Definately Dalkeith B40RT, but they did do more than one film show and I think they used somewhere in Bonnyrigg at one time. If I remember correctly it was a cinema in Dalkeith that the club rented. Also I saw a fim at a Melville film night called 'Against the odds - Tribute to Saarinen' (Jarno Saarinen, the Yamaha factory racer) but that was later, probably around 1973. Most poly jugs for fuel/oil mix are calibrated at 10 cl increments, so you just need to be just 'a touch' over the 70 cl marking, it really is close enough. It's easier when you run at 50:1 as that works out at 100cl/Liter. Big John

Speak to a guy called 'Munch' on here, he will keep you right. A lot of the 4RT's have had a larger clutch master cylinder fitted for increased fluid volume. Don't over oil the air filter, in fact if it's not being ridden in a lot of dust, a light spray of air filter fluid will suffice. If too much oil on the filter it will run too rich and eat plugs! The rider featured in the video clip is the USA rider Malcolm Smith (Husqvarna) who produced his own series of riding gear called MSR (Malcolm Smith Racing) A good shot of British Trophy Team member, Mick Andrews, who rode an Ossa of course! I can confirm that what Donald said is absolutely true, I remember Duncan telling me about that very same purchase of Curt Comer's bike only a few months after the deal took place! As for the 4 stroke CCM's Nick Jefferies and Dave Thorpe (Dan's father) rode them for Alan Clews. I had a go on two separate CCM 350T bikes in 1978, one belonging to a guy called Mel Ross and the other Dougie Watson. However I didn't think they were as good as my 325 Bultaco (mod. 199) at the time! Big John

Roberto, As far as I know they are still in business, however Dave Renham has been on holiday recently as he attended the 50th Years celebration of Bultaco near Barcelona. It is unusual for parts to take that long to arrive, are you in the UK or overseas? Big John

Hi Martin, Yes, I did have a good look at this particular bike on e-bay two nights ago. I do remember such a project to try and keep a Bultaco competitive amongst the newly arrived Yamaha TY250R/Fantic Prog 1 etc etc. I think it was done around 1985/86. Other than that my memory is vague! Big John

Montesa 99 model year 315R used Showa front forks, not Paiolis if I can remember, previous owner may have swapped forks in that case. What was standard mount was Montesa HRC top triple clamp on Showas, as you are quite tall, use Renthal 6 inch rise HRC bend handlebars. If you are in USA these may be hard to source but they are available from stock in England. Stock top triples sometime appear on e-bay from time to time, just put Montesa in the search field. My son rides a 4RT with stock top triple and these bars, what a difference it makes to him as he is tall. Post a photo of the front end so that folks may be able to identify and help you more on this Hope this helps. Big John
