  1. Regs are available HEREfor the SACU adult/Clubman championship round at Lumsden near huntly. The Bon Accord Motorcycle Club are 50 this year and holding a club round the day before on the same ground followed by a BBQ (bring your own food and drink) and camp-over. Everyone is welcome to the BBQ and camp and can ride the club trial with valid membership of the BAMCC. I'm not sure if a day membership will be available but if the SACU are happy then I see no problems. I'll find out and update this post once I know. This is a great venue for both a club and national trials. Last year saw Gary McDonald clean the whole thing as it was set up expecting rain which never came. This years trial will offer some great A route sections with an easily rideable B route for us dabbers. If you don't fancy Sunday's trial then just come alone and do Saturday, get drunk and observe on Sunday as Scotlands best riders show us how to do it.
  2. Lew GasGas There is a hole in the bash plate below the drain plug. There is no need to remove the plate. jenkinsm If you put 400ml in as suggested by Subira the level will be above the window. I think 350ml takes it up to the middle. I questioned this when I got my pro as filling as per the Gas Gas instruction brings it well above the window.
  3. Just got my barrel back from Langcourtand. It looks like a great job. 1 weeks turn around and all for
  4. Steve Colley had bright orange wheel rims at the SSDT and they look the dogs ..... I don't think a clubman rider would get off with it but for the show man it looked great.
  5. Yes, please post info I've had problems in the past and even had to revert to welding a piece across the bearing that I could hit from the other side.
  6. For Kinell the decoke method of preference appeared to be falling off and leaving the bike spinning round in circles on full throttle for a few minutes.
  7. My one nipped up on the SSDT last week and went out for re-chroming today. See here http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4305
  8. OK langcourt it is. Anyone have contact details?
  9. Heath Any idea what they charge?
  10. Can anyone recommend a good cylinder re-chromer? I need to send my one off after last weeks trial. The chrome is off above both side ports but shouldn't be a problem to re-chrome.
  11. Lew gasgas you need to read the rule book I think. If I'm right and your still a youth you must wear a fully length sleave during a trial. T shirts are not acceptable. Now why this rule exsists is beyond me. A thin shirt doesn't really provide any protection.
  12. Down? Down where? Do you even know where the SSDT takes place?
  13. Only problem with this one is that the airbox on most trials bikes is on the wrong side of the filter. i.e. the filter fits on to the neck of the carb.
  14. It was indeed the regulator. Changed it last night and it started first time and ran fine. Thanks everyone. I'll be returning the CDI unit to GG on monday.
  15. Brockway You be on to something. I inspected the regulator rubber encapsulation and it looks like water may be getting past the side where the rubber contacts the heat sink (it should be almost vulcanised on the sides but its not. ) I've ordered a regulator and CDI unit and the good folks at GGUK are going to take the CDi unit back if its still in its wrapping so hopefully the regulator change will work.
  16. Before I call you a skin flint, do you have any photos of the finished job? I'd like to see just how bad it looks before going to all the bother. I've been thinking of putting of protectors for a while.
  17. Toofasttim. Sorry not that. I've no spark at all after the bike runs for 1 sec. It takes an hour for any spark to return. BigJohn. I check all that and the coil doesn't appear to be leaking and I've fully insulated it from the surroundings. James. As I said I've tried the plug. I've changed it twice and no luck there. Anyone else got any ideas. I would really like to check the CDI unit and coil as I think its in there that the problem is.
  18. I have an 04 300 Pro. I was out last night and all of a sudden the bike died on me. I kicked it back to life easily but it ran for about a second and then died again. (I know what your thinking, fuel right?) Well I had plent of fuel so it wasn't that. It did sound like a fuel problem as every time I started it it ran for about a second then died again. This happened probably five time but on the sixth attempt it wouldn't start at all. I pushed the bike home (mostly down hill luckily) and put it away for the night. Tonight I've fully stripped and cleaned the carb and replaced the plug. It again started once but died after about a second again and wouldn't restart for a good half hour when it did the same again. When it's not starting there it no spark at all but after leaving it for about an hour the spark comes back. Screw the plug back in and away it goes for another second. Now I'm starting to think the CDI unit could be breaking down (electrically) after it gets a good squirt of juice from the running motor. I can't make it break down with just kicking. It has to run before it dies completely again. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before? If so what was the cure. Does anyone know of a set of tests to check the CDI unit? Jim Snell has a good wee bit giving the resistance of all the parts on an earlier model but I can't find anything on the 04 PRO. BTW The bike has a Ducati ignition system.
  19. HondaRS Answer the man's question or shut up.
  20. To be fair we (the BAMCC) hadn't expected the ground to break up as much as it did. We use this ground for club rounds and I've never see it so slippy. Had it been drier I think the marks would have been really low as there was nothing all that difficult.
  21. SFXER Hell Good Evening (afternoon, morning) and welcome. Don't be afraid to post and join in the chat from time to time. It's amasing what you can learn on here and even more so who it is giving the replys. You could easily be speaking to the main bike importer or even a world champ. Please don't ask which bike is best however as it's the most asked question on here and there is only easy reply. (GasGas) Well actually it depends who you ask and that's the point.
