Was wondering if there are any pictures knocking round from the lakes at the weekend??!

Late 90's...possibly 96 or 97.

I use Motul 710 in my GG. The 710 is the green stuff and the red is 800 but is only recommended for enduro and motox. GG uk recommend the 710 for trials. try the gas gas uk online shop it is very good.

I try to clean it as soon as i get home from a trial either with the YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE spray on detergent or with good old hot water and fairy liquid! Both work really well. If i don't wash it straight away it'll be the day after. The main reason i do it the same day is so that it is easier to clean plus if it was a wet trial, then leaving it in the garage over night covered in wet mud doesn't really help it. If it was an exceptionally muddy trial i'll strip her down and give a really good clean, getting into all the nooks and crannys that you can't get to when she is together. When i've finished, i would usually either spray it with the YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE after spray or start her up and dry her down with the heat of the engine and a cloth. then give the spoke nipples a coating of wd40 to disperse the water and try to prevent them rusting and give the gear lever, brake lever, kick start and foot pegs springs and coating too, spot them seizing etc.

I'm going to touch up the frame on my 07. The paintwork has come away and rubbed off on the lower part of the frame where the boots rub, on both sides. The right side is worse where the paint has actually come away from the frame and the left has simply just been rubbed off. I've got it ready to paint but i am wondering what is the best paint to use and do i have to put a base coat on it first to help it dry and set correctly???
Any help would be appreciated, ta!

Not being a clerk of the course, i found this thread quite interesting. In my opinion, reading the evidence, i would scrub the section.
You cannot trust what the rider says (no offence to anyone) but if the observer has a problem, don't bring it up every time he observes, don't observe the same trial as the man is riding or kiss and make up!!!
So with no real truthful outcome to it...scrub the section. It keeps people happy and gives a truer result to the trial.

I had topped mine up before hand too Cubby, topped it up until you could see it at the top of the rad. Didn't mention that at the weekend but i had no such problems, but it might of had something to do with crap on the front of the rad stopping the air getting to it or it was just running at an unsualy high temperature!
-
Hmmmm, have you tried disconnecting the kill switch and seeing if that is the problem!???

I'm sure a few years ago, Trials was being pushed quite hard to be part of the Summer Olympics and i think they even hada demo arena trial for the olympic committee to mull over! Although it didn't make it into the Olympics, i reckon that it should be in. The riders today are extremely fit and the things they do (esp Bou) defy gravity and they really are athletes in their own right.
If it doesn't make it to the Olympics in the near future, then i reckon the X-Games are also a good platform for Trials!

I have used Iris chains in the past and not had a problem! To me they have been spot on. I have now changed to a Regina chain (in the last month - for no other reason other than just a change) and it seems spot on too! I've never heard of any problems with Iris chains until now. There's always a first for everything.

Just like to say a huge thanks to everyone involved in the Reeth 3 Day. It was my second year this year and have thoroughly enjoyed both years. Obeservers, route markers, girls in the signing on tent, timekeeper and the men with the fuel. The whole weekend couldn't have happend without any of them!
Thanks again!

Regs are usually out after the Manx 2 Day which is the end of August. Well, thay have been the last few years!

Hi all,
Would anyone happen to know the dates for the Lakes 2 Day this year??????????
Thanks
-
wri5hty,
The Manx 2 Day trial is probably one of the most popular 2 day trials in the UK. Unfortunately for this years trial, the entries are closed but there is always next year! Be sure to keep an eye on our website www.manx2day.com around April time for entry forms and regs for next year.
The Isle of Man is under the ACU as the Isle of Man Centre and can be ridden with your ACU licence. It is a great trial, i'm sure people who have ridden it will agree and it grows in popularity each year with the solo class oversubscribed within days of the entries opening.
The Lakes 2 Day Trial is also a good 2 day event. It is in October and i'm not sure when the entries open. I have ridden it once and it was great fun.
Hope that has wet your appetite for them...

Does anyone know where you can get the plastic screws, which hold down the peak, from?? One of mine is broken and would like to get a new one so it looks a bit better!
thanks
-
The top bracket which attaches the exhaust to the frame at the front of the bike keeps breaking, even after welding. it is simply just cracking along each bend and coming apart. it is quite sturdy in the bike but it is quite annoying having to weld it all the time. Does anyone have any tips on how to give it a bit of strength, beefing up the bracket etc...
i would attach a picture but i don't know how!!!
any help will be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine has a 2005 300 which has the Ducati ignition system on it and apparently there was all sorts of problems with that on all GG's. He has just had it rebuilt and it wouldn't fire up, but it would with a plug cap and wiring from a 1937 BSA M20!!! He has got it running but our dealer did say that with the Japanese system now on the bikes, it is much more reliable!!

The black frames aren't too bad. I put some carbon fibre effect vinyl decal on mine, mainly where my boots touch the frame. It does wear but it does a decent job. The only pain in the ass is that you gotta cut it out and stick it on. Not always great at sticking first time but it does stay for a while.

Yeah, Douglas is the place to stay for night life, but you need to get booking now. It's Manx Grand Prix fortnight so there will be alot of places filling up. Paramount is probably the best "club" but there is Colours at the Hilton aswel!
Despite being Manx i can't argue about the Steam Racket Company...sorry Packet. They are a total shambles! and a HUGE rip off!!
-
So what number has everyone got? i'm at 142. I'm happy with that number!!
-
Michelins. Gas Gas UK post them i believe!!
