I think my AA led flashlight provides more light than the 5 watt bulb in a Sherco headlamp. Does not look as good strapped to the front of the bike though!

I tend to think it has more to do with how much you ride and how much you rev the crap out of it! You could double or triple that interval for most clubmen without problem.

Somewhere near 150 PSI would be normal. However you get a better "feel" by pushing the start lever through by hand. They normally have quite a lot of resistance. Other than that, you cannot just re-bore these things as they are Nicasil plated and a rework costs nearly as much as a new one. Slight honing is permissable if properly done, but a new piston may need to be fitted. Most just install a new ring set to freshen things up unless there are other problems.

If there was not a problem to begin with, such as low compression or excessive piston slap, put ith thing back together and leave it alone! These things seldome fail! Note head torque is in Nm not FtLb, you will twist a stud if you are not astute! Wear is normal with use but not neccessarily a problem!

Do not know of any head spacers for the Sherco. Stacking base gaskets would be the only other thing you could do, but hesitate to recommend it!

This is why you put anti sieze on those bolts, If it bound prior to shearing , you are screwed! Soak it with the best solvent you can find and let it set, reapply as necc. Bolt must be drilled perfectly on center with proper size. Use heat to expand the ali. A gas torch, propane type! Which means remove it all! If you are lucky, it will come out with an extractor. ps- if the extractor breaks you are double screwed!

Chader, A small bottle of Dr Johnsons sex lube will last you a lifetime, the oily type, not the water soluable! Clean it regularly and re apply, specially if it has been circumcised by using bar ends which allow dirt entry! The throttle is a very important part and should work properly, so treat it as if it is a part of you! A light coating of spit or gear oil will do in a pinch!
