    Ossa

    OMG! Look at that!
  2. I am not! I have a dry sense of humour and am a total unsocial introverted mechotechno geek! Too the extent that I absorb soo much digital data on a daily basis that I could puke! I think Zippy has a better idea of quality time!
  3. "I should have guessed" Where the heck ya'll at man, north Texas is about the size of---- Scotland!
  4. copemech

    North Florida?

Ther may actually be some rocks there, not sure if they are imported or not?
  5. Go put the ice on your porch so I can slip and fall! Nothing personal, I just need the insurance money! See you in January!
  6. Well, get back to your seal thing then and hope to correct things. As the running problem of the oil is just recent, does not point to a problem with the case web, unless you have some idea what may have caused this, as you were the last man in there with the other issues. How did that happen? Add, where did that chunk go?
  7. Getting back to all this, I ran the 24 on two test runs last Sunday. The actual fitting is a bit of a bitch on the '07, as the tank is different form the '06. Everything is a cram! But it does go! Started and ran good initially, then had some odd running. Seemed a bit rich in the 1/8 range with the needle in mid position. So I stripped it again and did manage to at least spot a flek or two if metal in the bowl that the air blower had missed after all the grinding and cutting. Dropped the needle back to the top notch as per Marlintec spec and took it out for another run. Ran well and settled for 1.25 turns on the airscrew with the 45 pilot. Progression was good with just a slight hint of ping at about 1/8 coming onto the needle. Not bad. Still seemes to rev out fine, yet even the 112 main as installed is a bit rich to go into hypersonic mode, which is good! All said, seat of pants reaction to me was very similar to the "well massaged" dellorto 26, with a bit better low end control in the small opening range, and possibly a bit less hit on the mid to upper range which would flatten the powerband a bit. Mind you, mine has the timing set back already, which makes things slower throughout the range, the carb did not really change this overall, which tells me that it(timing) is the current limiting factor. As the "slow dog" 2.9 pretty much runs as a slow 250, I may now bump things up just a bit to the mid range of timing, 3mm slow of stock, just to quicken things a bit and see how things feel. Needle may go back to second groove, one change at a time! Overall, there does seem to be some good workability here within the range of the 24, and as Neo stated early on could become the carb of choice for many seeking better control in the sections!

    Clutch Slip

A real DRAG is when the bike stops running, in the furthest section from the car park! Then you will likely allow the tounge to SLIP a few times before you get it back!
  9. "In some cases the cointegration results in material transfer across the zone of contact, i.e., cold welds." And if you get that just right you will never, ever, have to worry about it coming loose again! Beat to your own delight! Deal with the remains! It's all good!
  10. All of that reminds me of our own club rules that EVERYONE must wear an APPROVED helmet at all times when riding or minding. In the old days the riders mostly wore a (cock) hat or nothing! The chances of you taking a fall and hitting your noggin were quite small! If you wor a helmet, the chances of getting your ass kicked for being a puss was quite large!(100%)
  11. Well, at least Borus is still with us! I well know there is a difference between free speak and blatant advertising and self promotion of a product! Sales is sales BUT facts is facts, even from the most objective standpoint. There is always some grey area, but at least it seems someone is staying in touch that can answer direct questions and such. Not a bad thing. In my early days in MX, back in the 70's, I got a fair amount of experience competing on Euro bikes. Seems all had their pitfalls, they would run! CZ, Maico, Husky, Penton and Montesa, never competed on a Bul. but did ride a couple of Pursangs. Point being, when I did come back into riding(trials), I pertty much figured out from go that I was once again thrust into the Euro thing with odd names like GasGas, Sherco, Beta and Scorpa, yet Montesa! Now with Xispa! One thing for sure still, they all have their quirks! And in a way there seems to me to be a certain comfort in the old discomfort! Seems everything is normal on the trials front!! And if the Brits could build a bike, I might have had a chance on my mates AJS stormer(it think it was), yet it would not stay running long enough to give a go!
  12. Based upon your testing, as described, you are on to it! Good test, yet I would do a verifing ck! Seems these reports on leaky seals are a somewhat new development! Add still rare! Good stuff ! Flywheel puller needed! Seal composition is still somewhat in question here. Seals black or brown as removed? Nitrile or Viton?
  13. I am like the Andy, cannot even get started in this stupidity! The McDonalds coffee that scalded the clitorus was the taker! Won millions as I recall! Claimed disfigurement! Doubt I would have wanted to be on that jury! Have not seen one yet that was all that! Probably just became more wrinkled over the time ! Ha! Best defense against getting sued is to not be worth the trouble! You could sue me for bad advice, but you you won't get much! BTW, stay out of small cars! If I do hit you, you will probably die! Do your own risk accessment!
  14. Soo, tell us how you FEEL about the use of these chain saws, Zippy? Do you often use these tools and other implements of destruction to get that MACHO feeling? Lots of power in your hands there! Do you sometimes get the urge to wack down something whit it, unneccessarily? Does the wife run in the other direction when you pull out the tools? Have some of these tools spent as much time on the dining room table as the Sherco motor? Do you call out the kids for a "watch this" session?
  15. I figured You for a nasty little ****!! Too!
  16. One can argue this all day in degrees or inches of measure, but it is actually the slight difference combined with the slight plasticity of the metal that creates the greatest bond under pressure. If I were to lap fit a set, I would then put in a slight differential , using some method, if not for anything else to insure the contact will indeed break on demand! It should do so, or be permanatly in place! I have no idea what the torque spec is on the Beta, on the Sherco it is 72 ft/lb the Beta should be similar, but ?
  17. Please expound on your findings? I thought there were about two in the UK? This is a free speak forum, is it not! And if not! Whots the use!
  18. This is something of a nasty mental picture!!!! Did his hired mistress make him do it the hard way? Is he into those strappings and such?
  19. Mine came at the 21 height, so I left it alone. Basically, I think you need it to where the needle just touches the seat, shuts the fuel, and the measure is made without further compression of the spring on the needle. I was wondering where the level was in Neo's clear bowl, and if it changed after a bit of bumps and jouncing things around?
  20. I can't see no friggin crack, you been sniffin butt crack, Ham!
  21. This should give you a better idea what I am talking about. The routing itself pushes the hose away from the muff!
