  1. Scroll down this link. There are short, medium and long ones. The medium seems more common. http://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco/front-brake-spares.html http://www.splatshop.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=4&q=clutch+lever
  2. Pads should retract slightly with release of pressure due to the flex of the rubber seals on the pistons, this is only thousandths of an inch, enough to release the squuze! The fact that it stuck is more troubling, as the spring should push the piston back out if things correct. One may need to remove the MC and closely inspect the bore fore damage to the walls causing things not to build pressure and/ or bind up the new piston and seal. They need to be perfect for the most, as the tiny lips on the seal cannot hide imperfections. Oumping it with a rod on the bench and vice should produce a consistant pressure against the finger if it is pushing fluid if I an thinknig correctly, yet the displacement is small on these. Insure hose to caliper is not ruptured or expanding as in hemmoraged under pressure.
  3. Check and report. Crank keys are not common unless they are under torqued or the taper is otherwise damaged. It will also still spark, just at the wrong time for things to function.
  4. Neo, capacitors are similar to a battery in the sense that they will store energy for a bit, yet they bleed down quickly, thus the high rpm requirement to keep things charging at a certail level that will absorb some dips, yet not for long. A battery is much heavier, yet will absorb energy and store it at a much more constant rate. You gotta switch them off at end of ride or they keep things powered untill dead. A cap simply re-boots every start and will float in the desired zone if you keep it charged, then shut off it goes away quickly. It seems to me that this higher rpm of 1800 is not near as noticable on a 2T either, because due to the expansion design, one ony gets the occasional pops from the exhaust as compared to the once per fireing from a 4T. I have not ridden the Ossr, but I would not tend to chug it for too long either without a battery pack installed. The mean voltages and capacitance here may vary, but below a given point, things shut down with no magneto spinning! Direct injection is a hhole different animal as compared to a simple throttle body in the place of a carb. TBH, I am not quite sure just how this works on a 2T motor, as something must make its way to lube the bottom of things here. Doubt it will work on a trials bike, yet I could be wrong.
  5. Welcome Rene, I would not reccomend either for a new female rider, too much power, too hard to start. Try a good 125! Much gentler! Other options for what are normally good starter bikes include the Montesa 315 and the Beta 200, S Scorpa/ Yamaha is docile as well. Buy upon condition. In answer to your question, the "06 is a bit better and gentler bike, yet two major issues on that year were cracking frames below the steering head and poor rear shocks that leaked. Many frames were replaced under warranty. They are both probably more aggressive than the 2000 bike.
  6. Does anyone rate the inexpensive Wulfsport boots? Look like a bargain?
  7. You are correct in this, and the rpm is somewhat neccessary to keep things running in the mont. Not totally sure about the Ossr, but it does seem they are reporting better starting and such with a battery pack. As this system is the same if not similar, I am not sure if anyone has used a pack on the monts, yet ist makes logical sense to me. I can indeed tell you what happengs if you try to chug a mont for too long. It will try its best to throw you over the bars when the flame goes out!
  8. I know what you mean about those test rides, and I try to take every oppertunity. On me recent outing to TN, i had the chance to do a brief back to back on the '12 250 Beta, the "11 250 Sherco and my docile "07 2.9 Sherco. I have ridden the gasser 250 in the past, prolly "09-10 vintage. All I can tell you is to stay off them if you want to save money. They are all loverly bikes!
  9. The Betas work just fine in 2T and 4T, as well as the others. Why would any company want to throw that much development mony into something that works as well as it does?
  10. Back to back wins for Patrick Smage in Ohio this weekend over rival Cody Webb. Bryan Roper rounds out the podium today for the second time this year! I will try to update the standings once posted.
  11. This is Fiat-tech motor coming to US at 39mpg on the road in the small motor, not bad! And this euro blend is not bad either. Car drives solid and quiet, no junk here! And they put the wheel on the correct side!
  12. One must be carefull what one wishes for, you know! Cannot count the times I have slammed those safety stops! Now if you could hop better,,, Now point being, look at the Gassers, Betas , Shercos all top bikes and they ain't going FI as long as they do not have to. The additional cost and complexity is just not worth it. The bikes already outperform the riders for the majority. If one wants a good reliable FI, get a Mont! They seem to work and love you long time! The Ossr does not have the trackrecord as yet, and are still being refined. Reports are really good, so be your own test pilot here. It is not a cheap bike and seeme adds a premium to the cost of entry. Now enter JTG with a high tech bike, well no FI and they ain't going there either till the japs reduce the price like a Plasma TV it ain't happening! (best deals now you know) i THINK oSSA MADE A MAJOR fu ALONG WITH HONDA using capacitors instead of battery packs for the most part. Seems recently some have realized this on the Ossr, yet that is just mho. I know one thing, do not toutch the throttle on a cold mont after starting, it will cost you a $13 sparkie! Lessons learnt! Feck that!

