  1. Can i just correct you and say that it was at the TT, not the MGP. Although i was pretty scepticle about the whole thing, i was very surprised. I was at the Grandstand on that, frankly, historic day and there was quite an atmoushpere. Yes there is no noise from the engine and yes they are slow but it certainly had the crowds on their feet. As the first few bikes who made it round started coming through, it was amazing at the speed they were going at, after 37.73 miles! Some obviously didn't make it the whol way and some only just ran out of 'juice' on the last few miles. Some decided to push and that shows dedication. Some of them looked knackered but wouldn't give up! While they may not be what we're used to, they probably are the future. I am one of those people who doesn't want to lose the combustion engine but seeing all this new technology is interesting, you've got to admit. I wouldn't say ban them, i'd say, bring it on, may the best power win!
  2. Does anyone have or know where the press release is? I've just been looking on the FIM website and cannot find anything to do with next years rules. Would be interesting to read it. If it's correct that WTC isn't going non-stop, it sounds as though Raga won his little fight! He seemed to be the only rider bothered about the rule changes. I heard that Bou was told before the end of the season to start practicing non-stop by Montesa because thats the way it was going to go.
  3. What a great event! Very well done to the organisers, excellent! It was a shame Knighter was ill and pulled out after the first of the three final races but, Grimbo put on one hell of a show! He nearly had Taddy beat! I do have to say though that the highlight of the night was the clubman and pro-expert races! They were by far the best! All credit to them, the first set of tyres were pretty big! Hell of a night and it was a shame it didn't sell out. Loads of space left. Surely if Sheffield get it again next year it will be a bit fuller!

    07/08 Gasgas?

I've got an 07 and it is in great condition. Had it from new and it's been great. Just had the suspension linkage bearings done, so no issues there. I've had issues with my gearbox but they are fixed and it's like new now, it's never been sweeter! With any bike, as long as you keep on top of the maintanence they'll stay together for you! I'm looking to sell it so i can get a 2010 (if i'm allowed!) Yeah, there wasn't much difference between the 07's and the 08's, footpeg repositioning was certainly one thing they changed but, apart from that i can't remember much else apart from cosmetics. As long as it's been well looked after then i don't see why you shouldn't own an 07/08 GG.
  5. Buy a cycling computer mebob! That'll do the trick! Don't need anything fancy. Not exaclty sure how far a standard Gas Gas tank will go for, but will get a good few hours out of them.
  6. Yeah, go through your dealer and get AllBalls Racing. Very reasonably priced and they seem to be a popular choice.
  7. Will be very interesting to see if it turns out like that. Wouldn't like to put money on that being the reason, but i could be proved wrong. If the rest followed suit then it would seem more likely. Would love to see that happen.
  8. It's never run well on the road. It seems to hate the road. At a normal club trial at the weekend the engine just stopped and wouldn't start again. He's always had little problems with the carb and has fussed with it a few times to try and cure it, changing some of the insides etc. We are going to try and cure it tonight so your advice might be the cure!! will keep you posted.
  9. Does anyone have the carb settings for a 2009 250 to hand? My mates bike isn't running properly. It starts and runs on the choke but when the choke is off it starts to die and when the throttle is turned to keep the revs up it will be slow to pick up the revs or just bog down and die. The carb has been cleaned and the air filter is clean. cheers guys!
  10. grip glue is awsome! I use Renthal grip glue (mostly on my grips) but when i use it on a decal it's awsome!
  11. It was the same as RichT's problem. One of the bushes was sitting ever so slightly proud of the hole. All i need to do now is the swing arm pivot bearings! Oh how i love doing bearings!!
  12. I've had the linkage off many times. It's all sorted now so just need to ride a trial!!!
  13. Everything was in the right way round!! I made sure of that! Mine was an allballs kit too. It is binding on the bushes. Both the bushes seem flush with the swingarm which is the most annoying part, i'm gonna play with it tonight and sort it, now i know whats wrong with it, i'm not so worried. Atleast i don't have to spend
  14. Haha, good one cubby! You are so funny! !!!!!Never mind!!!!!
  15. Got them done, used Jon's method and it worked a treat, will be using that again when the time comes!! Cheers!! Only thing is, i got it all back together and not only discovered that the swingarm pivot bearings need doing (annoying) but the shock is NOT rebounding (even more annoying). I put my weight onto the pegs and it just sags and doesn't come back up like it should. I have to pull it back up. I loosened off the nuts sligthly to see if i had tightened them too much but it wasn't to be! Can't see anything that would be stopping it, so does that sound like a knackered shock to you guys? it was working fine on sunday!
  16. Hi, I'm in the middle of getting my bearings done and i'm struggling to get them out of the swingarm. Are there any helpful tips out there to help me out? I have the 'top hat' bushes out but i can't get the rest out. Any help will be very much appreciated. cheers
  17. Never really had much of an issue with it on my bike, only occasionally after a long run on the road it starts to knock slightly. I let the revs die off and it seems to go back to normal! Never changed the settings on my carb from when i bought it, it's an 07 which i got at the end of 06. I run Shell V-Power with a 50:1 mix. Very rarely run anything else, if i can help it.
  18. I couldn't get home for 4pm yesturday and don't have sky+ so waited up for the later showing! But as something had over run earlier in the day, everything was an hour behind. Quite annoyed by not getting to bed til 1am but it was good coverage! Sky+ is definately the future!

    2010 Prices

Now it's September does anyone have any better info on the prices for the new bikes?
  20. I use the Motul spray-on stuff. Seems to work rather well!
  21. Entry lists are now up on the website! www.manx2day.com Your start time will be in your pack when you sign on on friday night. It will be on your route cards in the top right hand corner.
  22. Just thought i'd say that my bike is back together. Apparently a bearing had collapsed on the main gear shaft. It got caught up in the gears, ruined the shaft and a couple of gears. Haven't got the bike back yet and don't know what the damage to my bank account will be but i have a feeling it's gonna be expensive. The engine had to be stripped (obviously) and the parts replaced. I'll be glad when i start it up and it doesn't crunch!!
