    Ossa Mar

Not a bad idea that woody Would have been an easy job but the tube had a slight bend in it (.2 - .3mm) from distortion from where the legs are welded to the tube, all sorted with a bit of straightening and re boring though

    Ossa Mar

I have a few with grease nipples fitted to the swingrm, doesn't seem to have done much good though as the spindles were still seized in I think the problem is the spindle rusting and locking itself into the bushes I've just converted a swingarm to needle roller bearings with a grease nipple fitted, hopefully should be an improvement, I'll post some pics when I get chance..

    Mar Wheel Bearings

Not sure if this is the same type as woody refers too but here is a spacer/bearing carrier for use with dished sprockets next to a flat sprocket spacer...

    Mar Wheel Bearings

I've bought m7 bolts from these before, both good service http://www.polished-stainless.com/phdi/p1.nsf/supppages/3534?opendocument∂=2#metric and http://www.a2stainless.co.uk/M7-x-1-00mm_B217L5.aspx

    Mar Wheel Bearings

Excellent reply as always Woody Who's selling the dished sprockets? I didn't notice any available last time I was looking for ossa bits on the net

    Mar Wheel Bearings

I use 6201 2RS the 2RS being rubber sealed both sides 2 in the front wheel and 3 (iirc) in the rear or 4 if your using the flat sprocket adapter Not sure if you have a mk1 or mk2 but I'm fairly sure the mk2's had all black hubs and brake plate
  7. I've just put a set in a TR77, I used 30204...... same for all the 'classic' ossa frames I believe

    ossa 250 mar

I've done the kickstart mod to a couple of bikes, seems to work ok, not used the bikes regularly though I took approx 2" out of the vertical section when viewed on bike
  9. sorry my fault for not reading the post clearly That bolt is an m8 allen key cap head, 25mm long 1.25 pitch As you may know you'll need a longer bolt (m6 i think) in the oil drain hole to secure the damper unit or the whole unit spins as you tighten (or undo) the m8 bolt Hope this helps AMO
  10. Not sure till I check, but I think the last one's I changed were m7x1

    Steering Geometry

Is your tr77 the black or green frame model? and is it still the original colour? I'm restoring a couple of green frame models and can't find the correct colour for powder coating, I know ford modena green has been mentioned on here before but not convinced its correct Any help appreciated AMO
  14. "a good position for the pegs is in line with the front and rear axle" Not sure about that...may be a good start point? For trials, back and below of the swingarm pivot is usually a good footrest position
  15. Hi, lowering (and moving back) will improve the riding position in my opinion but keeping the original brackets may make riding awkward, other points to consider: new footrest bracket/plate may stop sidestand operating fully rear brake pedal may need modifying for reach and height have you tried higher bars/risers? possibly a spare frame to do the mods on while keeping the original, original? here's a few pics of one I modified lately for ideas
  16. just wondering.... Why no interest in fitting a reed valve/case?

    Ossa Renovation

Just to illustrate; The one on the left is the flat sprocket spacer, the one on the right is the extra bearing carrier/spacer for dished sprockets Also a few things I've noticed lately; If you stand a bare frame on a surface plate (flat table) with both front down tubes and the bottom of the frame resting on the table (the side of the headstock tube is at 90* to the table) then measure from the table to the footrest brackets the left footrest is 6mm higher (or lower, cant remember which) than the right footrest I have done this with 3 TR77 frames and 1 MAR, all the same Whats that all about??? Also; Tried using a set of TR77 yolks on a mk2 MAR for temporary use, it doesn't work the MAR yolks are 10mm wider on the centres of the stantions Was scratching my head for a while wondering why the wheel would not fit again You can tell the TR77 yolks from the MAR yolks as they are a lot flatter and deeper when looking at the front of them Dont want anyone to lose sleep over these points just thought it may be of use to somebody

    1200 Ossas Spoken For?

If the launch of the the bike was top secret that means they sold 1200 in a week approx, in just spain alone? Not sure about that, but good going if its true

    Ossa Renovation

Nice choice!! I think you may have misread the numbers as the engine numbers start with a M, also the stampings were not done very well on some bikes so could be possible to confuse a 1 with 4 Are you planning on a stock looking restoration or with a few mods for riding? pictures would be nice I've got 7 of them to do when I've finished my yank car Plenty of suppliers in UK, USA and spain, dont think there's any problem with building one to as it left the factory condition if thats what you want AMO

    New Ossa

Looks amazing!! If it rides as good as it looks I want one They''ve obviously put a lot of thought and money into it so far, its gonna be expensive! The silencer in one of the pics that shows where the exhaust goes in looks like it may be plastic/fibreglass for mock up purposes? Sandifords to be importers??
  22. Considered an Ossa? spares aren't a problem if you know where to look I'd agree that a TY would be the easier/more common option though AMO

    Ossa Stripes

anyone know if there is a difference in the stripe kits needed for an ally tank and fibreglass tank? ('74 model) I have a set that looks right when offered up to the ally tank but can't decide if it looks right when placed on the fibreglass Thanks.....AMO
