    The 2010 Fuel Tank

I am only aware of one. There could be another below the one I noticed.

    Xispa

Maybe you have to fly to China to test one.

    The 2010 Fuel Tank

The 2010 Sherco has a baffle in the tank.
  4. There is a guy here in the states rebuilding shocks and he has rebuilt 2 for me over the last 2 years with excellent results. He says the shock seals leak because of nitrogen pressure loss in the shock. Apparently the seal needs the pressure to expand the seal against the shaft. The only time the seal needs replacing is when the shock shaft is scored or damaged. Usually there is some oil loss as a result of the pressure loss so the shock needs an overhaul but not necessarily a new seal. Good Luck.
  5. I owned a 330 in the mid 80's. Your bike looks better than new. Are those shocks the same length as stock? Swingarm seems to have quite a steep angle to it...

    Sherco 2010

A #38 sounds like a better bet than a #33. Your throttle response will improve and your range of adjustment, but like Cope says....somewhere in the middle might be right.
  7. I think Dan started celebrating before the celebration!!!.......I'll have some of what he's been drinking please.......
  8. Judging the Merlin by how many times Kip Webb had that bike upside down, the Merlin had the Best Handlebars for sure!!! Great footage, thanks for the memories. Boy do I miss Trials Bikes with real seats. The FIM and National Org. should pass a rule that Trials Bikes need to have a minimum seat height for competition (somewhat higher than the current crop). Trials bikes have become too specialized for this reason alone in my opinion.
  9. From what I remember about the DT 175, I am sure the power would feel somewhat more modern compared to a TY 175. The TY power is just flat and always seems to be just enough, whereas the DT has a stronger mid-range and top end. I guess it just comes down to what you want in a bike.
  10. I hear there are plenty of McDonald's in Europe, so food wouldn't be a problem for most American Kids.

  12. Interesting....give it a try and let us know.
  13. My son has an '09 290 and I ride it occasionally after he is done riding. Which is usually when I have a go, so I would say the fuel is very low. The '10 is lighter for sure. Pat had just added fuel to the tank prior to my ride but I am not sure he topped it off. We did not compare weights and Pat left yesterday.
  14. Had a 10 minute ride on Pat's 2010 Sherco, and despite my limited abilities, here are my impressions. When you first throw a leg over the bike and grab the bars, you notice how light the bike feels just rocking it from side to side. The center of gravity feels much lower. The overall light weight feel was also very noticeable while riding through some warm-up sections. Wheelie turns and just anything to do with placement of the front end will bring a smile to your face. I didn't notice any difference in the rear end which just felt pretty normal. The power was classic Sherco, but did have a slightly smoother bottom end delivery. Brakes and suspension also had a very familiar feel. Construction looks first class. The radiator does not extend out as all the reports I have read seem to indicate. Looks pretty narrow in relation to the other components that make up the front of the frame area. Other than the engine and wheels, the bike really looks all new. I watched Pat do some jetting changes which did require the fuel tank removal and the air intake boot. He didn't seem to have any trouble but it did take longer to remove the Carb. than the previous model (even though he probably has a few more thumbs than the likes of rlracer or copemech) If you have one of these bikes on order, your probably not losing any sleep waiting for your new mount, but you should be!
  15. As a rule of thumb, I always measure what I drain out so as to only refill with the same amount (unless the fork seal was a massive leak) Also, to make sure the forks are not binding, re-tighten the fender bracket and the front axle pinch bolts with the front forks compressed.
  16. Half the posts on this forum would dry up if that was the case!
  17. Somewhere along the way, the shock length did change and the link had to be changed to maintain the origional ride height. We got caught up in this first hand. '06 would be my guess.

Sorry J.R., your slightly confused. "Hammered" is a phrase usually referring to you and your evening escapades (which you don't do any longer). Does this mean your no longer a member of TFM?

After watching Pat at the same Trial Ringo was at, I have agree. He has a very dynamic riding style that makes you aware you are watching a real talent. Whether or not he ever gets to Europe again really doesn't matter as he has already made his mark on the sport. As for Dupont who was also in attendance, I have never seen someone " hammer" a bike as well as he can! I hope what he is doing has nothing to do with the future of Trials.
  20. After my wife and I married, I took her out to the garage. I told her "see that big mess of bikes in the garage"......."well its only going to get worse". Haven't had a problem since. Wish me luck!!!!
  21. I don't think Motowest does anything Trials anymore. Bummer about your departure date, but that's how it usually goes.
  22. Check out Tec-Cycles, they're located in Riverside, CA. Their website is www.Tec-Cycles.com. Also our local Southern California club is putting on an event on January 17th at Romoland only about an hour away from Fullerton. Check out the website, http://atatrials.com/schedule.html

    2010 Xispa

Rest assured that if the Xispa was made by one of the Jap factories, everyone would be falling all over it with praise and forgiving all the faults as "a good first effort" . My kids Yamaha TTR-125 has a stamp on the motor saying "Made in Brazil". Looks to me like the same motor that is in the Scorpa 125. Here in the states, new cars have stickers telling what percentage of the vehicle is U.S. Made and what percent Foreign Made. Maybe we would all feel better if Trials manufactures did the same!

    Sherpa In Action

Absolutely Priceless (1:30).......thanks, I haven't laughed that hard in weeks. A good example for minding your own business. The "Puma Sherpa" sounds like a modern bike......very nice.
