December to March is not quite long term
I wonder if Scorpa are putting the presure on other importers across Europe, if so they cuold end up with ''Egg On Their Face''
Martin and Neil are/have done/doing an excellent job, I had a Scorpa in 2003 and had a slight problem during the SSDT, both could not do enough for me.
Good Luck to both of them

I lost all my coolant last weekend through the water pump housing, mine was a bit meor than a pin hole
It is worth checking, I have used that putty stuff that sets to metal, my bike nipped up but no real damage, but as I am taking the ''OLD GIRL'' round Scotland I have given it a new piston rings, little end bearing etc.
Funny story..got it all back together and tidying up my bench and found one ''CIRCLIP'' that holds the gudgeon pin in .a few choice words bellowed from inside my garage. Still I am pretty damn good at taking the cylinder off now.
Now running a treat and no water leaks....so all you Beta riders, wip the water pump cover off and check it may be cheaper than new barrell
-
The best thing that ever happened to the Scottish, was to take it back to the no stop rule.
This made the sections slightly easier, e.g The big step at Piers was taken out, as this required some hopping and skipping.
Also cut out on a majority of ''Delay'' 7 Hours on the bike is hard enough without sitting on the moors in the p*****g rain and snow for 1 1/2 Hours delay on one section
In the 90's one year there were only 160+ riders, now it well over subscribed so no stop is the way forward.............ah forward, back to the subject
Agree with some of the points listed, my general feeling is that the observers know it is a long week and will generally give you the benefit of the doubt. Someone hopping and skipping may get the five, where as someone with both feet down pushing and struggling to the end having stopped briefly maybe 3 or 4 times may get the Three.
Some Obsevers are strict some are leneant, it is how it is and has been for several years.............at the end of the week you will still get a winner, like every trial week in week out.
You will also get the conversation that ''if that observor had given me a 3 I would have beat you'', does it matter !!! my point is there are 270 lucky people riding the best event in the world in May the observors will continue to do what they have been doing over the last 'X' years, and at the end of the weekwe wondered why we ever entered...........that is until the entry forms come out for the following year.

In your case, Kinell, it will be your seat thats sticking out
Is everyone happy with their number
-
So is that b****y seat
How's the Mk 3,4,5,6,7,.......Version
-
Hey ''GSA'' are those your initials or are you the owner of a BMW Adventure
-
135-180 is not too clever early on Thursday
Long, cold ride to Chairlift, tightish on time, so no delay at the front.
Apart from that any number close to the back of the groups of 45 then at least there have been a few riders through the section on your early day
What about you ???
-
The top British riders tend to ride the traditional sections better, certainly in the latter years the trial has got more ''Clubman'' friendly, hence is a lot easier for the top riders.
A 5 would make a lot of difference to their score, so it is more about consistancy than being a better rider.
Graham and Co. have proven that they are consistant over the 6 days, there is no proof about Mr Cabestany, so my bet is with Graham.
Eddy Lejune never won the SSDT, on numerous attempts, however he did win the World Championships.................so which is harder to win
-
With all that money you need to have a good ''BANK'' do you know one??????
I also look forward to the SSDT every year.................it starts on the Sunday driving back home from Fort William
HL.............I thought you would be juggling numbers, but I see you are logged on
-
It has been said before...........Michael Brown good result, hopefully some factory will get hold of him when he does the Europeans.
Good bet for Best First Timer in the SSDT
-
Shame about Lagnaha.........it was agreat spectator group
-
You know Andy spends many hours on this web site, and has listed different forums for discussion
There is one on there listed GAS GAS...........Amazing
When talking about a Gas Gas it may be appropriate to post it there.
There again who looks at the Gas Gas forum.....I await for the abuse
-
Bl**dy Hell I know you are a fairly good rider, but you ain't GOD
See you in May
-
I manage part of a company and we run a fleet of Transits...Ideal for the weekend to put the bike in
I have just received through the post, 2 seperate incidents, one in Wiltshire and one in Yorkshire of my vehicles speeding on a Dual Carrigeway, one at 75mph and one at 72mph.
I actually thought the police were being a bit petty, however they did enclose a Government leaflet which reads:
Built up Areas
Cars 30mph Panel Vans 30mph
Single Carriageway
Cars 60mph Panel Vans 50mph
Dual Carriageway
Cars 70mph Panel Vans 60mph
Motorways
Cars 70mph Panel Vans 70mph
So maybe not so petty as they were both speeding.........Maybe they are having another go at getting more coffers out of the motorist.
I was not aware of this but.............I don't do 70mph on a Dual Carriageway or 60mph on a Single Carriageway.......my van labours at this speed
So be warned

