  1. A bike always tends to go lean on throttle chop, unless the pilot jet is on the rich side! As Clav stated, somewhat normal. Not sure what jets he is running, yet a lean jetting will add to this, yet yield smoother power on roll on. Finding a balance can be important on a 2.9 to smooth them, I am running a #36 which I can handle on the newer bikes. On the older bikes I ran a #33. I understand many like the #38 on the newre bikes, yet I would expect it to be more aggressive! The needle comes into play somewhere above 1/8 throttle transition, and has no effect when throttle is shut, as all pulls off the idle and transition circuits! Which must be clean!

The seat is here if you need it Wayne! The wifes 125 went up north last year, yet the seat remained here! The edges are a bit worse for wear, but nothing $5 worth ov vinyl would not cure! It does work! Getting back on topic, the 4T Sherco is just simply "One Bad Ass Top Performer" for sure! I don't think they require too much TLC. Easiest to work on and very solid! As with any bike, take care of it and it will take care of you! If you are the type to abuse your machine and neglect it, you will likely have problems!

Kinda makes that $15 dellorto look good, does'nt it? Oh well, same result as if you had actually flipped it on the tank and damaged it, but not as much fun! The Japs are still getting even! Of course, being a FI system, I have often wondered just how these things would withstand such things as water and dirt over time as well? A likely factor? Some things that must be considered in the trials environment, and your shed, and your gas cans and filtration system of your fuel supply? The possibilities are many! And there is usually a relationship there in a pump failure! If you ask, they do not build bad pumps! FWIW! I really don't know what is there, but I would presume there would be an inlet screen in the injector as well, so if your pump is mechanically failing, the injector may be full of it too?
  4. I am not sure that the US Champ lines could be ridden on a 125? Sure maybe 90% could be done, but the other 10% would kill you! Maybe Jack wants to come to try Duluth?

I would agree with Dave, as the Sherco has lots of smooth power in any gear. If you trail a lot, the 4T Scorpa long ride should not be overlooked though. linky
  6. Good going Cody! Vince, did you happen to find any parts of Craig's bike that Phillip left scattered along the loop? About 485 points ago it was a new bike! Today was some high pro scores! Good to see Brad Villand in the game, good ride! And our old buddy Ishy had a good outing with a 3-2-3 showing for the weekend, against none other than former champ Curt Comer, another TC member! Good show!
  9. I think the cows are farting too much, so is Jon! And we need to get him off the GasGas!
  10. OK 29r, point taken, yet still in context of this thread, Ryan would only say the first part, I added the rest as a matter of context and emphisys! Do you have GUTS! Maybe too much?
  11. Why do I suddenly get this mental image of Jon with a BIG hammer in his hand? Reminds me of one of them movies! Did you remember your hockey mask?
  12. Careful mate, they all resemble her avitar!
  13. Jay, A Beta(ducati) puller should work as I recall. There is this fellow in the UK that repairs them and had some resistance specs published on his website at http://www.uk-motoplat.com/home.html I am not sure if any of that will give you a hard answer or allow you to functionally ck the trigger. And I cannot tell you what normally fails, other than a possible stator, but what part? Find a buddy with another bike, it is easier that way. Wish I could tell you more.
  14. He He! Butt Darts! I think you could really damage some rocks with that!
  15. Tombo, the timing is important, so lets see here if I remember how to correctly describe this. Try nto start out on about 1 meter high and set your kicker accordingly. Try second gear and about walking speed. Third gear will get you further later on. A couple of feet before the front wheel gets to the kicker, drop your knees fully to compress the suspension while revving the motor. As you and the suspension rebound, feed the clutch to lift the front off the kicker while pulling back hard. By this time the rear wheel should have made it to within a foot or two from the kicker and with maximum traction as you pop(fully) the clutch fully propelling you up and out of the "hole". Things happen quick at that point. No slipping here! You have to commit to the "full pop" at revs! Same with a good zap! Takes commitment! And Balls! And you have to stay up with the machine! As you get better, you do not even need a small kicker on the small ones as the kicker is simply a timing devise! Timing and practice, which I do not have! So I just normally point and shoot, at Ryan! Hope that makes sense.
  16. The Boyesen reed is part number 665, dual stage Power Reed Motomerlin sells them in the uk
  17. Splatters require no skill according to Ryan, just balls! As you get over 5ft, some foreward momentum is a help, but other than that, just use a kicker, compress while you are revving max, and dump the clutch as the rear hits the kicker! Pull up hard so the rear hits first, and not your head! Then push over the top! You are up! We hope!
  18. Having gone through soo much for soo much over the years, XP was(is) refreshing in the fact that it basically worked! Although as speed and memory become more advanced and less expensive, things do change! Has anyone figured out if I can get the Library of Congress on that 160gig drive yet? I may be running a bit low on space after loading the Vista sp1! I do feel that I have done my pittance over time, as I still recall spending THOUSANDS more than this decently equipped laptop cost, and for a boat anchor in no time! Doubt it will be too long before the manufacturers run out of third world slave labor, so prices will increase again! Add 20% for transport to your door with the fuel!
  19. Naw, If you want one ov my real redneck stickers, let me know!
  20. Ha! Now thats funny! I don't care who y'are, that's funny!
  21. Good job then!!!!!!! Did you actually SEE anything?
  22. See discussion and links on pg 2 of this forum for torque values. I ran the Boyesens in 125 before and found them a little too soft and smooth off the bottom for my taste. Electric smooth and great for a beginner though.
  23. The fan is a DC motor and if the bikes rectifier is shot, you can have AC volts applied and the fan will not run! You can jump the switch to find out, but if it still does not work, try the rectifier!
