  1. Holy Jesus, here we go again, and he has to start out on the lightest and most powerfull bike money can buy! Step 1, just ride! Things come along in time and feel more natural. Step 2, Enduro pants work fine, no spandex required. Might consider knee and elbow protection as falling is normal! Step 3, find a local dealer or TrialspartsUSA for Gasser parts. You will likely need some. Other stuff through dealers or distributors like RYPUSA.com or LewisportUSA.com Yes, that is trials gearing.
  2. Martin, you would know, but when I said HERE, I meant in the USA. I thought you were the one that gave me that number 7? Oh well, at one time I knew where 3 or 4 went, but cannot recall.
  3. Looke nice, seems to be no ball ends on the levers? Bars have a rizer installed!

  5. Yea, just be sure it does not suck it all out of the gearbox!
  6. It seems to me those things as well as other bikes were tuned for high octane and fuel is an issue. I have used 100LL for years with no issues other than HOT weather hot restarts. It runs clean and stores well. The Dellorto is a simple carb and just works and is reliable. Best I recall, they only sold 7 bikes that year here. I still would not mind having it if you decide to sell, but not at a high price. I was just looking at a 2003 clean bike in UK for $1200 as example. But let me know if you decide to do something with it.
  7. Lots of good riders in KS. Hook up with them and you will be hooked!
  8. I am sort of surprised you can't find non alcohol laced fuel up there, but I will throw out a couple of suggestions for you. If this is a dellorto carbed bike, go up on the pilot jet. might try a 36 or a 38, then adjust mix screw down accordingly to about 1.5 - 2 range.. Other thing, go get you some 100 octane Avgas at a small local airfield. It is the real deal, but the TEL in it does not hurt a 2T motor, or your tank! Is this the bike some fellow up there was trying to sell a year or so back in cherry condition?
  9. British Humor, Hell Yea! You wouldn't understand.
  10. If that is the case, you have not FIXED anything! You have simply confirmed that your crank seal is bad!
  11. It IS a breather and vent, if no excess, no issue. If you tip the bike in a crash, you may get more, and they may also find their own level if overfilled! Tube is best run up over the carb inlet then down to skidplate level. There are other reasons for this as well.
  12. LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Officials say a tourist from the United Kingdom lost two fingertips on his right hand while riding on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Florida. The incident happened Thursday morning. Bo Jones of the Reedy Creek Fire Department told Orlando station WKMG the man lost the tips of his ring and pinky fingers and was taken to a hospital. His name was not released and his condition wasn't available. Officials say it was unclear how the incident happened, yet the missing shards of skin were later found caught in his trousers zipper fly. Disney officials stopped the ride and checked it out. The ride was confirmed safe and reopened later Thursday.
  13. Needs more shag carpet and a bean bag chair!
  14. I see many of the small 1.25 inch reciever hitches have a 300lb weight rating, so a bike rack would work, but I would ck in advance for a given vehicle. Small SUV may do better than a car. I was fortunate my daughter was in after school gymnastics. She became an instructor and tought the younger kids. Those daycare places are brutal, and here you would have to enroll for the given period and pay through the nose even if you did take the kid out for a week of vacation with the family.

Did you do you r crank seals?
  16. This IS funny! "Just one question for you Americans - what do you do with the kids when they're off school for July and August? We won't have to deal with it yet but given most Americans only seem to get 2 weeks holiday a year (wife would get 4 weeks in new job so not too bad, although not the 6 weeks we both currently get) how do they cope with school holidays. Is it a case of signing them up for summer camps? " This is when you fly the mother in law over!!!!! God help you!
  17. I am sure Reiger makes one to fit, but I believe the GG fitment has slight differences in bushings and such as compared to Sherco. Splatshop Chris can probably tell you the differences, and or convert one if needed, however if there is too much, an Ohlins may be the choice of pref.

Right then, stupid and insulting question at the same time. Do you ever run the p*** out of it to burn the sit off or are you just slogging about all the time? Need to get some real heat into the motor at times(every ride), couple of drag races down the lane and such to keep it cleaned out and get things working. To me this is just 2T basics and plug maintenance on all rides, and if not done you get what you got!
  19. Chromoly, yes, Mig or Tig will do it, find a good welder!
  20. Find a local welding shop to fix it properly. I called my local welding supply to get a recommendation for someone local to do aluminum, and the guy charged me $15 bucks!
  21. Floating museum, the battleship Alabama in Mobile Bay. Biff, you need to go to the engine room just to see if you can git a grip on that! Oh, yes they have an aviation collection and a WWII submarine to tour as well. Sub is small, only 300 ft long! Ha!
  22. You should have gone to Kermit Weeks place!
  23. Yes you are. Keep the TY and get a Miller tank/seat to trick it out until you can get a modern bike!
  24. I doubt it would damage the motor, yet I would avoid high revs. You might attempt a temp repair on the split by cleaning the area and roughing it up with sand paper, then apply an thick epoxy like JB Weld, back it up with gorilla tape! Just a thought?
