  1. Yer Avgas I was on about, nice stuff in your bike, 50/50 though,
  2. Its all the boy racers Andrew BP know where the market place is for 102 octane, they'll sell **** loads in MK. I did here its on trial at a few garages around the UK to see how it goes, should be on par with AvGas with abit of luck without the much higher cost. Will save us blagging we have a GulfStream now at Kidlington Airport
  3. As i have said before, the ACU mag gets swiftly chucked in the bin every time i receive it along with the Handbook, what a bloody waste of money, only time i will keep it is if we are getting low on firelighters for the fire. Do a disclaimer on the registration form ACU, letting us make the descision to read the handbook online and we dont want it sent out,.... along with the mag, should save you a few quid!!!!!!!!!
  4. Not even a hiccup cota, Bou's aim is the WTC, probably totally focused on that, not the Spanish Championship, Raga's more than likely realised he wont win the WTC so heavily focused on the Spanish Championship. Bou's going to tonk everyone this year by the look of things and is already doing stuff no-one else is doing from what I have heard. Expect hes using the SC to run in an engine or two and scrub tyres
  5. Thanks for the quick results Pete Great ride from Liam for the win and a really good ride from Ralph, if he hadnt gone the wrong way on section 1 first lap and looked at section 2 abit harder he would have been even closer to Liam for the win. Great ride from Ben as well to only drop 7 on the B route in the very slippy conditions, must have kept his concentration 100% all day
  6. He'll beat you on his new bike Spud
  7. The Trial turned out well today despite the torrential rain from 8am to 12 ish this morning. Had to slightly change two sections from yesterday but overall think all the routes turned out very ridable and nothing impossible. Ralph turned up near the start time and rode really well, pretty sure he did me by about 20 odd marks and was well pleased with his bike after sticking in some Boyesens last week. AtomAnt arrived early and think he enjoyed the days riding, hes well happy with his bike now after Mick Danby has gone through it, totally transformed it he said. Big thanks to all the Observers for standing out in the wet stuff for three hours and all sections were manned all day
  8. Now...............if that is Neil on the gasser it is a very rare picture indeed, well worth copying to disc Pete looks like hes got the full compliment of riding kit, all the bits on the bike it should have (including brakes) and no cut out beer keg as a rear mudguard
  9. Apart from the knock have you noticed anything odd about how the bike is riding lately? do the forks seem odd? poor feel or lack of damping? make sure all the engine mount bolts are nice and tight as well as the frame down tubes.
  10. Great point 2/4, I have often looked at all these enviro things and recycling etc and thought its actually causing more damage than the old way. Your right, WTC bike probably running for 2 hours max a day and its taken a lorry to get it their half way round the world/aeroplane flights etc and they are worried about the emissions of the 2 stroke being damaging.
  11. Thanks for that Baldilocks I will try those if no joy with the bleeding, brake is ok, just not as powerfull as it could be. Couple of my mates have these bikes and their fronts are good so might just need a bleed, and yes they are the original pads but might stick new Galfers in tomorrow before the Trial. Yer be nice to see you at the Reeth, we cant wait, think theres twelve of us in total going up, should be a great weekend counting the days already and I am doing a little training with the tinnies tonight at home
  12. Last time I had to show my licence was about 8 months ago whilst getting cash out at the bank as ID been back riding Trials now for just over 14 months and its never been asked for at a Trial, that reminds me, must dust it down tonight just incase I have to show it tomorrow
  13. One of the biggest differences I have noticed with the bike is the sudden ability to get lift easily, its a real help and if you can pop the clutch it almost flies. Had a few goes today going up and over big root sections and you can virtually miss every one of them, or the nasty ones by pulling the bike up and over. Could do it on the Beta but nowhere near as well, the bike is still nearly impossible to ride without having a hop or flick at any opportunity, its just made to do it, easy to get yourself around bends or out of trouble but have noticed you tend to hop when riding would be fine. Went up a bloody great steep climb today with near vertical last 6 foot which to be honest I really didn
  14. I think the lads surrounded him to make sure he was ok rather than congratulating him, he must have spat one out when he left the ramp
  15. BVM MOTO Mega fast delivery and a great service/advice
  16. Not had a Beta for 4 weeks now and forgotten already, I think on is down and reserve forward. I would get a bottle of TTS and use 75ml in 5 litres of super unleaded. Be well worth repacking the silencer as well, about a 10 minute job and cheap to do, there are plenty of other things to improve the running but these should make a big difference to start. Oh and sticking a BPR5ES plug in it should be better if its got a 7 already, ATF works great in the gearbox and remember not to stop the bike whilst pointing anything ressembling downhill or it might be a **** to start. If its leaking more fuel than the Exon Valdez there is a carb mod you can do on Heaths site (R2W) again quite simple to do.
