  1. I think the closest you'll get is for the 03 but there are VERY few differences
  2. They're having a few problems. Try here.... http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/dabberstrials.html%20
  3. Is it the normal 10.30 start time?

Are you really planning on riding a 290 Jack?

Nash Mills but you'll have to join
  6. Is that the same Bill Faulkner that owns the motorcycle shop along the botley road in Oxford and I used to go to Abingdon College with I wonder?
  7. Suppose I were to start from scratch and build myself a one off twinshock. I use all the moderm materials available to me. All the best bits i can find. But it has drum brakes front and back and an air cooled motor. The thing is its a one off... built from scratch BUT it IS a twinshock and was designed that way from the start. Am I cheating? and if so why?
  8. I need a rear wheel or even just the hub for a 1980ish TX250 (125cc twinshock) Also.... Does anyone know anyone who has any fork rebound springs for the 32mm forks?

Can anyone please tell me how much and what grade oil to put in the forks of a 125cc TX250 with 32mm forks? Thanks
  10. Why shouldn't they experiment with it. While they're at it how about ABS and 2 wheel drive. I would like to see the world championship level as an experimentation ground for new ideas. After all isn't that how the mono shock came about. Sure they have to stick within the regulations but why should we criticise them for trying new things out. Maybe just maybe some of these ideas may become production items in a few years time.
  11. Bleed the system again to get a good pedal and then leave it presurised overnight. Perhaps a breeze block lodged on the pedal. Then check for signs of fluid loss in the morning
  12. Me

Great video's Jamie. Looks like your confidence grew as the day went on. I don't suppose there's any good trials around that beautiful French cottage of yours is there? If there is I can forsee a summer in France this year
  13. If I were you, i'd use those little blue cramp connectors. Cut the wires from your old regulator and refit the plug to the loom so that the old regulator wires are hanging loose. Connect the new regulator to them using the blue blocks and then wrap some insulating tape around each connector. A bodge I know but at least it will be reasonably neat

I get an error message when I try to run the .EXE file.... Eddy_full.a10 : Cannot find file
  15. I find it easiest if you compress the spring in the vice first and hold it compressed with a plastic tie while you fit it to the bike then just cut the tie off once its in place

Very good explanation Lee... AND it made me chuckle. I am VERY slowly putting together some instructions for doing the crankseals on a TX250 on my website which is pretty much the same on most Fantics I believe. If your interested the link is http://www.blocky.sitesled.com/ then go to TECHNICAL

I think what Lee is getting at is that there may have been some damage to the crankcases and/or crankshaft. A small amount of metal such as a broken piston ring can do when it drops down into the lower part of the engine. Remember that piston is moving so fast at top revs that it becomes invisible. Did you completely strip the engine or just the top end? If not you'll need to do even if its just to check for damage. Look out for signs of impact in the crankcases and pieces of piston ring embadded into the alloy. I remember going to look at a second hand Beta and the engine jaming flat out when the owner demonstrated the bike to me. I can tell you I backed off pretty damn quickly when things began to clang. Needless to say I didn't buy it.

Thanks Lee... Guess i'll just have to be a bit more firm with it then. Thanks for you time and effort too Chris although yes I was talking about a Fantic

Please forgive me for such a dumb ass question but i've just replaced the crankshaft seals on my TX250 (Minarelli engine) and for the life of me i can't work out where to refil the gearbox with oil. I can see what may be a filler cap near where the clutch cable pivots but i'm reluctant to force it because its only plastic and is more than finger tight. Thanks

I used to find with mine that sometimes the front mudguard would slip over the top of the front exhaust pipe when the forks were fully compressed which caused the steering to lock until you untangled things. This seemed to happen on lots of bikes before the pro came out. Raising the mudguard as you do when it gets muddy increases the problem so i'd check that before you go striping things out.

It was great fun A total mud bath. I dunno how many people were there but must have been over 100. Nevertheless it was really well organised and there was very little waiting at the sections. I don't think I did very well but it was truely amazing watching Wiggy having a Sunday outing. By god that boy can ride!! Lots of old tricked up pre65's too. Would I go again?... ummm... Probably not unless it was a bit dryer. Yeah I know but I am an old fart
