I don't have a 4rt but I've rebuilt several 4 strokes and the top end is not any more expensive you just need to know what your doing with the 4 stroke vs the 2 stroke. I would also say the 4 stroke will need less repair.

Yes it needs nitrogen not air. If it lost all its pressure it needs rebuilt new seals and cleaned. Find somebody in your area that knows how to rebuild them.

Peter is right the shock will loosen up after an event or two, I would worry more about greasing the linkage and adjusting the shock soft enough to get lift on all those rear wheel hops your fixing to do with this new shock.

All good advise, bigger grips like half waffle work best for me, levers don't need to be so flat and move them in and bend the end out a little so it don't hit your other fingers. Push ups and wrist curls are good also, but the best way is to use all fingers or two on the loop, if your riding the loop with 1 finger on the clutch for 3 hours and your not use to it yes your going to have arm pump.

It depends on were you live if you live at a high altitude your octane don't mean much but down low pump gas will ping when you back off the throttle.

Sometimes you can't dab if you have issues, a big dab might make a mess of things. LOL

Buy an o-ring once a year, and spray it with WD-40 once and a while. And for WD on the disk I spray brake cleaner on the pads and ride around a little dragging the brake.

Williamd, I wouldn't ask the railway because they would have to say no, but as long as you ride between the rails your good, its when you ride on the gravel next to the track it they get upset, unless they don't use this track anymore.

They are a good bike, only problem I've seen is weak springs in the front end. I would put the bike on a stand and check the steering head for any movement.

You have 2 ways to go with this 1 is buy new and the other is have it rebuild and have a good chance of it doing it again. I have rebuilt several and they were good for a year or two. Contact your local Sherco rep. and see if they can help.

I don't think this is your problem, but you might check it. When your floats go up all the way do they shut of the fuel flow. How long has it done this, what was the last thing you changed? How rich is your oil, 100 to 1 or 80 to 1?

It's a funny thing you hit what your looking at. A lot of the time if I'm looking at something it's easier to ride over than miss. Your at a good spot, the fun in this sport is learning the technics, most of us would trade with you.

I would put the bike on a stand and check the swingarm for any movement, then I would maybe adjust the spring a little, just to tighten things up. Have you ever lubed your linkage?

Get some degreaser or engine cleaner, remove the tail piece and or exhaust pipe, and wash it out. Never use gas just a good cleaner.

On the 2-stroke oil I run 80 to 1 even 100 to 1 in the winter, 50 to 1 is a smoke bomb and your tail pipe needs cleaned because I've seen them light up.

I think its about 220cc, but I'm not sure. I would remove the top cap to release the pressure then drain the bottom and measure it and see how close it is to 220cc

80 to 1 on us gallon. In order to adjust your mixture, warm up the bike, turn up the idle, screw in the air mixture screw and rev the motor it will not rev down, then screw the air screw out at half turns until it revs down almost as quick as it revs up.

True it might be the oil. Yea rolling the the bars forward makes for quick turns. I made some spacers raising the bars about 3/8in.

If your back don't hurt use the lower profile bars. You are kind of tall so lower bars might make you slump over putting you in a uncomfortable riding position, but I would roll my bars forward and with long arms it would give you more room on the bike. Wide bars are great until you jump up on a large rock with a tree on each side and you bang booth little fingers on each hand, ask me how I know. LOL