  17. Thats the purple Helmets display team there was a TV programme about them a while back, bloody good laugh and well worth watching if you get the chance. Cant beleive he landed it as well, and i think he missed the landing spot but stayed upright must have given the old nut sack a pinch when he hit though
  18. Really getting to grips with the bike now, had the Keihin Kid do some fettling on three cabers today and much cleaner running low down on all of them. James has been running poorly from the off but he did change the pilot to a 50 and fitted V Force reeds before he even kicked her over. He stuck the standard pilot back in today and took the V Force out and it runs alot better, very nearly as good as mine now but still a little rich real low down. Still not found the sweet spot for the bars yet, but will keep trying for a few more days, very near but worth changing untill its perfect. Somrthing to check if you have bought a valve type tank breather, make sure it opens ok all the time, i think alot of James problem was lack of air in the tank, I fitted the REP type which is just a slot (no valve) and no problems at all apart from a little fuel spillage from it on full tank.
  19. The single minder rule is ok in my book, if minders are banned they will get round it anyway and might make things even worse. The entries would double over night, Amos etc will suddenly be riding and still catching for a fellow rider and scrubbing the **** out of the rocks and making nice big ruts just before his mate goes through, imagine the farce that would cause. WTC sections should be tough and big time, I think its what most people like to go and watch not a awkward slippy root camber that might take a dab or two. Have a look at the young lads at the next trial, hopping about/stopping etc, times have changed, bikes/riders the whole sport pretty much like any other. I bet if you asked a youth rider whether he'd like to learn how to splat an 8 foot step or clean that nadgery root turn, he'd say the step, keep the WTC bloody hard for the elite, I,m pretty sure its what the young lads aspire too.
  20. If its Saintbury pete, I will bring me chainsaw for that log this time, or if you want me to mark out the hard route sections i will stick in a nice ramp so its a main road Looks like it will just be me again, cant get any of this lot to do a trial unless its north of Derby, I am working on Ralph though he actually beat me there last time (1989) so he might well come. The Legend is at a wedding reception Saturday night so unlikley he'll be fit for owt Sunday
  21. Toffee crisps and Lucozade, thats power food that Dan, Billy Craig would be proud of me I followed what Billy said about drinking lots of water before the Trial so had 4 litres seemed to work well but did p*** meself 3 times between sections 7-10 on the first lap.
  22. Ah yer Dan, young Tom came over today, didnt catch him riding though as i got there at 3.30 but heard he had been doing his stuff as usual, Ralphs throat is abit sore as well from all those Nice!!!!!! shouts. Dad is now well happy with the capabilities of his 4rt after seeing what it can actually do, just wish some of these young uns would see the light abit more and get a bike and ride them more often. Ralph he dont give nowt away does he, even makes dad look like a slacker, think he likes the Caber though and i recon he will be tonking the young uns in the Mid Centre for years to come yet.
  23. Great find Barry the legend should get a fine 8 quid for all his kit, but I dont think he will be the same Dan we all know and love in anything but 70's Scott gear . Good Trial today, just me and Dan, Ralph got lashed up at a party last night and the Goat could nt be a***d coming, biggish entry (70 odd) and the sections were mainly big logs and stumps/roots and bloody slippy. Me and Dan recon Dad set it out as hopping was the order of the day and a couple of sections you had to ride over your own tracks????? (mmmmmmmm thought that was against the rules. )I had a terrible first lap (dropped 92) but things got better on the second, third and fourth laps were spot on. Dan wasnt quite himself on the first lap either but the last Trial he entered was 1992 so he was abit rusty. He had some typical cracking rides on the really tough up your own a*** sections and out came the hopping sideways techniques to get back on line. Dont think there was many doing the hard route but alot on the 50/50 and clubman so not sure what the best score was aprox. Well set out trial and good sections considering the land is not the best for trials and although the first lap was well slippy the other laps became about right so well done the plotters. Had a chat with Richard Allen before the start, he was on a Sherco 4t ( ) (sure i saw that bike last week?) but didnt see him on any sections, knowing him he dropped a slack dab somewhere and tonked everyone else. Think Dan was on about late 30's and me about late 60's, bike went really well and by the end I felt i had got used to it much more. Half hour drive back to the dishes to finish the day off and 2 other Cabers up there Mike got his Friday and a mystery ex rev4 rider on the other? Nice!!!!!
  24. Think I'm going to get that Ian, hours of fun doing vids of the lads I ve got a pretty good video camera and bullet cam so might be able to do some onboard stuff as well
