  1. Sorry to say this i've checked all the listings I have for towbar suppliers and can't find one that lists an MR2, of any year, might be a toyota only job. the listings i've checked are towsure, witter, tow trust, bosal, brink and PCT. None of these list a MR2. Sorry about that, if you do find one let me know who the supplier is though, it might be useful in the future......................
  2. This link is a handy one to have, it gives you full parts lists for all beta's beta parts list
  3. The throttle cable is attached to the slider with a nipple that passes through a hole in the top of the slider. Thinking about it you can also get cable extenders, a small extension piece that goes over the the cable and pushes out the external part of the cable. which then will make the cable tighter. offering you some adjustment back. its an easy job to fit these at the bar end on domino throttle assemblies.
  4. no you cant do that to adjust the cable, is it a domino throttle on the bike?. if it is i just got a replacement cable from B.V.M's, only
  5. Name and shame so we all know who it is................
  6. I have known quite a few beta's with stator problems, could be your not putting out enough of a spark to start if the plugs wet with fuel. They seem to like holding water in after a wash. Richard
  7. I was chatting to a bloke with an 05 280 last sunday and hes had 2 sets of clamps on it already, gasgas have made a better clamp now and should change them for free, he had both sets for free, better than
  8. Yep i run my the aprilia the same 70:1, i also use 98 octane fuel as well, found it gives a bit better reponse, 98 octane is the blue pumps. For the sake of a few pence it helps.
  9. Hey r2w what issues did 2002 model have then?, first i've heard about, i'm looking at getting a 2002 280 at the moment. maybe i'll look for something different. Richard
  10. See what i mean about a wealth of knowledge. Thank you all very much. Richard
  11. I was wondering if there was a dealer who specialised in Aprilia parts in the UK. I don't need many spares at the moment but a dealer who could help is always a bonus. Thanks in advance because I know you all have a wealth of knowledge. Richard

    Wiring

Sorry not to clever the wiring colours on gas gas, but dont connect your thermostat wire to a live feed, it should only be connected to the earth feed to the fan which will already have a live feed, the thermostat sends the earth to the fan to make it work. There is a way to test, if you start the bike and connect a wire to a good earth on the bike and try the other end in some of the connectors to see which one makes the fan turn on, the one that does is the one you need to connect the thermostat wire to. Hope this helps. also make sure when you find it to run the bike and make sure the fan kicks in. Richard.
  13. Motopat, if you click the trials central banner at the top of the page you will open up the main web page there is a drop down link there for classified ads. Theres 3 pairs of boots of boots on there at the moment, hope this helps you. Richard
  14. Easiest way to explain it is the weights help the generated force centrifugally, in laymans terms it keeps the revs going without labouring the engine to much. Motocrossers dont have the weights because they use higher revs for a more sustained period. It a bit basic but if you took the weights out you would notice the revs dying out quicker on climbs. Hope this helps a bit.
  15. Sat down last night with my nice hot cup of coffee eagerly awaiting the start of the St Petersburg indoor ( hoping to see dougie stomp some authority ), the program started late because of the boxing then when it came on, I dont know if it was just me, but all the camera men and camera angles were making me go boss eyed, all the good trick bits you hope see the camera was pointing at floor or the lights overhead, if it wasn,t for the commentary keeping you up to date I would have been lost! Had to get that one off my chest. How comes Dougie comes good on the stock bike? Richard
  16. Kinell has the right idea, the only difference is i use a de-watering spray after the jet washer, then silkolene chain lube in a spray tin nice and easy with no mess over the nice clean rims.

    Flywheel Cover

That looks the dogs B*****s, its a good idea to trick up bikes with the personal touch and easier to trace if it gets nicked, could you do them with postcodes on as well? I'll order 2 when you've got it right.
  18. My son has a slightly older version of the techno, a 94, found that when we got the bike the clutch was very snatchy and dragged all the time, stripped it down and cleaned all the plates and changed the oil to a 75w oil, since then the clutch has been perfect, i didnt notice any markings on the clutch plates and just put them back in any order. Dont over fill the oil as well because affects it badly. 500mls is all it needs. If you can try and get the PJ1 oil 75w clutch tuner, its really good. Hope this helps. Richard
  19. took him out on it all day today and he got on really well with it, where we were riding it was really slippery and he did well copping with the weight and the power difference, didn't come of it once even after all the hills i made him ride. The clutch was totally rebuilt last night by myself, cleaned and took off the rust it has accumulated for some unknown reason. Theres no snatch on it and its a smoother action than my aprilia one. drained the oil on it when we came to make sure theres no water getting in, and the oil was as clean as when it went in last night. Thanks for all the advise from everybody. Richard
  20. He has been riding for about a year now on a Montesa cota 80, 1980 ish, hes ridden my aprilia climber quite a bit now as well so i thought it should be a good investment with the beta to make sure he feels ready for competing, you can bet he'll be wanting a new bike by summer. Thanks for the advise for the fuel as well.

    1994 250 Beta

going out to buy my son a 1994 250 beta this weekend as a step up bike to make sure he's still interested. been told its a good bike, i need to know the fuel mixture ratio though. All help will be greatfully recieved. Also need to know the best 2 stroke oil to run it on as well. Cheers.
  22. You could go for a daylight licence only on the bike as well, all you need fitted is a horn and road legal tyres. And a standard sized number plate. You will need an mot certificate to state is for daylight use only though, trouble with this is most police dont understand the daylight licence rules and you get pulled over alot. The bike has got to built as a single rider machine, no need for a saddle as it does not need one. Hope this gives you something else to think about.
  23. Heres a good supply for all drive trains of every description, they will make sprockets any size or shape to suit. They will even supply you a blank if you can do your own machining on the centres. Not bad prices and mail order as well. http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk
  24. t-shock 250 The problem I seem to have with tyre pressures is getting them just right to cover a whole trial from the tree roots and clay slopes to wet slippery climbs out of the water, i've found that with the new IRC's on i run the front at 6.5lb and the rear at 3.5lb, this seems to have been the best for me so and stops me spinning the rear all the time and without losing any control from the front end. Havent got that many rocks down this way so i'm yet to try.
  25. Just changed from michelin to IRC on my aprilia climber and the difference is unbelievable, gone from a totally crap rider to just crap now. Its all in the right direction. Tyre pressures are the hardest thing i'm struggling with, but practise makes perfect.
