  1. Right as always Nigel "CHISPA" is the way to say it. The name was taken from the Bultaco kidddie bike of the same name, but spelled with the CH instead of the X. Remember, they got their start with the kiddie bikes.
  2. Why not ask the previous owner what oil he used and continue same? ELF htx 740 is so good it need not be changed as often as other oils.
  3. That Lad is a quick healer!
  4. 2-3 minutes should not cause it to steam up. it musta been running longer. make sure the throttle cable is not fouled by the petcock when you install the tank good luck ps never put the bike in gear in this situation
  5. Sorry to hear that. Good Luck to the Yanks trying to go with only a three man team.
  6. No need for 450's in trials mate. Trials bikes need only produce about 18 to 20 hp and that is easily done with 250 to 300cc four stroke. The MX bikes need to produce 40 to 50 HP hence the need for bigger motors. You are applying MX logic to Trials design. All the trials bikes are very close in power production. What is needed in trials is torque and a broad power deliver not max HP.
  7. What happened mate? Is the lad OK? Does that mean that the Yanks will go with a 3 man team at the TdN?
  8. The real battle is now for fourth in the championship. With only 1 point seperatin 4th, 5th and 6th. 2008 WC standings Go Doug!
  9. Hola Roberto, quality is what you need to look for in a used bike. Montesa, Scorpa and Beta are the best quality bikes when they are new and that holds true for them used. They all have good motors that have proven to be reliable, the frames are top quality and they use quality components. Just pick one of those three that is in good condition and suits your style. As for the Xispa, there are not any used ones out there.

Make sure the head pipe collar is tight. (don't over tighten) If it is loose it can cause a mis-fire. Art
  15. No Twin Shock series.....Yet? What are they waiting for? This seems to be a happening Twin Series. MAVT Nice Ossa.
  16. Nice report. Beautiful pics. Looks like a great place to ride. Maybe you boys can tell me, why no Twin Shock class in AHRMA?

as far as I know Bernie's World Championship bike of 1980 was mostly Bultaco except the engine cases. Frame, forks, wheels, gearbox, cylinder, piston, head, exhaust, airbox etc...all Bultaco someone surley know more....

The 2 mechanical DNF's on the Green Bultaco in 1980 cost him the title. I believe he won 6 rounds that year. and by 1981 he was on the standard bike, which was a pig. by the time he got onto a good bike (SWM) Lejeune had come into his own.
  21. Ishy, you need a need Gonkulator.
  22. for artie replied to motovintage's topic in Italjet
Right you are Mate. Green Bultacos. That bike cost Schreiber at least one and most likely 2 World Titles. The all green Kermit Krasher is not my style, but the white plastics on the later model make it look better.
  23. My mates just got one for his boy. Great little bike!
  24. maybe because they are 5 years late to the party. and with a shovelhead no less. and they have been telling us all for years that 4 strokes are no good for trials.