    V-Force Reeds

I would tend to agree with Steve here, yet I hope he has his stock reed cage! Steve, do you have any comparison between the dual stage and the carbon?
  14. Might mention float heights settings can be a bit iffy on these depending upon application(attitude of carb). If you get into problems on downhills, get back for further reccos! Cheers,
  15. Small cars usually do not do much for me, yet I had to take a spin in the new Dart we got in. Got to admit I was fully impressed, this thing ROCKS! This one had the 1.4L turbo motor. I cannot recall the last time I drove anything with that small displacement. It is POSH!!! Big 8.4 multi function toutch display with a BFG! Thatsa big friggin Garmin!
  16. Point being, I do still get a car with a carb(80,s vintage emissions and all) in the shop on occasion. Do my best to avoid them! Now on the trials bikes, it is a different matter. I prefer simplicity, and the high tech of the ossa is just not my bag. They have refined it for years now, and still I do not want to be the blinker with the laptop trying to fix it on the side of the trail. Seems right now there are only two Ossa dealers here so everything is long distance. I'll like to find one them '12 Shercos that someone wants rid of, as they will work fine for my needs.
  17. As the OKO is simply a Kiehin copy in 26mm version, I would think the base settings for the Kiehin should apply directly to this application. 45 pilot, 125 main JJH needle in mid clip position This should give you a good start if you are reasonably close to this and you might need to refine a bit from there. Hope that helps!
  18. It may, I suppose, although I think it is obvious with Ossa's that things are still very difficult to tweak a 2T motor to in the trials world. Yet carbs are far from perfect, untill this stuff becomes more affordable I do not really want it. My screwdriver still works! Pity after another 20-30 years on I can barely recall how to fix a simple carb on a car, and do not really want to attempt it, as they were s!!t with the emissions stuff and all back then! Yet all said the basic designs still do the job well enough for a trials unit!
  19. I figure the lad could use at least three of the ten of these! Others might find something as well! http://money.msn.com/shopping-deals/10-products-with-hidden-powers
  20. IE9 upgrade came alive with the toolbar, so it is working on 7
  21. It is well documented accross the brands what a pain in the rear these things can be. Many methods tried and failed. If were me, and I know pump is primed and pumping, I might next use a seringe to PUSH fluid(and air) out of the rear and hose up to the same banjo on top of the MC with the fitting cracked, then shut it. Here is the tutorial, yet you may know it already! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcQq4U5ALyk
  22. Here is a good video that demonstrates proper tecnique. I am not sure about the part where he is just sitting down on the bike, but he is a bit overweight and of male gender we believe, yet it has never been proven! If your bike kicks back at you at times, it is likely on factory ignition timing. If bars are turned incorrectly when this happens, it will drive your knee right into them causing injury I might highly recommend setting the timing back about 4-5mm on the stator plate to minimize or eliminate kickback and slow the response a bit for your riding enjoyment, as they can be a handfull! Keep hubby handy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdM4qkAqywk

    Ossa Racer

I suppose that would indeed outperform my old Yankee 500 twin with the Stelleto porting mods. Feck me, never seen that one!
  24. Corroded from inside out, possibly
