Completely normal. Sounds like something is wrong but it is the clutch rattling! You'll get used to it!
-
I'm sure when you say coolant, you mean for the radiator? only asking as you have been working on the gear box, unless you emptied the radiator too!?
What Jon says for the coolant mix.

My engagement gear broke last year. It was in perfect condition and it broke between the teeth and the hole where it goes on the shaft. Bit of a pain in the ass but lucky it didn't break all the teeth off and mess up the gear box.
The spring tension was still there and it was spinning the shaft.

Another vote for Nikwax, brilliant stuff. Keeps the boots in good condition too!

1. Hamilton, because he won the championship.
2. Rebecca Adlington
3. Andy Murray
Thats my prediction but who i'd like to win is another story. It's not about the sports persons personality anymore, which is the point of the show afterall??
These days it's going on how popular the sport is. Motorcycling in general isn't very prominent. Toseland was very fortunate to be in the final 10 for the voting on the night (i voted twice for him). He was very unfortunate not to get third as he wasn't far off in fourth. Formula One, Tennis and the olympics are very prominent, especially on the BBC.
In my opinion, the top three should be:-
1. Chris Hoy
2. Joe Calzaghe
3. Andy Murray
Every year on the night when they give an overview of what happened over the year, Motorsport in general, but especially motorcycling, gets about 10 minutes on air, the rest is filled by (no offence to who likes it) bloomin football! I for one think that every sport should get equal time on the TV throughout the year. But, we all know that will never happen and the toffs at any sport channel will kiss footballs ass!!
My rant over!!!!!

Isn't he the guy who owns DC Shoes?!

It was a shock to me that GG made kart engines. I just came across it when i searched "F1 Karts" in google!! I wonder how good they are!?
If you listen closely to the gear changes on the on-board camera, they are very quick changes. IMO i reckon they are too quick for him to be using a clutch at the same time. Some sort of automatic clutch or just no clutch and firing the gears in on the revs?! The seperate pedals for front and rear brakes would make sense if that was the case.
Bit of info on that course...where that chicane is, made out of hay bails, that never used to be there. There is a nasty bump in the road just before it and the karts would bottom out and jump and you would be luck to stay rubber side up! The chicane was put there to slow them down after a fatal accident on the bump.
-
I think they were the gearboxed karts, not sure what size engine that would of been but probably the 250cc. going by the speed of it. They were humongously fast and if you crashed one of them it would of hurt!
Incidently did you know Gas Gas made kart engines... http://images.google.im/imgres?imgurl=http...l%3Den%26sa%3DN

Sorry to put a dampner on this thread guys but the Kart GP hasn't been held for the last few years. Unfortunately it was a victim of a severe lack of competitors wanting to come over. If memory serves correctly, it was part of some british championship at the time so alot of the british pro's would come over to race.
Along with a lack of drivers there were a few deaths along the way. It was on the streets around Peel so was very dangerous. It was brilliant to watch though and it is unfortunate that it was cancelled.

I've had a pair of XC-ting Section Evolution boots for a while now. They are really comfy and as good i think, than hebo's, which i have had previously. They have worn well and have very good waterproofing to start with but, after a while, like many other brands the waterproofing wears off. I found it lasted longer on these than my hebo's. Resonable price too.

Yes, i can see a few problems with the youth round and the sidecar round the following day with the prices and the weather too. I hope that too many people aren't put off by prices but they shouldn't be as high as they are at TT in February.
Take a look in Youth Trials, reagrding the first round of the 2009 Youth Championship. Might be helpful to you, telecat. And others hopefully.

Our Centre Championship, here on the Isle of Man, is still road based, moving from group to group via roads (occassionally) with alot of fun track work too. I really enjoy the national events, the Manx 2 day (of course), have ridden the Reeth 3 Day the past 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed it along with the lakes. It is a shame that in the UK alot of trials have gone to closed circuit laps. I for one am definately all for road based, national type trials.

Raptor pegs are brilliant. Would recommend them. They are expensive but worth it.
-
Sealskinz, never had a problem and the long ones are great. Especially if the rivers are high!!! Very waterproof and very breathable too.
-
I was recommended 50:1 mix by my dealer. 100ml to every 5 litres, Motul 710. I have always used the green plastic jerry cans, they do the job nicely and i've had no need for the big metal ones. plus it keeps costs down!!
-
Totally agree, I live on the island and just getting away any other time of the year is expensive enough. Everyone is having the same problems and

Mine is as standard as the day i bought it and i have had no quarms about the power. Yes, it is powerful but i do prefer the way the power is made, especially at the bottom end. I tried an 09 300 the other day with a flywheel weight and i didn't really like it. I just got the impression it wouldn't give the power that you wanted. I only rode it for a few minutes so probably didn't get the full impression of it.
-
Cubby, you need a proper go on my 300. Maybe at the next trial? I'd recommend a 300 to ya. I prefer mine so much more than a 250 because of the torque on the bottom end. I found my 250 really harsh on the bottom end, it was like the throttle was either on or off. but the 300 is much better and it has the top end power for when you need where the 250 might run out of grunt. Power delivery is really smooth and really manageable.
-
Never heard that one before! All i know is that if you have lights on the bike then they HAVE to work but if you don't have any, such as a headlight, you can put it through for just a day time MoT. When are you going to be riding your trials bike at night to be fair!??
Plus your number plate, tax and insurance, horn and speedo!

I see the price of the Oxo cube has shot up again
The stock market's gone crazy!

It sounds like it's about to seize to me. My 04 fan seized, before it did it started howling. Didn't think anything of it but the next day whilst cleaning, i started her up and the afn never kicked in and it boiled over, luckily i noticed and shut her down, but it never ran again and i had to get a new one. bit on the expensive side. I was told by my dealer, Juan Knight, to give the back of the motor a spray of wd40 to keep it lubed and to disapate the water after washing, hasn't bothered my 07 which i've had since the end of 06!
-
Ah yes, Carla, she gave many hours of humour at last years TdN on the Isle of Man. She was never happy all weekend, certainly made a few of us giggle anyway! Poor minders i say! I also seem to remember that Laia shouted the odd obusive remark to her minder aswel, she took too long mulling over sections in my opinion, which cost her the world championship.
-
Is it really that fast or is the photogapher just good at taking blurred background shots!??! Somehow i'm thinking that it's not gonna be hugely fast, well not 95mph down the weston beach front fast anyway!
-
21 seconds...D'oh! That was the trip over the handlebars that did it! Unlucky Billy, better luck next year!
