  1. I'll be along with 1 or 2 others (1 none TC user but he was there last year & 1 TC user (Matt)).

    Made The Bbc

Lucky you didn't answer that one thinking it was TNT Express. Now that would have been some quote.

    Ssdt Friday

I thought this one was pretty.
  4. Boof It would have been easier to just point out that you'd be the over weight guy on an over weight bike. How did the trial go by the way? I'd have come along but I'm all at sea (iterally).
  5. I don't know what happened to the page. Andy must have moved or deleted it. I can't find it and it was me who posted it in the first place.
  6. Slapshot Why don't you arrange a time and place and let us all know. I'm sure all TC people in the Fort at the time would attend. I'll be there for sure. Wednesday may be better as you will catch those only up for only the first or last few days. You may ever get some retired riders by then who will be ready for a drink. The Milton would work though its out of the centre a little at least HL could join us when she gets finished and may be able to arrange a lock in.
  7. Big John should here in a minute with your answer..... Please Wait.
  8. He was World Champion you know! So he's OK in sections too.
  9. I think this is Tim's point. The Europeans go to where even the best competition is in all sports to learn and then try and beat the best but the US guys and girls don't seem to do the same. MX is MX but the best trials and trials riders are in europe in general.
  10. If there is no such thing as an ACU licence what the hell are the SACU taking
  11. The side of a box trailer are usually ribbed for extra.... strength If you have a commercial vehicle scrap dealer nearby I'd try them as the side of an old box van or artic trailer are ideal and very cheap to get big sections of.

I've been plagiarised again. I wish I'd copy written it. John Hird
  13. Look out for Brian Curran though. The dark horse in my book. I thing he's still darkening too.
  14. Blimey Big Foot, I had you down as an Aberdonian, are you feeling OK? Rub down with an oily rag for you m'lad!!! Big John (Not an Aberdonian, although accused of being so on many occasions!) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just remember that this site is owned and run by an Aberdonian at no cost to you.
  15. I too would pay for TC but I wonder what would happen if it went that way. We are all good at saying we'd pay but if it happened I think the hard core would stay but that's all (the hard core already help out with TC funding when required BTW). How would TC look with maybe under 100 subscriptions instead of the thousands of users now here. As Andy keeps saying 'we make the news' with a smaller readership where would that news come from? Keep it free to use Andy with advertising helping out. It's the only way to grow the business. The spin off's such as merchandising and trials photos are the way to make money off this thing not subscription. TW couldn't do that until they has made a name for themselves.
  16. Thomas It's always handy to know where people are from. You can add your location in 'my controls'. Welcome to trials and to the best source of trials info and news in the world. Watch out both become more than a pastime very quickly.
  17. Right! What's all this about travelling? As Boof said a bunch of Scots made it down last time travelling for 8 hours. The 2004 trial was good fun and catered for all abilities. The idea isn't to sort out who's best TC rider but to get like minded folks together for a drink and a social with a trial thrown in for fun. A two day with a easy first day or early evening with some intruction for novices followed by a proper (with easy route) trial on the Sunday would be great. There are enough decent riders on here to help the novices on Saturday and Andy has contacts so maybe a few top pros would come along and help/demo on Saturday. This would surely swell the numbers. Tuition and crack from WTC riders would be a laugh. I wouldn't worry about the level of difficulty. It's meant to be for everyone and just a bit of fun. The Saturday riders could always assist laying out the Sunday sections to make sure they suit. I'll be there and even try and stay up late this time. Maybe lay off the drink until later in the day. I started at lunch time last year and couldn't make it through the evening. I let the Scots side down I think.
  18. Sue In way of an update the reason I need new bars is I hit a deer on a forest track nearly two weeks ago at around 40 mph. My collar bone is in 4 good sized bits with a bunch of smush surrounding them. I'll be off the bike for at least two months . Even after two weeks the whole thing is still moving around a lot .

You have to be a holder of a full motorbike driving licence suitable for the machine being entered. That restricts the age of UK competitors to 17 years. I'm not sure if an actual age restriction exsists to stop people from countries where road licences can be got younger. As for riding ability/licence status no restriction exists other than common sense.

A couple of world rounds should see you OK for a good result. Joking aside, I did my first this year and its not your standard level that matters as much as your ability to over come the thought at each section that you must survive 'til Saturday afternoon. It changed the way I approached the sections (for to worse)and I never managed to ride a single section like I would in a one day event. I'm an OK rider riding the hard route at club level but you wouldn't have known that from watching me or looking at the scores. One thing I did learn though, unless you are a very good rider, approach it as a two year trial. 1st year learn the ropes and 2nd year have a real go.
  21. It looks like I may have a set of fat bar GG clamps from Subira. What bars do you recommend to keep the height similar to standard which I find OK?
  22. I need to replace my bars on a GasGas 300 04 and wonder about fatbars. Who's tried them and what did you think?
  23. A bigger carb doesn't always mean more power. The carb needs to be matched the requirements of the engine all the way through the induction tract. To get the best from a carb the air flow through the carb has to be right. A bigger venturi on a low air flow tract will not generate the sufficiant velocity to draw the fuel and mix the air correctly which could easily reduce the power or greatly reduce the drivability especially off the bottom end. I'm no expert but I would suggest you speak to one before going down this road.
  24. You don't need a dip and full beam only working light. It can be a candle for that matter as long as it doesn't blow out when riding. Indicators are not needed but if fitted must work. Both levers must work the brake light if one is fitted but its not needed at all.
