My thoughts exactly Dman!!!!!!!!!!
-
Pastmaster?
Old enough to know better?
-
If the idea has merrit for the World Championship Why not the National Championship? It might help a second teir rider if they knew that they had the chance to see some expense money.
-
OK Lane start from the beginning!!
-
In the center of the country, Kansas [AVTA] Missouri [MATT] Oklahoma [NEOTT]the class are as follows
1 Master
2 Expert
2A SR Expert
3 Intermediate
4 Amature
4A SR Amature
5 Novice
6 Beginner
Sr classes reqire you to be atleast 40 yrs old to get a score and slightly modified lines {harder]. Sr Expert use Intermediate line, Sr Amature use Amature lines
The Central Regionals run under this class structure and seem to work very well. I'm not sure about all the Texas clubs but I think that they use similar classes.

I'll stand buy with a fire extinguisher to put out the fires

Hey Mark glad to see you finally made it home, after Al's apple juice i thought you might of got lost
-
-
NO MICH-LIN SHE WAS YELLING AT THE JUDGES, HER MINDER WAS YELLING AT THE JUDGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!a BIG NO NO.
She did not miss a split but when through a green or 125 gate to make the line easier.if she wantrs to ride with the boys she should expect equal treatment!
-
Correct you are Al
She should have recieved one more on section 10 first loop, she rode through the blue gate then through the green gate and recieved a 5 then proceeded to yell then her minder started to yell. 4 of the 5 judges in the section called the 5 the only one who didn't was the punch judge, we asked him why he did not pull the yellow card he said " She was not yelling at me she was yelling at you guys!"
-
She would have done even better if she hadn't yelled every time she recieved a point on Sat.
-
I was always a supporter of the 125 youth classes but seeing the UK and Spanish youth riders reinforced the idea!!
If there are more UK riders at home like the ones who came to TTC you guys are in good shape for a long time.
Hey Nigel don't you have some connection with Wiggy? I wanted to talk to his DAD about how he tunes his bike but he was busy getting it ready for the next day. Is there an address where I could e-mail him some questions?
Thanks
-
Just got home from TTC an hour ago, just a short 800 mile drive.
Glad I finally got to meet you Andy{I was the judge at the top of #10 on Saturday} Wow that Wiggy is GOOOOD, whoever taught those boys how to ride the 125's needs to come over here. I Knew he was pretty talented by the video's I have seen of him but in person he was very impressive!!!!
Overall it was a fantastic weekend all the Kansas riders finished well, I was a minder on Friday, Judged for 8 hours on Saturday and drove home 13 hours on Sunday now I can go back to work so I can get some rest!
-
Ok Lane I'll Bite on this one.
Do you an Debbie pay retail for your Bikes?
To be quite honest does anybody in the US pay retail?
Until the importers demand a dealer network that doesn't consist of
garage dealers trials will remain as it is a small niche market.
Don't get me wrong I like trials and trials people the way they are now, friendly and helpful. So do we keep the status quo or take a more professional approach? I don't have an answer just more questions but i do know that Trials in the US could be stopped at anytime the EPA see's fit!
If the importers have no new bikes to sell trials will eventually die.
And by the way I am in favor of supporting 125's for the kids, my son is on one and will stay on one!
-
-
Got my TC stickers today
Thanks alot Andy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I went from 9/44 to 9/46 on my sons 03 125 PRO, it really helps him pick the front end up quicker and it makes 2nd gear more useable!
-
You need to be more specific, what year DT175. The piston should work,Half of the crank is the same on some DT's. The clutch assembly can be used but you have to change the whole assembly including the crank gear because the drive ratio is different. A lot of other parts on the engine will work but you have to get on the parts fiche and look.
Don't pay a lot for the DT not that much will work perfectly!
-
Great thread by a bunch of first class people. For all the things we need to fix or change the one thing that we Do Not what to change are the people. In the 20 years I have made some fantastic friends from all over the country. {Wayne thanks again for all the help you gave Jake and I at TTC youth nationals in 04} Trials people are the most friendly and helpful people in all of motorsports period!!!! :santawink:
-
Sooo!! How many times have you saw Smage ride????????
I have seen Wiggy, granted it was video clips, both are very very good.
It will be interesting to watch!!
-
Now that the gangs all here, let's begin
-
Alan step back from the keyboard!!!! Breathe deedly!!!
Feel better now??
The fact that everyone is so passionate about the state of trials, especially youth trials, in the USA is fantastic. I have been to the Youth Nationals the last 3 years an see great things coming in the future IF we find a way keep they interested and excited about riding!!!!!!
I see Lane's point about the 125 class, it gives the younger riders a goal, a prize that seems reachable. How so, look at Cody's results the last 2 years in the 125 rounds that he rode, with an unfamiliar bike, without the trick parts and development, he had some fantastic results.
No I don't agree with lane on everthing but we do need a more cohesive direction!!!!! We have to start somewhere, and the sooner the better. I know almost all of you posting in this have kids that are riding now and that you only want the best for them.
Lane I'm glad your back, because agree with him or not you make people think!!!!!! We do need to think outside the box for once. Changes are needed on that we all somewhat agree, how soon they are made will directly effect the 10-14 year olds and how they progress through the ranks.
-
Very well said Dabs.
Perfect weekend for riding!
Oh Yeah it helped that I won both days, took the overall and won the Central Regionals in the Sr. Expert class
-
My 12 yearold has beat the crap out of an 03 125 Pro for over 2 years with nothing but regular maintanence. And believe me that bike has hit the ground a few times.
There are a few wrinkels in the tissue paper and the shell hasn't cracked!
Would I buy another one? You Bet, matter of fact getting him a new one in the spring!
-
Chuck won with 2 points on a tiebraker on Sat. Jayme Baker won on Sunday,Mike Smith took second and Josh came home 3rd. The Ama. Line was a lot harder on Sunday Big Chuck fell to fourth place, Josh had 3 fives and ended up with 20 points. He was really disapointed not to get a jacket And Scott really talked him up at the award. In the end it was a good series, The weather was perfect for Nov.
I did find a way to console him berfore we left though,I found out that he had the state championship wraped up so next month we're moving up to Intermediate.
