Really enjoyed myself there today, hats off to dibs, rode like a champion, Browny very close behind, those 2 really were in a different class.
Good to see Becky Cook there riding well too.
-
Calm down boys. not sure some of those comments are really necessary.
As someone who organizes a championship hear in the eastern centre i know it can be hard to please everyone. Weather it be a centre or a national championship there will always be some rounds that are just round the corner from some people and a long long way from others.
I would add that i would be nice to see a couple more down south though, Tomorrow i will be headed down to kent for the final round of the british series, i would love to go to more rounds but coming from the suffolk area this is the only round that is even remotely close to me. I do sympathize with the riders and their parents (if were talking about the youth class).
We have a young lad in our centre who is has just wrapped up the youth A title this year and im well aware of just how far they have had to travel around the country for him to achieve this success.
Its a difficult job, as i say no matter where you run a trial it will always be close for some riders and not others.
-
i would class myself as a mid-range intermediate rider, here in the eastern centre we do have quite a variety in the sort of ground we ride on so looking for something that will work in all conditions. Plus i do ride nearly every week so looking for something that will last.
cheers

I have been getting some quotes for a new rear tyre for my 04 gas gas.
VEE Rubber tyres seem to be a lot cheaper than the michelin, dunlops etc, is there a reason for this or does the cheaper price represent a cheaper quality?
Would be interested to know if anybody else has tried them and if so what did they think? Worth a go?
-
No stopping the Mighty Mr Sheppard once again !!!
-
they made the front page last time they won, i have that edition with me now. Trials still get plenty of coverage in TMX.
-
glad you enjoyed it, when are you riding next?
-
agree with all of the above, the future is certainly looking good, not just in trials but for British two wheeled sport in general.
Must also mention a strong showing for young Jack Sheppard in only his 2nd world round, 2nd last week and 7th today.
-
Hi graham i'll be there to, did my first trial at raydon many years ago, is a good place to get started. my name is adam keeble, will keep an eye out for you.
Event starts at 10:30 but always good to get there an hour or so before to get signed on and have a look round.
Guess it will be over by around 2pm, ish.
Do you know where to go, not the easiest place to find, just round the corner from me.
Hope to see you there, have a good day.
-
2nd for Jack Sheppard today in the youth
7th yesterday in the european junior
We here in the eastern centre are all very proud of him.
-
yes jack's just turned 16, he is riding the european round today, the world tomorow and then france next week.
-
biggest shout has to go to our local star Jack sheppard making the step up for the first time.
Spent a bit of time with him over the past couple of weeks and i know he's well up for it, go jack go!!
-
Im not sure on the video but the guy you are talking about is probably the former north american champion Jack Stites, a former competitor and then commentator in the BBC kickstart competition during the 1980's.
-
Not that i wish to be the bearer of bad news but the met office have rain forcast for the next four days in Carlisle, just hope there wrong (it has been known).
Should still be an amazing weekend though.
-
our local hot shot jack Sheppard does it again, nice one. boys lookin good this year.
-
ok mate, thanks for that, obviously must have missed that bit, just starting to get bit worried as it less than two weeks to go.cant wait.
-
Has anybody else had problems getting hold of their tickets for the British world round next weekend?
Orderd mine on the official website nearly a month ago but not had any through the post yet.
Have tried contacting the guys on the website but no joy.
Can anybody help? cheers
-

agreed but i think the way this sport works the next generation coming through will always be better than the one before, Miller, Vesterinen, Schreiber, Legeune, Tarres, Lampkin, Raga, Bou.
Each of these riders were the best of there time, no doubt 20 years time we will be calling another group of youngsters the greatest of all time.
-
could any rider survive sometimes with out a minder, not just doug?
I think this thread was started to discuss is Dougie the greatest trials rider ever, not the best current rider,
Yes Mr Bou stands head and shoulders above everyone rite now, much as doug did 10years ago. We will have to wait until Toni retires to see just how much he has achieved in his career to compare him to doug.
-
If we are talking about the greatest ever i think it has to be between Lampkin, Tarres and Sammy Miller, Prehaps hard to compare Dougie and Sammy as we are talking about different era's but in the modern day dougie's record speaks for itself.
99 World Outdoor Wins / 36 Indoor
7 World Outdoor Championships
5 World Indoor Championships
1 European Championship
3 Scottish Six Days Trial Wins
7 British Trials Championships
2 Spanish Outdoor Championships
3 Trial de Nations Wins
8 Sheffield Indoor Wins
Cant argue with that can you.
-
Pulse TV is no longer around, shame because those trials programmes were good, as well as the hill climbs and ice racing.
-
Jack Burnicle said during the last indoor event that all outdoor rounds would be covered by eurosport this season. He also said they were increasing there coverage from half hour to one hour for each round.
-
the guy is amazing, you saw the rear wheel get pretty sideways but he hung on to it, didn't even need a foot.
-
its easy enough to join, even our site owner andy is on there now.