Obviously not ishy, if you ended up at the petrol check back to Fort Bill and missed the raod leading into Laggon ............. If you did it on purpose like a lot of riders did then they would have turned in, hence my quote
They knew where to turn in...........I believe you, some may not...........but it still p****d me off the riders that saved marks on time knowing full well what they were doing
As for a road marker, there were probably more on that junction than any other in the trial, but aggree could be missed as you come round a left hander.
Agreed, I suggested the same on SSDT forum, there are always extra observers on most sections, so your time allowance would finish at the last group. time written on your card.............Tommy used to do time control, but it was just outside of Fort William, apart from some years we were clocked off at Fersit. The problem was people used to race to Tommy, doing some scary stuff to make up a bit of time.
Locals, general public, Mr 'Plod' do not see us on the moors, so they can only judge on what they see on the road. Riders hanging there A***S out trying to make up time does not give a good impression of what Trials Riding is all about................I am passionate about the SSDT, we have all got to help in our own way to help the club.
-
Absolutely brilliant rider. Michael has just turned 18, so needs to make the impression soon.
He is doing the Europeans this year, so hopefully one of the teams might pick him up.
I wouldn't mind a small bet on best first timer in the SSDT
-
Fine thanks this get fit campaign is bl***y killing me
Minus 20 degrees in Canada, good training for the run up to chairlift I suppose
See you end March
-
Should this thread not be in the Sherco forum
-
So with this years trial getting ever closer, I and many others will be wondering what will be new this year.
New sections maybe, new routes, a lot more 4 strokes... so it should be interesting.
I know Mark asked for feed back about last years trial, and taking nothing away from the SSDT web site..........it seems more people visit here, so time to open the gates for some constructive discussion.
What really p***ed me off last year and even in 2003,2002, 2001... was the moor crossing over to Laggon Locks.....it's not that long but it's the sting in the tail at the end of the day. What p***ed me off even more was the riders that chose to go round on the road and get away with it saving themselves loads of time. These riders have to be regulars in the SSDT.....or they carry a road map .otherwise they wouldn't know, maybe it's the same people that have got their entry and trying to sell it on
So my input is I hope they put a marshal at the road junction leading in to Laggon Locks, and exclude anyone coming round
So come on, not a lot can be done to what I think is the best trial in the world.............we are just adding the cream on top of a perfect coffee.........if that makes sense.
The debate is now open..............
-
Black is the colour for slow...............Black 1150gs...........Slow
White.......Aluminium......enough said......JB
-
Good to see you yesterday ''Kinell'' and good to see the seat....tool box thingy.......
Hey if it works for you then go for it, ignore the critisism. I presume it stayed on till the end, not exactly Ranach Moor out there, but it was a reasonable test.
So what's the verdict, looks good for the road, not too sure whether I could ride the sections with it on.......Ok before you say it I can't ride them even with it off
See you in Fort Bill if not before
Mark............
-
Don't think so
Even on a bike that requires an MOT, it states ''If lights are fitted they must be working''.....Correct me if I am wrong
Anyway if that were the case, the police would have a field day at every road trial.................SSDT is a good example...270 bikes...No lights
Follow Munch's thread, thats the way..........apart from the insurance it only costs the price of the tax disc.
-
Mmmmmmmm.................Let me think
Stick to me Camelpack....But Thanks.
Don't want anything on the bike, its heavy enough with me
-
Not a Problem
Are you going to ''Patent'' this tool box, seat thingamagiggy ????
That's ''Patent'' not ''Paint it''
-
Kinnel
I have 2 x Fantic tool boxes....Must admit it was the first thing I took off when I bought my 200, then 240
However you can gladly have one if you are still going down that route and it helps your SSDT needs.
Does not mean you will finish ........... only joking
Let me know, if not see you in May.
