at Craiglash west of Banchory on bonny royal deeside. (Not far from Andy's true home). This is a fairly new venue that the club thinks a lot of. It gives a good lap with a great mix of section types but no burns I'm afraid. If you haven't ridden here before you should try and make it if you have you'll know to come back. The regs and entry form are available on the calander page of TC or from www.bamcc.co.uk.
  17. John, I never doubted it. I know and appreciate what you do for the sport in Scotland and further afield. I was just ribbing you. It does sound like a great presentation and your hard work should be shared.
  18. Andy You can take the man out of the North East but you can't take the North East out of the man. I never had you as a closet P&J reader. I guess its the farming section that keep drawing you back.
  19. John, Im with Mark. Never say never. I think a poll may be in order here. I'd go if it were repeated. During the SSDT 07 I think you'd get a full house no matter which venue you chose. We could video it this second time around and you could raise money for the local mountain rescue or some other good local cause. Now you wouldn't say no to helping them out would you?
  20. I didn't comment on this post to start a fight about one rider so please dont read anything else in to it. I truly dont know where I sit on the matter. People like Duncan have I think become important to the event and its a shame he wont be riding but fresh blood needs to get a chance too.
  21. Duncan is seriously cheesed off to say the least. He was planning on running the old TYZ yet again but missed the cut at ballot. Now this opens an interesting question. Should a rider who has supported the event through thick and thin riding every year since he turned 17 be sort of entitled to a ride or should someone like that accept he's had a fair go at it and let a new rider in? I really dont know which to support. I know Duncan well and he's become a bit of a character of the SSDT over the years sticking to the same bike for 10 years is quite something. Does he deserve support from the organisers? Well yes he does. but..... I rode the event in 2005 for the first (and last) time and if everyone who rode once or twice always got a ride how would people likeme get a chance? Did I and other first timers deserve a chance. Well yes we did. What does everyone think. I'm sure Duncan would love to hear everyones thoughts on this.
  22. Slapshot I think your safe in the Don but I've heard about this happening with salmon in the Dee. That why I never swin in the Dee. I think you'd be safe though as there is a size restriction
  23. OTF Have you tried the good old tourist information office? There is one in the centre of FW and they know all the acomodation around. If you cant get in to Kinloch then FW is not your only option there are plenty of places in between the two and the tourist office will know them all. I dont have the number but they will be on yell.co.uk (yellow pages online) I'm sure its not to late to get something decent.
