  1. The ignition on the 04' Raga is programable, does anyone have that program?
  2. I wouldn't worry about balance as much as turns and body english in turns and on small hills. I would do figure 8's with 3 bricks or softballs or my favorite hedge apples.
  3. I think its a 89' I had a 305 and it was a 89'.... Good bikes. I think your carb problem is the floats aren't shuting off the fuel and its flooding the bike. Remove the bowl on the carb and hook up the fuel line and push up on the bowls and see if it stop the fuel, if not bend the tap so that it will. I don't remember how much oil for the forks, just drain one and measure it, after you let the pressure out of the top of the tube. I used just 30 weight oil in the gear box, just fill it to the middle of the sight glass. That model has 3 flywheel weights.
  4. Needs a larger start-up jet
  5. Don't use race fuel, I've had trouble with high octane fuel when I got high up.

    Stopping

Try a shop that rebuilds brakes and ask for metalic or semi-metalic material.
  7. If the hotter plug and no rev in warming up don't help, your floats might not be shutting off the fuel flow.

    Engine Noise

Lets hope its just the water pump that needs replaced.
  9. What year is this bike?
  10. I would check out the cylinder and look for wear. Run the oil mixture rich for a tank or two. Don't rev the motor alot but run it in all ranges to get a even seat of the rings.
  11. It's a float problem not closing the needle jet shutting the fuel off. Just bend the little tab that closes the jet. The floats might not float or the jet might be gone. Take the bowl off, hook the carb back up to the fuel line and see where the float has to be to shut off the fuel.
  12. I had a 305 and the clutch work best with 30 weight motor oil.
  13. All techniques are good ,but I use the blip the clutch and throttle technique. Find a small hill to practice all of the techniques till you find your's.
  14. I would buy some liquid W-D40 put a couple oz. in the spark plug hole, kick it a few times then flip it over and kick some more.

    Exhaust Paint

LPS cold galvanizing is the way to go.

    Oil Petrol Mix

80 to 1 is good 100 to 1 is best for novice riders that never rev, but 50 to 1 makes me sick if I'm behind them waiting to ride.
  17. Before you do anything I would check that plug, I run 5s not 7s, but I ride a Gasser not a Beta. Find out what other beta boys are running. A cold plug wont run very hot. If the bike runs good, just change plugs more often, or lower your needle jet. Just make small changes and only one at a time. Is your air screw or fuel mixture adjusted right? Less fuel or more air makes a big difference. If your adjustment screw is in front of the slide (closest to the air filter) its air and if its after the slide its fuel. In order to adjust, screw in the idle alittle bit then screw in the adjustment screw, then unscrew it half a turn then rev your throttle open then off real quick, do this till your idle goes up then down with out alot of popping, smooth up then smooth down.
  18. Just an ideal as dumb as it may be, get a pair of mx boots and have them resoled. When I first started riding I had a pair of Fox mxers and I had them resoled and they were great, and they lasted longer than these flimsy trials boots.
  19. 3rd gear alot of motor, half clutch and squat down into the bike to lower your center of gravity. If that don't work buy a 4rt. LOL
  20. I knew I always hated the loop on the Red River for a reason. LOL
  21. Back in the day when I rode Master, I would grip the bars to tight and bounce the bike around alot and my neck and trap muscles would get tight and give me bad head aches. Push ups before I ride and after I ride fix it.
  22. Jza, I'm 6ft 1in and I have tall fat bars with 3/8in risers. I ride with my back strait but my knees are bent outward so the bike can work under me. I bet if you watch those top riders again their knees are bent and they are standing upright.
  23. I mix 112 racing fuel with pump gas, 80 to 1 on the oil and have never had a problem, unless I go up in the mountains then just 98 octane is good.
  24. To dig your heels in slip the clutch, lean back are all good, but bend your knees and lower your center gravity.
  25. Thanks Andy for the info, we have 2 inches of ICE not snow, getting a little stir crazy.
