    2014 Montesa?

That's why its best to test ride as many bikes as you can,....then pick the one that brings them odds up towards 75% bike 25% rider....
  2. Yes Borus is the importer, and from Ossa related experience with him, I'm sure Canadian customers will be very well served by him. if you had a new Ossa and had a bad experience, then maybe your negativity at every opportunity would have some relevance
  3. Certainly have some constructive post at times dabster, but Its a bit sad that your so quick to stick in your misinformation and unfounded, smart aleck comments on a subject that has little relevance to you. An apology to the young fellow would'nt go astray either.
  4. 280i, Good to hear our so pleased with your new bike. I suppose its not until you actually have a ride on one that you really get to know what a great bit of gear they are.
  5. Like your term much better Tim. Have to sit on the fence about who may have been better or up there with the talent of the current mastero's. Dabster and others that have had the benefit of seeing these guys in action are more the guys to pass judgement than me. The fact is wether it was Sammy,Mart, Yrjjo, Eddie,Jordi or Dougie, at their best they all seemed invincible and all fit the bill as mastero's of our sport.
  6. Totally unfair to compare todays riders with riders of the 70s 80s or even the 90s. Why there were such large starting numbers previously is because 99% of all the sections were done with wheels on the ground in that period. Who is to say the early world champs had the nerve and the balancing skills the riders of this last decade posses. These latest riders are freaks acquiring and developing split second, pinpoint accuracy on bikes that was never thought of earlier. The riders of today have nurtured the skills we see today from babys on pushies and converted that talent to do the what is now on a motorised Trials bike. Their commitment and talent is way out of reach of any part time "gun" novice.
  7. Stick around a bit, were heading in that direction.... ain't that the truth.
  8. You really don't grasp what is happening to the "support" riders if the few top elite are making this type of score.

    Power

Have you lost some weight recently.........
  10. Good story, Would you have a pic of "original " Fantic trials bicycle you could show us Glenn,
  11. Maybe then a richer Raga would make him a more happy chappy!
  12. Hi Bruno,Very enjoyable clips, this place needs some action. No matter what you start on you should do fine. I reckon if you hook up with OTF from this forum and put him in a chair he will really enjoy No Stop
  13. Little Dennis came home from his Lockridge school one day slightly confused. His Mother was Jewish and his father was a aboriginal So Dennis asks,"Mommy, am I more Jewish or more native?" "What does it really matter? If you want to know for sure you'll just have to ask your father," his mother tells him. So, when his father arrived home, Little Dennis asks the same question, "Daddy, am I more Jewish or more native?" "What the hell kind of a question is that? Why do you want to know if you're more Jewish or more native?" asks his dad. "Well, it's like this dad. Tommy down the street wants to sell his bicycle for $50, and I don't know whether to jew him down to $25, or wait until it's dark and steal the ******* thing."
  14. Stopping new technology will never be an option. I'm sure price has very little to do with sales. The trend here has been buy a new bike and depending on the brand a yearly upgrade will see you drop 2K to 4K. This makes as new bikes very reasonable for the astute purchaser.
  15. Looking forward to your impressions, what grade do you ride.
  16. Great report, you guys are so lucky to have been part of what must have been a fantastic day. Did Jordi mention he may be coming down under I'm sure he would get a huge welcome here.
  17. Steve, I’m sure the comparison of penalties lost in any trial for the riders mentioned would show a similar gap no matter if Stop or No Stop was in play. The decision to implement No Stop for the WTC after the British 2012 experience that saw such wide spread discontent amongst the riders was ignored. Its plain to see that no matter in what form they try to shuffle the rules, time limits, no minders, not being able to walk sections on the day of the event, the skill of the top riders will always shine through. The very questionable reasons given for these rule changes like gaining more competitors, to sell more bikes or to entice more spectators is just plain nonsense. To me the saddest part is the element of marker influence on a result. The old term that is always brought up at marker training and marker briefing on the day of a Trial is be consistent with your marking. Sure this works well on many grey areas during an event, BUT as seen on some clips when a faultless ride is witnessed and really is deserving of a clean score, that riders advantage has been negated by a markers leniency. It only takes one error of judgement with scores he has given to riders who should have probably have been pinged a five, to turn a winning ride into a second or third placing, and in effect, the best rider has been cheated. It is very unfair for riders and it places to much responsibility on markers when the rule is not strictly enforced for what ever reason. What I find so annoying is the pretence after each Trial that all is well. These top riders should be allowed to ride in the manner the sport has progress through and in the manner they have trained and honed theirs skills so the world can see the magic they possess and their ability to make these bikes do the unimaginable. If that means backing up or rear wheel hopping, nose wheelies or what ever other skill they possess to make it to the ends cards clean in their allotted time, lets witness it. If that means embarrassing the rest of the field, so be it, after all they are the best in the World on these machines and they should be given the opportunity to display their talent
  18. Don't be so down on yourself Martin....as Bill T points out, everyone still has the freedom to express their thoughts for what they see as being in the best interests of their sport.
  19. Any video clips or the 2013 results available anyone ?
  20. Thats a bit tough Glen, Watching footage and the marks given is at times laughable. Looking at what is now deemed no stop really makes each section a nightmare for riders with the markers interpretation of issuing a 5 or a clean a lottery.
  21. Its very easy to see in the examples of these two clips of Cab and Fugi how the result is determined by the observer not by the skill of the rider. How can Cab not feel cheated when viewing his competitors non compliance with the new rules and receive a clean when it obviously was not. Why is this margin of error deemed OK by markers , when it clearly is negating the prowess of the more skilled riders. Its not a slack dab there missing its a failure. If Michiad thinks all is well, he is fooling himself and making the new format more unpalatable for all.
  22. Have to disagree with you there sideup. The introduction by FIM of the dead-man engine stop switch, is in my opinion the most important inclusion for WTC riders and should be applauded. No matter how good these riders are, a runaway bike that has been launched at obstacles they are negotiating in the manner now required, do turn these bikes into a virtual lethal weapon If control is lost with crowds of on lookers so close to the action, the instant saftey they ensure cannot be underestimated for all concerned, riders, minders, spectators and officials.
  23. Looks like Jeroni pick up that pretty quick.
  24. Was this noticeable last year in the BTC under No Stop ?
  25. feeling guilty that ......it never was..
